The nutty wall idea is a throwback from times when tyranny was accepted. Oppose the wall. There are much more effective ways.
--and it's those other ways that we desperately need. The good news is we're getting them, and high up on the list is simply the rule of law. Long over due.
I think you misunderstand me. The last thing I want for the future of our country is the semblance of tyranny. If we look at the Rio Grande and all we see is a wall with armed federal mercenaries, it would only give us the same atmosphere as the Berlin Wall. To prove that the anti-immigrant lobby does not really want a viable solution, let me give you one: Instead of a wall, let's legalize drugs. It's bound to happen anyway. We strike a deal with Mexico. They match us man for man and dollar for dollar for border security. Did you see that? I just doubled your manpower on the border at NO COST to the U.S.!!!!!! Now, let's talk profit from the deal. The U.S. taxes the drugs coming into the U.S. and Mexico levies a tax on the drugs as they leave. BOTH governments are incentivized to protect the border and it's profitable to be successful at it. Problem solved. Thank you.
Everyone is always looking for a place to dump their waste. I think we should start contracting to certain states in America and Mexico and charge by the truck load for their waste cover it with dirt and build a beautiful wall and park system. We could build roads and set up restrooms and concession stands. We could build boat ramps down to Rio Grande for boating and fishing. The park would be monitored with cameras, drones, sensors and agents. We could do this on both sides and improve the scenery. Hear in Virginia Beach we transform garbage into parks. Our first was called Mount Trashmore.
