A great series about a "Jewish American Princess" comedian breaking into the Lenny Bruce end of the business, in the late 50s. I started watching and got hooked by the end of the second episode. Not only a period series, it often uses filming techniques, writing, and music indicative of films of the era. It is often whimsical and fast moving but is very well written. It is also a comical journey into the lives of wealthy New York Jews from the time. Very funny at times! Now showing on Prime Video
On my second round of watching this, I watch most of my favorite movies and series at least twice. The series is generally smart and witty, funny, and very well written. I think part of the appeal for me is that it is light and sometimes silly...whimsical. It is a nice break from trump and the virus and the politics of beyond depressing. It is a wonderful escape that takes you back to the time of my parents. What really jumps out for me on the second pass is that all of the central characters are wonderful. They are well played and well written; truly a pleasure to watch.
