You know I always get a chuckle when I read posts by some members decrying the supposed coming of of what they claim to be a Female Dominant Disaster!! LOL!!

Any female members on this forum know how ridiculous that sounds along with male members who can actually get a date!!

Face it...our society is VERY Male Dominant and I suppose the weak males have issue with women just trying to have equal rights.

However I am not one of those weak men.

Males are dominant in the business world and as CEO's in the baby boomer generation. However, millenial women are outperforming men in college. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/09/education/09college.html?pagewanted=all The question is will many of these women give up having and raising children for a lucrative career? The gender roles are even reversing with more "soccer dads." http://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2014/06/05/growing-number-of-dads-home-with-the-kids/ Barack Obama was encouraging for young black men in what some call a white man's world, I imagine Hillary will be the same for women in what some call a men's world.

Well that is up to the individual.

As a guy I certainly do not have anyone questioning why I don't stay home and raise children.

When can do anything they want besides rename a manhole a womanhole or get killed on the front lines. They have more rights than men, and have 1/9 the incarseration rate dispute committing half the crimes. Only by having kids do they get behind, if they choose to stay home. Even then they can get permanent alimony for just 10 years of marriage.

It's up to the individual - but isn't the primary reason for things like the wage gap? Young women have faster earnings growth than men, but at the time when they start having children is when the growth of women's earnings drops off, but the man's continues to increase and quickly surpasses that of women.

But why do men earn so much more, even right out of college? Well, it has to do with the degree choices. Women gravitate tend to gravitate towards majors based on their interest, whereas men tend to gravitate towards majors based on their earning potentials. If you are willing to admit that it is up to the individual, why don't you see the majors chosen by men and women (and the earning differences caused by that) as just "up to the individual", and chalk up the gap to individual choices?

As far as staying home - I think people are confusing social pressures with individual desires. Women aren't so weak and feeble as to cave into any social pressure, they are just as intellectually capable as men, and no more or less susceptible. It turns out that, according to gallup, the majority of women with children say they would prefer to stay home, and two in four women without children said they would prefer the role of "homemaker". Not what 'society' tells them to want, this is actually what they want. This stands in stark contrast to the number of mothers who are actually stay at home moms. Of the 56% who would prefer to be stay at home moms, only half (29%) are. What does this tell you? That society is pressuring them to be stay at home moms? Hardly, because only half of those who want to be are.

Or would it perhaps tell us that women often prefer to be stay at home moms, and many can't afford to be? Hence why women highly value wealth/income in potential partners, whereas men don't. It subconscious evolutionary psychology.

The only thing I am talking about is the fear in some weak men specific to women.

So you recognize that men are incarcerated at 14x the rate of women, receive 68% longer sentences, that women are 50% more likely to go to college, that women win child custody in roughly 90% of cases, that young college women outearn their male peers in urban areas by nearly 10% (until they have kids), that no woman has ever had to sign up for the draft, that when two drunk people have "consensual" the woman is called a victim and the man a rapist, that more than 90% of workplace deaths are male, that women report higher job satisfaction than men, that women in certain fields are more than twice as likely to get a job as an equally qualified male just because of her sex, that women can get all kinds of scholarships because of their genitalia that aren't available to men - and you think that ours is a "VERY Male Dominated" society, that denies equality to women?

Please tell me what rights men have that women don't.

How is it that men run the show? Please explain what you mean by that.

And you don't see the reasons for this??

You don't think that men will protect women and not hold them to the same standards?

    No, I think you're wrong.

Well let's see now, the majority of voters are women. In a democracy, that means women basically decide who will decide when to go to war, and whether we will be drafted, and which gender will be drafted.

    women?

OK...men decided that only men could be drafted.

And last time I checked every single U.S. President has been a man...although that could change.

    Interesting discussion AA.

I was raised by strong women, worked with strong women and married a strong woman so I do scoff at the idea that they are a weaker sex.

That being said, there is but a fine line between species success and extinction. Nature determined in this binary gender system that one should be awash in testosterone. This differentiation nature deemed necessary for survival. I've come to the conclusion that we are different in role but equal in importance, nature obviously agrees, we both still exist.

The question you ask, is it inherent in females the ability to lead the group to success? Is it in their nature? In general, I don't know. Specifically, individually, in some, yes. Oddly females in western civilization have the path to lead by majority but curiously they don't take it. Why?

Perhaps society would be better run by women but you'll have to suppress, artificially, the testosterone in men. Nature may not like that but we shall see.

    Cheers

Men who are in office representing the majority of voters, who happen to be women. You've never heard the term "white knight" before?
