Well, are white men hot in the Democratic Party? Are they disadvantaged at all? Or is the era of the white male predominance in US politics over?

I'm a white, male, liberal Democrat, but for me, the period of white male dominance in both party & national politics is over. I'm supporting a female candidate in the primaries this round. A female President of the U.S. is long overdue. I hope 2020 is the year for change.

 

White male=no (especially if they have an attached penis).
Female=maybe (extra points if they ever marched wearing a pussyhat)
"female" with a penis=more likely (they probably have marched wearing a pussyhat)
Multicultural=possibly (deduct points if penis is attached)
Best option, is multicultural transgender that was born an anchor baby 37 years ago.

 

This is just Democrats doing damage control. Their internal polls show they are losing white voters due to their race baiting.

Democrat leaders stand up and say "it's their job to tell white people to shut their mouths", and all the Democrats clap and cheer. Now they are trying to walk back the race baiting.

 

Seems like a sexist way to pick a leader. Guess we know what is important to you eh?

Gender equality is important to me--as more than a one-liner quip. And in all 231 years of our American Presidency, we've never been fair enough, or open-minded enough to elect a woman to the Oval Office. I'm one male American who sees a whole lot of unfairness & prejudice in that reality. I'm also one who wants to change it. So, yes, breaking that particular gender biased glass ceiling IS DEFINITELY IMPORTANT TO ME. No apologies offered.

 

Then find a candidate who is best qualified to hold the position of president of the united states, based on their qualifications alone, rather than on their gender.

They are putting out stories like this to cover for their obvious white people hate problem. are so racist they actually buy into this kinda stuff and eat it up. These stories are written for drones. They know we will laugh and make fun, but racist/sexist will take it seriously .

Why is it important at all? Men and women are different. They have different interests. The promotion of gender equality makes women unhappy.

 

You've been listening to too much FOX propaganda. Yes, men & women are different, but that doesn't translate into either being superior or inferior. They have perfectly equal abilities in leadership, and should be guaranteed equal opportunity to practice those abilities wherever & whenever they can. To believe that gender equality makes (most) women unhappy, is absurd. It probably makes a few conservative, brainwashed or brain dead women unhappy. But, hopefully, they are a small minority in America.

That gender equality has increased woman's unhappiness is well known. Women used to be happier than men. Now it is reversed. Men are happier than women.

You really ought to stop being intellectually lazy and just assuming the PC idea is the correct one. The facts just don't work in your favor.

 

Your article discussed several possible reasons for women's gradual long-term descent into being more unhappy. none of which directly connects with my post. Life is complex for all of us, and there are often many considerations for every decision made, & several ramifications that result from any given decision. I got the impression those who studied this trend couldn't explain it themselves. I certainly didn't read it as an argument against equal gender rights.

 

I read it (and other similar articles) as an argument against pushing girls into lifestyles that are unsuitable for them. There is a big push to equalize the number of men and women who are engineers, for example. Girls who display some aptitude for STEM are pushed into pursuing STEM careers. But then they wash out either in school or during their jobs at much greater numbers than men. These women have had their lives damaged because of feminist ideology.

"Equal gender rights" oughtn't insist on equal gender outcomes. Perhaps women are either uninterested or untalented when it comes to politics. Your ideological insistence on equalizing gender outcomes in politics is a disservice to women and to our nation.

 

To me, the very term "human rights" or "individual rights" or "equal rights" means literally having the personal freedom to make personal choices for oneself. You totally misread or misunderstood me if you believe I advocate for women to make up equal portions of society in a variety of professional jobs or careers. I don't. I advocate that every human being, REGARDLESS OF GENDER, COLOR, RELIGIOUS BELIEF, SEXUAL PERESUASION, OR POLITICAL PREFERENCES, has the individual right & freedom to decide questions that impact his or her life for themselves. Every human should be free to pursue their own individual dreams in any & every way possible, so long as they don't impinge on the freedom of others to do the same. I don't have any ideological insistence on equalizing gender outcomes--period. I have an ideological insistence that everyone has the equal RIGHT to decide for themselves.
