Ok, so I admit I'm cribbing this from an opinion I just saw on Stephanie Ruhle's show.

Trump and his followers have taken majority control of the Republican party.

Beginning today they will be hosted by CPAC for a weekend of sloganeering, with the theme being the big lie and the manufactured outrage claiming that justified outrage for Trump's attempt to overthrow the government of the United States wasn't sedition, no, it's just the leftists and their cancel culture.

Of all people, Darth Dickhead's daughter Liz Cheney was one of the most prominent members of our elected Federal Government to succinctly summarize exactly what Trump did over the course of two months at the dismal conclusion to his reign of destruction.

And, for calling it exactly for what it was, the Wyoming GOP welcomed yet another likely closeted R twit from Florida to come talk trash about Liz as it began and concluded the process to cancel her, with an official Wyoming R party censure.

Trump's followers would gladly have supported the Pentagon sending in troops to stop the steal. And the game is afoot to change the narrative with a new catch phrase to replace lib snowflakes. The Cancel Culture. Yes indeed folks, those damn Berkeley Students that refused to let Milo Speak: That's The Real Threat!

While what happened to milo was. Bad, its far less bad than the real insurrections in Seattle and portland where real insurrections are going on with nightly assaults on police precincts and federal buildings.

This by comparison was far less troublesome than the attempted assault on the Whitehouse last summer and the attempted burn of a church which long ago ceased to be a church and became little more than a country club for left wing zealots that's open only on Sundays.

I'm already sick of the term "cancel culture."

(CNN)The upcoming annual Conservative Political Action Conference -- where former President Donald Trump will make his first speech since leaving the White House on Sunday -- booted a hip-hop artist and right-wing social media figure who was scheduled to appear over anti-Semitic tweets.

"We have just learned that someone we invited to CPAC has expressed reprehensible views that have no home with our conference or our organization," CPAC organizers said Monday in a tweeted statement. "The individual will not be participating at our conference."

Featured CPAC speaker said Judaism is a “complete lie” and referred to Jewish people as “thieving fake Jews” | Media Matters for America

So, he was cancelled because he talks like Trump, from an anti-semitic viewpoint.

I'm sure we'll hear about the "complete lie" of a stolen election and the "thieving fake Democrats" from Trump.

So-called conservatives are acting very confused. Real conservatives don't go to CPAC. What's Pence doing this weekend?

GRIFT-PAC is as close to the term "controlled opposition" as I think actually exists. Besides raising money, their major purpose seems to be pulling stunts to embarrass actual conservatives and trying to limit the actual conversation.

I dunno. They've all turned into '60's style peaceniks who are confused about cancel culture. It's a mystery.

Has the RNC changed its platform? If Michael Steele were back in charge it most certainly would have been, but that's a whole different story. Oh, what the hell...

2008, a well respected war hero wins the Republican nomination and chooses a woman as his running mate. I voted for him. The previous Republican administration appointed two blacks, one a woman, as SoS.

2009, continuing on the GOP's strides in diversity, after a tough loss to Barack Obama, the RNC elects as chairman the former lt. governor of Maryland, a black conservative, Michael Steele. Steele loses two years later, eventually withdrawing as Reince Priebus wins election. Co-incidentally, 2011 is when Donald Trump turned up the heat with birtherism.

I used to like Republicans, and I agree with them on many traditional values. What those values have become is beyond my understanding.

Trump is getting old and repeats himself over and over, it's sad to see, but happens to many as they age

are you in denial of CANCEL CULTURE?
it is proven to exist OVER AND OVER AGAIN
Most recently, The Mandalorian star, Gina Carano, was CANCELED by disney for a holocaust related tweet (that wasn't even antismetic)
Pedro Pascal, actor on the same show, made very similar tweets and some much worse but he had the magical moral teflon (not being white and not being conservative)
Stop pretending like it doesn't exist.

Whatever could Dems be angry about? Hmmm.

This is not the first time Carano, who played former Rebel Alliance soldier Cara Dune on The Mandalorian, has been the focus of social media ire for her political comments. Last November, she issued contentious tweets, one in which she mocked mask-wearing amid the novel coronavirus pandemic and another in which she falsely suggested voter fraud occurred during the 2020 presidential election.

If you're a businessman, mocking mask wearing with 500K US COVID deaths and perpetuating myths about voter fraud that lead to the Capital riot may not be something you want to associate yourself with.

The protests in Portland have mostly ended since the defeat of the Trump back in November. The last few were just violent right wing groups, like the Proud Boys, vandalizing Democratic symbols.

With you, every criticism of the Republican Party is, so are the Democrats. Your claims of independence are not believable. There is a rather harsh divide between the Democratic and Republican parties.

Until the Democrat cancel culture attacks on the liberty and freedom the Libs have been destroying I'm not interested in anything from the left. Their hypocrisy is off the charts! Joe Biden is a segregationist bigot and he's being touted as a saint. Start with that one.

We all have our beliefs. In some threads, I get called a liberal. From your view, I may appear far to the right. Its a matter or perspective. For me, its not as much about beliefs as it is using government to force those beliefs on others. Heres my chart if you are interested.

Have you ever fought a bully? Maybe I had a wire loose, but as a kid, I really hated bullies. Hated them with a passion. Every kid who tried to bully me, or those around me, had a fight on his hands. This meant that I spent quite a bit more time in the Principle’s office than I would have liked. In almost every case, the bully characterized himself as the victim. He could have, for instance, jabbed his elbow into your ribs, every time he passed you in the hall, day after day, after day. But the day, you decide you have had enough. Then suddenly he claims, “I was just walking along and he attacked me for no reason”. It is kind of the same thing. Trump and the Red Hats tried to bully their way into power. They failed and now they are trying to claim that they are the victims in all of this.

They were harmed by Biden winning the election, they are harmed by losing control of the Senate. They are harmed because they are losing the culture war. On and on and on. Oh woe is us. It was really the antifa, not our brave conservative insurrectionists.

I would never call you a liberal. More like one who has an agenda to mischaracterize the Democrats as being equivalent to the Republicans. Life in a Democratically controlled jurisdiction is different than in a Republican held one. One of the more glaring differences is that Democratic efforts tend to broaden the participation of as many citizens as possible in the election process. Republicans efforts, on the other hand, tend to restrict and hamper widespread citizen participation. To say they are somehow equivalent, ignores quite a bit of evidence that is right before our very eyes, and has been for quite some time.

    That's a very revealing post.

First, you hate entirely too much.

Secondly, I wonder if those "bullies" were actually bullies at all. Maybe they were just people who disagreed with you so you decided to pummel them.

One thing for sure, you seem to have a record of violence. Danger Will Robinson!

Hate to break the news to you, but liberalism and libertarianism are not the same thing. They even have different origins. Libertarianism began in France, thus its French terms, whereas liberalism began in Scotland, alongside Capitalism.

Thank you for clarifying the misunderstanding I never had.

I never said they were equivalent. Since I happen to live in Los Angeles, I can see the results of Democrat control. Here are actual results:

In spite of having the highest taxes, CA is the poverty capitol of the US. The gap between the rich and poor is huge and few are left in the middle. Schools rank with the lowest, roads are crumbling in spite of additional road taxes on top of existing road taxes. (Gas tax and additional registration fees) Second amendment rights are unrecognizable. CA cities were on the brink of insolvency before Covid. Businesses are fleeing the state and taking jobs with them.

    Can we discuss these results?

They aren't winning any of my supporting by continuing to do severe damage to Florida by holding these super-spreader events. I wish Pres Trump and FLGOV DeathSantis weren't such an anti-masking anti-shutdown idiots. I wish Pres Biden would step in and do something about these murderers.

I was talking about adolescent behavior. Unlike the behavior of middle aged men who thought they were doing the bidding of the president as they stormed the Capital causing millions of dollars of damage, harming dozens of police officers, threatening the lives of our elected officials.

I played basketball in high school and at one practice, the coach was having us run sprints, from one wall to the other and back. At one point, I was about three quarters of the way back when I noticed that no one was running along side me. Thinking that I had misheard the coach, and we were only supposed to run just to the far wall, I came to an almost complete stop as I turned to see where the others were. They were a few steps behind me, so I quickly turned and made it to the wall first. There was one fellow who took offense, thinking that I was mocking him. After practice he was mad and wanted to fight. Others interceded and nothing came of it.

I had a class where the teacher was also the head football coach. Apparently he had been in the locker room the day before, and had witnessed the altercation I had with the other fellow. Half way through his lecture, he suddenly stoped and directly addressed me. He went on about how I would be much better served in life as a lover, rather than as a fighter. As he spoke, there was this one girl who kept looking at me, caught my eye, gave me a look that cemented in my mind, the wisdom of his words.

By eleventh grade I had begun to refer to certain girls at my school as my defenders, as they tended to defend me whenever anyone would criticize me. There was this one fellow. Rather large and a bit of a narcissist. He was the type, who as a Senior, would give swirlies to freshmen, that is force their heads into a toilet and flush. He also seemed to think that he was the smartest kid in the school, even though his grades put him somewhere in the middle. One day he took offense to something I had said and threatened to kick my @$$. Without missing a beat, a girl jumped before him, took a stance, and told him, only through her. He backed down and I never had problems with him afterwards. But then I had been moving closer to the girl at the time. Eventually she became my girlfriend. Which is how I ended up dating the girl who was our Senior Prom Queen, the prettiest girl in the school.
