Trump is right- the election was stolen. So long as he still believes it, he should not concede.

    Define
    concede
    [kənˈsēd]
    VERB
    1. admit that something is true or valid after first denying or resisting it.
"I had to concede that I'd overreacted" ·
      admit · [more]
      • admit (defeat) in a contest.
        "he conceded defeat"
      • admit defeat in (a contest).
"ready to concede the gold medal"
    2. surrender or yield (something that one possesses).
"to concede all the territory he'd won"
      synonyms:
      surrender · [more]

Gore in 2000: "While I strongly disagree with the [supreme] court’s decision, I accept it.”" Should he have continued to bellyache, refused to accept defeat, and attempted to persuade Congress to overturn the result? That was a much closer election than this one.

Of course he should've, if he believed the election were stolen. To do otherwise is to abandon consent of the governed.

... tho I suspect Bush simply cheated better than Gore.

The day I'd find myself agreeing with Democrats be the day I'd start seriously worrying about my mental health.

Arguing that the election was stolen is beyond lunnacy. You should try to convince us normal folks that the moon is composed of blue cheese.

You don't think there's any bigger principle at stake, like the stability of US democracy?

The New York Post is hardly a Democrat Party organ. What are you talking about?

The only principle that could possibly matter more than consent of the governed in America is individual liberty. The stability of US democracy is squarely founded upon both of these. Without them, its the stability of the US kleptocracy.

Sure but Benedict Arnold Trump cares not about the nation's stability or of US democracy or our Republic.

In Gore's case the SCOTUS ruled on the constitutional issue and said that courts cannot change the rules of the elections that the state legislature sets. A correct ruling. In Trumps case he is saying the same thing and SCOTUS has not heard that case. So byvusing that as your test case Trump should continue to contest.

Trump has poisoned the well by his constant complaints of fraud with the scantest of evidence, leading to majority of his supporters believing it. It looks like he is deliberately damaging the "consent of the governed" just to salve his ego. Failing that, he is delusional. The opinion of the courts has to matter at some point in all this.

Those people who believe that the Trumpocity was robbed of the election remind me of those Japanese soldiers who stayed hidden in the jungles until I believe 1972 or 1974 believing that Japan was still fighting on.

Self deception is a sad thing to see.

Wonder how long some Southerners believed that the SCOTUS would declare slavery legal again?

Stability requires perceptive consent. And LOTS of people perceive the reality they actually visually watched. The polls were one way (with Trump holding very large leads) to suddenly seeing them evaporate. There isn't a logical explanation for that. So, the perception for many is that this was manipulated in a way that suggests that the outcomes weren't possible unless there was widespread substantive cheating. As for what then promotes stability, who on the winning team in any way have attempted to otherwise satisfy an answer to this? Other than, shut up and color in the corner, what have democrats actually said that otherwise allows those who feel slighted and cheated to resolve their anger here?

This is what happens in other countries. Not the US. This is how elections are delivered in third world nations controlled by their dictators. This isn't what happens in the US. And frankly, there are zero good explanations for what folks saw. There is just a ton of internet and media bullying that never even asked the question of "what happened" and leapt immediately to, shut up instead.

That isn't exactly the recipe for stability.

~50 million American voters believe the election was stolen. That means ~50 million American voters believe our court system is complicit in covering it up, which means ~50 million American voters believe our democratic system is now dead.

    Thats a lot of 'lunatics'.

It matters a lot. We've lost both our elections and our justice system. Thats a dangerous situation.

Are you seriously arguing that the mail-in votes being counted last could not be the reason for those big shifts? Frankly, Biden has been pretty restrained in all this, letting the court cases play out. But what more do you expect democrats to do? When courts consistently find there is insufficient evidence of fraud, why should those claims be indulged? The third world analogy is pretty ironic, given we have a president refusing to accept an election result, and doing everything he can to overturn it. Remember Mugabe?

    Trump is WRONG.

    The Election WASN'T "STOLEN".

    Biden Won (Fair and Square).
    ^And, Everybody Knows That.
People either Accept REALITY (or they don't).

Biden Won (Fair and Square) and Nothing Was "Stolen".
    ^That is REALITY. Period.

The NY Post is (obviously) correct in their assessment.
But, I fully expect Trump to keep going down this Delusional (and Destructive) Path.

Well this explains a lot. No need to read or try to comprehend what is being said - just discover that it comes from a Dem and say the opposite.
