Occasionally, we get the opportunity to witness evolution. Perhaps not of the species per say, but the perceptions and the actions of people to be sure.

Take one Joy Reid. She has quite the history of making inflammatory remarks about folks, and quite often uses gay themed stereotypes as put downs. There are many of these to actually choose from, but her twitter comments about "shim" Ann Coulter, to "miss" Christy, to more deeply bigoted remarks about homosexual pedophilia, Joy has quite a long history of intolerance, and frankly hate.

So, given this history, why is Joy still an anchor of MSNBC? I, like many, can certainly entertain the idea that at some point, people evolve, and they make an effort to improve. And, clearly, ms Reid has at least somewhat apologized for some of her more superficial bigotry.

And yet, does that then excuse her current behavior that now accuses internet archival sources of "rewriting history" vis a vis, cached images of her own blog, where she viciously lashed out at gays?

I hate to generalize here, but this does seem to be not only a personal story about ms Reid, but also a more general conversation about democrats in general. As in, as a group, this pejorative association of smug revile those they suggest that they are advocates for, all the while holding their collective noses in disgust at the though of actually having to interact, or deal with these groups. Perhaps this is why so many of them live behind well guarded walls. Allowing those groups in because, in their minds, they can only be the maids, or the gardeners, or the florists....

Is that then really acceptance? I think not. I advance though, this behavior as real evidence of the plantation mentality of liberals. The intolerant private condescension on public display from ms Reid, if only for a while.

While I don't advocate that ms Reid should lose her job at MSNBC for her posts, historic and contemporary, I wonder what her value is to MSNBC as clearly, the bloom is off the stem.

She claims her account was hacked. If it was, that's that. If it wasn't, she needs to face consequences. Firing would not be out of the question. Easy as that....

I like Joy but, anybody who decides to align with the left understands that, if they act improperly, they will not receive the type of unconditional blind support they would get on the right.
