Joe Biden’s progressive positions will not attract RINOs who are more like moderate Democrats.

If the Republicans had had the good sense to nominate John Kasich for President in 2016 he would now be in the second half of his second term.

As long as we are dispensing with making any arguments, to support our statements, my answer is: You are wrong.

That's fairly delusional, although I'll go along with the idea that Kasich would have made a great concession speech election night 2016 and everyone would say, "why didn't we see this guy during the campaign?"

He would have easily beaten Hillary.

So getting someone elected who has the right letter in front of their name is more about bragging rights?

LOL. You detect uncertainty, in the statement, "You are wrong?"

So, then, was it "wishful thinking," on your part, when you posted:

That actually sounds a lot more like wishful thinking, to my ears, than does, You are wrong.

My belief is simply common sense. Progressives aren't much liked by many liberals.

IMHO Kasich would have been an excellent President. He was outstanding as Governor of Ohio.

Kasich is a classic RINO which is why he wasn't popular with the R voters.

He was (and remains) immensely popular in Ohio, and can only be called a RINO by people who have no idea what the Republican party stood for before the Trump perversion.

That 9 percent, or so, of the GOP wouldn't vote for Trump (or DeSantis) anyway.

See, IMO, the underlying issue here is there is this vast minority of GOP members who want political power and political voice (while they claim they're for democracy, for example:roll:). I'll bet their presidential candidate is Jeb Bush.

Is Kasich a spender or a fiscal conservative?
    Washington Examiner
Kasich acknowledged the underlying reality — that Republican and independent voters who "fear Joe may turn sharp left and leave them behind." He then offered a completely vapid, meaningless reassurance that it wouldn't happen. "I don't believe that," he said, "because I know the measure of the man — reasonable, faithful, respectful. And you know, no one pushes Joe Biden around."

You are apparently unfamiliar with his record. Kasich is very much a fiscal conservative.

How fiscally conservative would Kasich (or you be) when arming the Ukrainians?

Billions for defense, but not one cent for tribute. Kasich is a Ronald Reagan Republican; he would spend to defeat the current slumlord version of the evil empire.

We need people like him if we want to exit the insanely divisive environment. Romney would be ok too.

That IS the old record. He was very much a deficit hawk in the 90's. But most of those young guns who came in with the Gingrich revolution have either gone over to the other side or are long since out of power.

Kasich never went "over to the other side."
