One has nothing to do with the other, but as long as people think doing drugs while at work, possibly endangering others, is a good idea, then yes, I support it.

People, not companies. It's called 'conflict of interest'.

I'm not certain exactly what Tucker said, as I can only tolerate so much pig vomit, but for sure much of the vaccine hesitancy was based upon people having an exaggerated sense of the risks of vaccination, and this came largely from the anti-vaxxers in general.

Choices occur in a context and anti-vaxxers were lying about the risks of vaccination. An analysis like the above is basically the cost of vaccine hesitancy, wherever it comes from. Many people who didn't take the vaccine were misinformed on the fact that the vaccine was FAR more likely to save them than harm them. Death is reduced, but doesn't completely go away with vaccination. Death is rare from vaccination. You compare those numbers, and a majority of the covid deaths since the vaccine became widely available could have been prevented by vaccination, which is a quarter of the total.

Is this a retro thread from a year ago? Spreading the lie that individuals who are not vaccinated are a health threat to those who are? A total lie of course.

Obama went retro also in his idiot speech at Stanford. Not enough for 80% of the country to be vaccinated it must be 105%!

Why is South Korea having the highest rates of Covid in the world even though they are the most vaccinated country in the world?

To be fair, the risk of the virus was pretty small as well as pretty targeted as the data now shows. Hesitancy is also about risk or more directly, the idea that no one knows the long term effects of the vaccinations couldn't be evaluated against the benefits. Of course we now know that the benefits didn't include protection for iterative variants, and it hasn't shown to either stop becoming infected, nor has it stopped folks who were vaccinated from still becoming sick or dying. When the CBA can't show you the potential down side of having your own body become its own generator of a protein that might long term reduce your own ability to fend of infection in the future, (as the inventor of the mRNA technology has warned of) it cannot simply be because opinion tv told them not to. Literally, the weight of government was used to require as many to be vaccinated, promised future freedom if you did so, etc. All that turned out to be BS as even now, the CDC would have you subjugated and obedient on a plane. Imagine that.

Not compared to getting the vaccine, even for the young. But when we're talking about chances like 1 or 2% of death on average (higher for the old, much lower for the lowest risk group) that may not seem like much to an individual, but applied to a population of hundreds of millions that's a lot of death.

This is why we have experts we should listen to. There's no guarantee they'll be correct, but it's far more likely they'll be correct than somebody who knows nothing about medicine or public health speculating.

A misleading statement. Stopping is an ideal, but reducing means there's still a benefit if it outweighs the risks (which are very low). Even for newer variants, vaccinations reduces risk of death.

Well, with respect to the topic of the thread, most people don't even have enough of a clue to ask that question. And while the widespread use of mRNA vaccination might be new, what it does to your body is as old as viral infection. Viruses hijack our cells to produce their proteins with our mRNA. The mRNA vaccine only does the last step in a partial way, so the absolute worst-case scenario is nothing mysterious. And it goes a long way to explain why some of the side effects of the vaccine are the same as side effects of the virus (e.g. myocarditis), albeit less severe and much safer than getting infected. But go ahead and try to support your assertion if you can.

Promising future freedom is a bit of a stretch, but there were statements like if more people got vaccinated we could get back to normal life sooner. It wasn't really a lie when we didn't know for sure that the virus would go the direction it did with omicron. And even now things are being re-evaluated.

You should remember though, that the main reason for these measures is to save lives. You see an attempt to control, but the actual purpose is to try to prevent death. A legit discussion can still be had on whether minimizing death is worth sacrificing freedom, but it would be nice if conservatives would stop mischaracterizing the liberal and public health approach as control for the sake of control.

Obama just wants folks to shut up and obey. It's what he's always wanted. Of course folks died from getting the vaccinations. A horrible irony here. The supposition that a quarter of the deaths could have been prevented by having been vaccinated is the worst kind of monday morning quarterbacking. Given the number of deaths that have occurred from folks who were vaccinated, it's especially egregious. When will the progressive world understand that their own policy is also harmful as well as tyrannical? I assume, never, but I suppose one can always hold out hope for it.

More reasons to not take the vaccine just keep coming out everyday......no wonder they wanted to keep the data secret for 77 years.

They didn't get vaccinated because they believed conservative lies. Quite often a fatal disorder
Tucker Carlson should be sued out of his Swanson money.

Ooops! Don’t forget the Hydroxychloroquine and the bleach! Being an Aussie getting “light inside” is easy - just go down the local beach strip naked stick your head in the sand and butt in the air then pull your butt cheeks apart

In fact that appears to be the position adopted by………:p

What the hell kind of thread is that? If the cost of people not getting the vaccine is quantified then provide links and studies that prove that.

Quantified means you have numbers. Where are they?

According to this April 26th article 60% of adult Americans and 75% of children have already gotten the Covid virus so why are you still pushing vaccines? We have reached herd immunity according to Saint Fauci's own numbers.

    https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/972784

66% of Americans have been fully vaccinated.

Mississippi is one of the lowest states for vaccinations. Around 57%. Assuming that 60% have been exposed to the virus and assuming a 50% overlap that means that even that state would be theoretically 87% immune.

    So this is all BS!

Mississippi has only reported 12,492 Covid deaths in the 2 1/2 years of this virus.

Oh FYI blacks are the most vaccine hesitant group in the country and Mississippi is 40% black.
