because they're back. The 17 year Invasion to the Northeast of
Cicadas. The " Noise " is resounding and like being on a different planet.
I kinda like it. It is soothing like the sound of a vacuum sweeper to a baby.
Of course there's the mess. All those Cicadas shells.Plus the buggers
themselves. They'll invariable get in your car or at least on yer windshield.
I hope they can see to making at least a couple Donald Trump Rallies.
Maybe have a male & female cicada try and mate while on Donald Trump's
    mop. Now ... that's there's a Miracle , I say ,I say. That'd be a Miracle.
I just dare the Donald to try and silence them Cicadas.

Oh I heard about this... can't you record them and post it here....maybe I should try you tube. How strange every 17 years, why is that? is it their life cycle? what do they do the rest of the time? Do they emerge to mate only...Do they only shed their shells once in the 17 year life cycle? I wonder why 17 years... is there a pattern, you know like for example a weather pattern.

Mystery Cicada Swarms Emerge Across Maryland In 2017
May 16, 2017 - Cicadas are supposed to stick to a 13- or 17-year cycle, but swarms have emerged this spring. Why are they showing up across Maryland?

There are different sorts of cicadas. There are 17 year cicadas, and 13 year cicadas and yearly cicadas. Read the article you quoted. It says that they emerge to mate and lay eggs. The eggs then hatch, create nymphs which burrow into the ground. Eventually they come out in a summer. Basically, biologist think they do this to confuse predators. There is no way enough predators can live to kill all the cicadas.

About 19 years ago, my wife and I visited my brother's family in Nashville, TN, when two different cycle cicadas (two different species) both emerged in the same summer. There were cicadas of different sizes, and they were everywhere.
