Way too preachy, like Elizabeth Warren. I don't need any public official fussing at me.

    Repair? Repair WHAT?

Look, this "damage" is almost all in your mind. Jobs are up, markets stable, ISIS on the run. He's promised not to take action against the Dreamers and his suggestion that Congress -- not he -- legalize them, it's perfectly reasonable.

He said some inappropriate things about women, before the election. And he's apologized for it.

Have you ever said anything inappropriate when the cameras weren't rolling?

He's got women and minorities in his cabinet.

He "empathized" (as though that's a constitutional mandate) with hurricane victims and made a deal with "Nancy and Chuck" to finance their aid.

So why don't you guys climb off the high horses, cut out the drama, and give the man a chance, as even Obama, and now Diane Feinstein, asked us all to do?

    He's from Jersey.
    It's a Jersey thing.

She's definitively said she won't do it, but I wouldn't mind if she did; I like her MUCH better than Barry. But after 2016, I've determined to never, under any circumstances, vote for a Democrat again. What was done to Bernie is unforgivable. But she might have a better chance than anyone else they can come up with, so I'd wish her well.

    She's smart and she's good..

I don't care about parties anymore. The most important issue for all of us is the shrinking middle class.

The left doesn't trust her, and she doesn't have traction with the Clintonists.

    It'll be Kamala.

'The left' is pretty big. Bernie Sanders seems a big fan and his supporters - of whom there are many - seem to like her too.

Kamala is just another Obama, IMO. A corporate shill posing as a reformer.

I would posit that more on the left would trust Tulsi over her.

Some good points, but the left - smaller than you may think - is distrustful of Gabbard's opportunistic political behavior, right-wing sympathies/past far-right stances, and Bannon's huge crush on her, among other issues.

So she can't win the left over, and can't win the center either, at least not in the way Harris can.

They'll go with Harris, as the left won't support either of them, but at least Harris will track better in center red.

A large portion of the U.S. people are now anti-establishment, anti-war, anti-money in politics and pro-single-payer, minimum living wage and so on - basically Bernie's policies.

If the corporate shills are still running the show next year and still wedded to Clintonite policies then these folks may not support them, and the Dems might do badly again in the mid-terms.

Then the real progressives - like Bernie, Tulsi, Nina Turner etc (I don't consider Harris to be one) have a shot at taking control leading up to 2020, IMO.

But it won't be easy as the Democrat party is part of the establishment, and owned by the elites..

Again some excellent points, and Harris is surely a faux progressive, but so is Gabbard, and she's perceived as such by the left. The center won't trust her, and since the Dems are dead with the left since they f*cked Bernie over, they have no choice but to appeal to that center they'd hoped to capture with the fatally flawed Clinton.

So the Dems are doubling down on capturing the center, and have a better shot with Harris than they did with Clinton or will have with Gabbard, so it won't be Tulsi.

But it's all academic; Trump - assuming he runs - will win re-election in 2020.

And the Dems will flail and fail badly in 2018 as well; Trump hysteria has backfired badly on them, and they're still utterly clueless as to how much damage they're inflicting on themselves.

Too bad the Democrats don't let the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party run the show.
That means abandoning Wall St. for Main St.
Bill Clinton, Obama, are rated among the most conservative Democratic Party presidents. Look it up. I call them, Republican lite.
And centrist from both parties which is the majority of both party's leadership,
    RepubloCrats.

We need a real Democrat. Al Franken is one. Kamela Harris is part of the machine.

But isn't the majority of people in this country in the middle? I mean normally the extreme candidate does not win. It took a truly flawed candidate for Trump to win. If the Democrats put up a not centrist candidate dont they risk just alienating a majority of the undecided middle?

I'd be pulling for Deez Nuts if Trump wasn't going to remain. After all, Deez Nuts did pretty well for awhile.

I believe he had his legs amputated, that would make it hard for him to run.

Kamela Harris is a product of Bay Area Dynastic politics.
    :angered:
She is unaccomplished. Can anyone name an accomplishment?

Her senate race was against another Democrat, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez.
Sanchez's resume demonstrates she was much more qualified for the Senate seat than Kamela but for some strange reason ;) (who is the blacker Democrat) Obama campaigned for one Democrat over another.

For some strange reason, considering California's population lives in the south,
old Bay Area Dynasties run both parties. An outsider like Republican Governor Pete Wilson previous accomplished mayor of San Diego is sabotaged by his own party as was Jimmy Carter, and Trump today. The Arnold was an outsider too and sabotaged.
Trump has been masterful in working with Democrats.
Chief Executives should work with the other party when their own party goes to war against them.

Yet, the left claims she is the female version of BO the Peep. I guess they are Right. As BO peep had no accomplishments until he was given the Presidency.

And no accomplishments as President except
    making himself very, very wealthy.

Imagine. Harry Truman was so poor upon retirement from his Presidency
Congress passed a special President's retirement for him because of the
embarrassment of having an ex-prez live in relative poverty.
Oh for a "man" as honest as Truman in politics today.
Not a "woman". Women sell their souls in politics 100%.
Witness Warren's conversion from Progressive to Liberal ala Hillary.
And Hillary, can you imagine any other person so without a soul?
Wasserman-Schulz certainty knew what she was doing was "wrong", yet.

    Don't bring in Trump.
No tit for tat on this argument.
McCain might be a better example and truer.

I don't disagree, but a dude like Franken is just unelectable at that level.

His smarm is off the charts.
