The Oscars have not been announced yet. And I will ignore them as usual

But IMHO the following categories are the only ones needed.

1: Movie that made the most money.

    2: Best Remake.

    3: Best Sequel.

4: Best adaptation of a Comic Book.

5: Most politically correct recasting of a traditional white or male character.

When these 5 are given out, then everybody can watch the Hollywood types patting themselves on the back.

I never watch any awards shows. Why are we celebrating people that earn millions for being our jesters while Police, teachers, military personnel, medics...etc make peanuts compared?

I figured I would bump this, since the Oscars are less that 24 hours away.

    According to the "experts":

    Picture/Director

    Roma/Cuaron

    Actor/Actress/S.Actor/S. Actress

    Malek/Close/Ali/King

Green Book for Best Pic and Colman for Best Actress.

    A couple of upsets.

They're almost one a week now. I've often posited the question of why anybody other than those in the industry can have the least bit of interest in these luvvie-fests. Actually the BBC is obsessed by the 'red carpet' (although probably only as part of the dumbing down project): speaking of the BBC, I've lost count of the number of times during tv news broadcasts the BBC has shown that scene of some fat broad in Elizabethan costume who says the 'memorable' ( :roflol:) line, 'Look at me, look at me . . . close your eyes when you look at me!'
