    The law that separates criminal invaders from their children was passed in 1997. Who was president then???????????? So why is it a problem now????????

    There is no such law.We are doing it under the directive of Dirty Donald and his A.G. who uses biblical quotes that were used in justifying slavery.

    If Trump could and did stop family separations, how would that work ? The kids being put in jails ? Is that what you want ?

    My guess is the % of so-called "asylum seekers" who are not really asylum seekers, is about 99.9%

    And what constitutes legitimate asylum ? Oh, my boyfriend threatened me ? Oh, we're gong to get hit with a hurricane ? Oh, my neighborhood is getting bad ?

    So the US is going to be a receptacle for every person with a sob story, from every corner of the earth. ?

    Because of the huge and unwritten LAW of this nation that is nonetheless very, very real; and that LAW is that it is NEVER wrong when a leftist does it. Or in other words since the vast majority of what the average citizen knows about current events is gotten from the leftist-allied propaganda sources of the Mainstream Media the average citizen is NOT going to be told when the law originated and nor that Clinton and Obama cheerfully did the same thing that Trump is doing. That's how leftists rock and roll inside this nation.

    Who had to provide something more than a democrat vote towards America. But no, they didn't come to be asylum seekers, they came to work without welfare benefits.

    Records show over 80% of humanitarian claims for asylum are frivolous- people using that part of our laws to avoid immediate deportation. Generally they are not dealing with asylum seekers who need asylum, they are dealing with con artists gaming our system with our own weaknesses.

    Frivolous means no basis in fact at all. Many of those that do have some basis and get deeper investigation are still distorting or exaggerating things for the same purpose. The genuine claim is the rarity.

    Asylum is another of those vague terms could mean just about anything. It can be anywhere from genuine fear for one's life, a faked fear for one's life or trying to just get a better life. It can be genuine, but varying in degree from minor to severe or imagined to real.

    Apparently the coyote coach them on the correct words.

    Sorting out the real from the fake and the minor from the severe takes time.

    Those wailing about this non-problem, talking about kids in "cages" need to do some research. These cages are more like dormitories with wire walls. The facilities include cafeterias (3 meals a day plus snacks on request), medical and dental care, and schools. These kids are probably eating better and getting better care than they have all their lives.

    "Until the policy was announced in April, such families were usually referred for civil deportation proceedings, not requiring separation. "
    During the wait for civil deportation proceedings to take place, they are given a court date and released. Many of them do not come back..

    Most of them do not come back, and that turns out to be the loophole that was being used to bypass the laws- by using the kids.
    And, just as people are held or bail is required to assure their return, illegal entrants are being held, thus the children they stupidly dragged along are in shelter situations.

    Nobody imposed this on those people, they made all the decisions that precipitated their situation- and cost us millions of dollars to deal with.
