Show me the Televangelist that isn't living the life of a multi millionaire with yachts, planes and multi autos??Or the just exposed Catholic bishop from the poverty stricken W.Virginia area who has lived the life of a millionaire with penthouse and lavish lifestyle.Maybe the collapse of society is generated by the theft and immorality seemingly shared by most if not all of our so called religious leaders???

Show me the televangelist who told us the oceans are rising and will swallow the coastline because of Climate Change, then bought a $15M mansion on Martha's Vineyard.

I am saying, as others have, you won't back up any claims you make. Does that make you brainwashed?

I say, I am informed, but am opened minded. So, if you have valid points with proof, I will look at them and weigh their validity.
But without any proof at all, there is no way to take claims seriously.

The USA, is not the USSR.
And note: USSR doesn't exist anymore.

    I am.
I want to keep my deer hunting rifle.
But, I don't need 30 round magazines to shoot said deer. If I did, I'd quit hunting.

I may want 30 round mags myself simply because it is no one's business if I have them.

Much truth in that, but I'd say that has been an issue for a long time. In fact, I think the difference is that more people today are open about their sense of morality.

Both true, as is my original assertion. Leftists have interfered with the practice of religion.

It is inevitable that the Left will attempt to suppress religion when it becomes powerful enough. Religion is an alternative source of authority and the Left is inherently totalitarian. It cannot tolerate an alternative source of authority.

You call them leftists. I don't. So, it's a terminology thing.
At least not leftists as defined by USA leftists.
And we are talking about USA society. Or western society. I assumed.

How do you think the left, will suppress religion? You don't trust the constitution? Or the USSC?

Religion has no political power, or they shouldn't. So they are no alternative to anything political.

Religion also, can not tolerate any alternative source to authority. Isn't that why you make false claims about so call left?

They called themselves leftists and today's left seems to resemble the Old Left pretty well.
No I don't. The left can and will subvert both.

Your statement that religion should have no political power is the proof of your desire to suppress religion. You claim that religion should be strictly personal. People who are religious do not believe that. (Buddhists maybe do, actually.) Hence you need to suppress them.

    As I said, made up.

I have faith in the system. And if the left can subvert both, so can the right.

Well, I support the constitution and the fact we have freedom of religion and from if we choose is something you should support. Unless you are trying to subvert the constitution.

I am for suppressing no one's beliefs. If they are not infringing upon mine or anyone else's beliefs.

If religions are to have political power, then they need to be taxed like a business. If they want to remain tax exempt. They remain political exempt.

Jefferson's metaphor of a wall of separation has been cited repeatedly by the U.S. Supreme Court. In Reynolds v. United States (1879) the Court wrote that Jefferson's comments "may be accepted almost as an authoritative declaration of the scope and effect of the [First] Amendment." In Everson v. Board of Education (1947), Justice Hugo Black wrote: "In the words of Thomas Jefferson, the clause against establishment of religion by law was intended to erect a wall of separation between church and state."[3]

So modern "christians" promoting this crap are UnAmerican and counter to the law. They should be suppressed because they seek solely to limit the rights of others.

Socialism has failed everywhere it's been tried. It isn't because our socialists haven't had their shot at it. Central Control of the economy leads to Central Control of the people ,,,, Maoism, Stalinism, Communism ,,, by any name you want to give it, it leads to failure. It starts with attacks on the free market, then control of the free market. We see a microcosm today, starting with over-regulation of housing in places like Los Angeles. Complaints about rent led to rent controls led to housing shortages led to a spike in rent led to homelessness. If there were no options, people would rebel and the police state would have to crack down.

People do have options, so they are leaving to vote in the same flavor of losing politics that destroyed Los Angeles.

Ay, there's the rub. The baker's right to practice his religion by not baking homosexual's wedding cakes falls before the leftists demand that he must to respect the homosexuals rights. The Leftists conception of rights always wins and the religious rights always fail. Thus is religion suppressed.

And here you are amending the Constitution to restrict religious rights. Taxing them is inhibiting the free exercise of religion guaranteed by the 1st Amendment, not to mention free speech and free assembly.

And anyway, only the state should be free to express opinions. Neither parents nor a religious body should be allowed speech to contradict central control. How else will the totalitarian state be created and maintain control?

It's really not that big of a stretch to make though. For example when prayer is taken out of school who is behind it?

Another example when divorce rules were made more lenient who was behind it?

    1969 California family law act

Child support rules that get parents fighting over children like commodities?

1974 Title IV-D of the Social Security Act was a big one and that was written by a Democrat the bill is Hr17045
