Brits bend over backwards to please Arabs...that clearly works amazingly well for them. Now that their diplomats are mobbed and humiliated in front of the entire world the Brits I am sure will learn their lesson and do what they always do under the circumstances...bend even more.

The United Nations General Assembly voted to recognise the Palestinian State on the pre-1967 borders on November 29th, 2012. Despite implorations and threats from the US of AIPAC and Israel the UN approved Palestinian recognition by 138 votes to 9. The UK told the Palestinians that it would not oppose them if they agreed never to attempt to bring the Israelis before the international courts for their war crimes. The Palestinians ignored that insulting suggestion. ( I am not party to the terms they used in rejecting the bribe, but I would like to be  ) The UK - itself responsible for the initial division of Palestine and the notion of two States - abstained from the vote.
Now, that's almost as bad as the US of AIPAC vetoing its own policy. So, Sir Vincent was as welcome in Palestine as a turd in the soup- yet he'd actually gone to lecture Palestinians.

It's just as well that the UK didn't vote with the Nonsensical Nine.

The Palestinians invited him to speak and debate, Abu Mazen appologized for the incident promising he will invite him again, so you are obviously wrong.

You are so wrong. British people may recognise the needs of the Palestinians but certainly since 9/11 our politicians treat them as less than human. Note that Hague blamed Hamas for the attack by Israel in Nov and how after some Europeans were strongly promoting the needs for sanctions one of the Brits said 'it is not how the British feel of course'.

Britain is one of the three countries most responsible for what the Palestinians have endured. The others being the US and Israel.

Do you have proof or this is your personal opinion ?
    Because i think the opposite.

Arabs and Palestinian,Unfortunatly, never won such sympathy from the British like now.
The British will pay cause this is their biggest mistake !!!
The British, like the rest of Europe, looking for quiet,While Muslims are taking over us and impose their religion and customs on
    the Europeans.

LOL - Its good to see that those young students are not prepared to allow another British consul to repeat the same stale lies which that b'**** Blair has been spouting for years. Looks like the students of Bir Zeit are demanding action not BS from a diplomat's forked tongue .

I think those young students are politically astute enough to know how much the British people , in general , detest the racist injustices perpetrated by Israeli govt against the largely defenseless Palestinian people.

Palestinians are well aware that British Govt foreign policies do not represent, our people's sentiments. This is clear from every Pro-Palestine demonstration in British cities over the years.

On Saturday between 10,000 – 15,000 Londoners turned out in solidarity with Gaza, marching from Downing St to a rally near the Israeli Embassy on Kensington High St

British students are in total agreement with Bir Zeit students - Dont listen to British consul's lies.

    ===

btw - at this time most us have our own problems with our govt.

The only country that's responsible is Palestine. Had they accepted the partition they'd be a prosperous democratic nation today...and perhaps had Arab majority in Israel too. The UK was the only European country that did not vote in favor of the partition. The more you bend over backward, the more yiou acknowledge your non-existen responsibility, the more they are going to blame you and spit on you. Who can blame them?

Same stale worn out old crap argument - we've been over ad nauseum .-
The jews had no intention of sharing the land with non-jews. THeir greed would'nt have allowed i such a peace settlement.

UNGA Res 181 (non-binding ) was a PROPOSAL - subject to further negotiations . But the Jews was'nt happy with that , and promptly decided to UN Envoy Bernadotte . and their terrorists gangs LEHI/Irgun etc. resorted to ethnic cleansing , grabbing even a bigger slice of Palestine than the original partition proposal.

GO learn. its far more complex + not as simple as some simpletons would believe it to be .

Those Jews-Goodbye Jews!!! anti Semitism is alive and well, those Jews are guilty of refusing to let Arab lunatics-aka, Islamic Muslims murder their children and blow-up their homes. How dare those Jews refuse to allow their demise at the hands of Islamist crazies. The only solution to the curse of Islamic terrorism is to acknowledge it- speak the obvious truth about these barbarian savages who kill their own daughters for the crime of dating a non-islamic loon.

Palestinians have been given billions of dollars to build up their land- but, that will never happen. These terrorist have only one goal kill all those Jews, and when all those Jews are dead who's next-Christians-Gays-Woman who refused to be raped by Muslim men???

That half a truth, the other half is the Palestinians demanded an arab state, not 2 states, not like you hinted that if we waited a bit longer there would be 2 states, no, they made a formal request and its documented in the UN minutes to have one state of Arab majurity. so why should the Jews agree to that? why should they have waited to let the Arabs prepare thier plans ? the fact the Arabs refused the partitation plan and demanded 1 state proves its theywho were greedyand "had no intetion to share the land" - these are facts while you base you reasons on speculations and hatered - nothing more.

Once again just another bigger pile of crap to the earlier "stale worn out old crap argument - we've been over ad nauseum " again + again.

Why should'nt the Jews have waited ? It was a proposal for which UNGA chose to send a negotiator : Why did they murder UN ' envoy ?

"After the war, Bernadotte was unanimously chosen to be the United Nations Security Council mediator in the Arab–Israeli conflict of 1947–1948.

He was assassinated in Jerusalem in 1948 by the militant Zionist group Lehi while pursuing his official duties. The decision to assassinate him had been taken by Natan Yellin-Mor, Yisrael Eldad and Yitzhak Shamir, who later became Prime Minister of Israel."

    =====

As for them not wanting to share the land - OMG - fer fux sake - dont you know Arabs + Jews have been sharing that land for many centuries ?
before those ZioNazi nasties Jews came from Europe ?

---- Gilos you and I can argue till the cows have kittens or Jews turn into Japs , we'll never find common ground.

Zionists history lessons fed to you is as false as your siggy.

Yes, I know this. I know this because I live in the UK and I am old enough to have watched things develop.

Have a look at probably our most popular weekly political program Question Time. Listen to Owen Jones recounting the situation as it was, listen to the applause. You may be able to see Hague cringing. Indeed he was trying to eat his words about the Palestinians being responsible if I remember correctly but I cannot find that bit.

    Enjoy

That is what you think because you do not live here. Prior to 9/11 there was one major thing the British Government was going to do and that was make sure the US stopped supporting Israel in her settlements. This she has not done. The Conservative Government in particular relies on donations from Friends of Israel. All our major Political parties get large donations but the Conservatives most, starting I think around 2000.

Wait a minute, you mean that people who live in a country know more about its nuances than foreigners online, and are better able to comment on it? Why, this changes everything!
