Okay, okay, but academia and unionland and government isn't the real world. The vast mojority of AmeriCANs never saw a paycheck they didn't sweat for and work hard for, like this good man.
Do you know how many jobs we're talking about when we combine all of academia, union, and government jobs? Me either, but it's gotta be a whole buttload. There are PLENTY of people in America who are gettin' money for nothing, and chicks for free.
Depends on the field. In the sciences, grad asssistants are almost slave labor, and they are working 20-30 hour weeks, in addition to their own scholarly work (which should be another 40-50 hours). Outside of the sciences, I really don't know.
Without a doubt, that is my experience as well. In fact, it tends to be true worldwide, not just in the United States. Being a great parent is no easy feat. The most important job for me would be anyone that can invent easier and better ways to do things. Technology. Having computer systems control the flight surfaces on a modern day fighter aircraft is just amazing. purchasing groceries and products on the web and having them delivered is just amazing. Having my car route me to where I need to be and to never get lost is just amazing.
The most important job will always be the one that feeds your family, pays your bills, and suits your abilities, and your conscience. Whatever one does well, is the most important job at some point.
STEM gets a pass, as always. STEM separates the wheat from the chaff. There's a reason why people like AOC start off in STEM, but finish elsewhere.
Why would you just make up crap like that? She hasn't even been around long enough for anyone to know that. So 100% certainty that you post lies.
AOC was a science nerd girl in high school, and Intel awarded her a scholarship to BU that was specifically intended to get more more females(especially minority females) into STEM fields. But math is like *tee hee* hard, and so that didn't go as planned. I'll be expecting your apology forthwith.
She's another idiot, who was told by the idiots that "educated" her, how "brilliant" she was every time she spouted off the crap they promote. She graduated, with honors, from a decent University, with an economics degree, yet thinks she can cover a multi-trillion dollar boondoggle by simply printing money. Apparently BU never covered hyper-inflation during her course of economics classes? WTH? NEW SOCIALIST “IT GIRL” NEEDS TO HIRE NEW SOCIALIST WRITERS: It Sure Seems Like AOC Was Being Propped Up By Her Former Chief of Staff. “The interesting thing about the Green New Deal,” Saikat Chakrabarti, the ghost writer of the Green Nude Eel told the Washington Post shortly before walking the plank, “is it wasn’t originally a climate thing at all..we really think of it as a how-do-you-change-the-entire-economy thing.”
That has nothing to do with what you said. So now you are misdirecting, which is lying, to divert attention from your first lie.
Where is your proof that she didn’t continue because math was hard? Is your opinion based on sexism in general or just some dumb obsession with AOC?
The most important jobs are often the most overlooked, the blue collar workers that drive industry and keep things moving. I’d also say those that work in education have a huge responsibility and are not compensated well for it, especially in areas where school is an escape from dire circumstances at home.
Relax, white knights. I just pointed out that she she started out in STEM, was granted a generous scholarship towards that goal, but she did NOT graduate with a STEM degree. If you know otherwise, then, by all means, set me straight. The thing about math being hard was a dumb joke I made, but the math is usually the "weed out" that ends many a STEM hopeful. I don't know for a fact why AOC dropped the STEM aspirations. Maybe she refused to believe the math professors when they told her that pie are squared, when she knew damned well that pies are round. That was another dumb joke for you to get huffy about, Sir Savahoes.
At least you acknowledge it was a dumb joke. You can’t get pissy at people for thinking something so stupid was not meant as a joke. Maybe it’s because I went to a predominantly STEM university, but math didn’t weed people out. Internships and job opportunities made some people change focus. Who honestly gives a **** why she changed to economics? And that was actually funny. I’d hate to think you’re only capable of disparagingly stupid jokes.
Who honestly cares? Probably BU and Intel. They probably care about their efforts to get minorities and females into STEM fields being wasted on economics majors.
So why do you care? Because it’s AOC and it gives you a reason to get all worked up about it? I know a lot of people that took scholarships way back in ROTC that never did anything with them. Where’s the outrage for every other student this happens to?
