    Weird question!

I've donated my n95 mask cache.

    I don't have any ventilators!

Remove government barriers to entry for hospitals.
Remove draconian medicare regulations and reporting requirements.
    Maybe you'll have more hospitals.

It is a several example of the flu, could kill 4-5 x as many as the flu does annual. Might not. No one knows just yet. Like any other crisis all you can do is either give up and jump off a bridge or push thru it. Moaning and whining about it does zero good.

It'll be over shortly. It will peak in a few weeks and then begin to decline. I expect this to die down sometime in May.

Of course they aren't going to put their resources towards non-emergency procedures at the moment... That doesn't mean that they are overrun.

Breweries have shifted to making sanitizers, for example. Other companies have shifted to making ventilators.

Capitalism is by far the best type of economic system to change and adapt quickly. Greed is indeed a powerful motivator for bad things , but also for good things.

The reason you can still go to the grocery store and buy things is because of “greed”.

The moaning and whining is for political effect, selling TV commercials in hard economic times, and getting clicks.

It's not the flu. It's more like pneumonia than the flu. People who die from it, die drowning from lack of oxygen. I'd be hard pressed to have an opinion if I hadn't taken the very small amount of time it takes to learn about what this actually is.

Yawn. In comparison to the death rate. It’s right there in my post. Don’t be so lazy next time and read it before you weakly attack it.

Death rate has been running around 4.5%. This is nothing like the flu.

Hopefully the social distancing will work so well that all you naysayers can scream, "told ya so!" That would be fantastic. We know close contact is disastrous. 700 of the 3700 people on the Diamond Princess contracted the disease during their two week quarantine. That's an 18.9% infection rate.

Well, it's not a violent disease that rips people apart, stabs them, shoots them, and bleeds them out. It's not bloody.

It's a new viral disease, primarily a pneumatic disease, that caught the world with no effective means of protection or cure. That's being worked on.

Next time around it won't get so far so fast.

I didn't think it was literal. Sure, you're right - people won't be bleeding out in the streets. Carry on.

Thread title was designed as all his other silly post are to try and scare people and place blame on Trump. Same guy who predicted more American deaths from C19 than from WWII.

Correct. It can quickly adapt to changes in supply/demand (without government involvement), such as what's occurring right now. It is also the only economic system that can create wealth. Socialism can only steal wealth from others.

Yup, you got it right! People love to focus on the bad effects of greed, while conveniently forgetting the good effects of it.

Nah, pretty soon people will realize that they aren't using TP at a much faster rate than they did pre-Wuhan corona, maybe a bit more with everybody home, and they will decide that they have more than enough. And like magic, paper products will be back on the shelves.

This quite literally IS a flu, dude. By nature of most flus, the death rate is going to be severely inflated due to many people just staying home and treating their mild symptoms OTC (never getting tested).

So, out of the people having severe enough symptoms to actually seek treatment at a medical facility (and, of course, this will also include overly afraid people unnecessarily getting tested as well as out-of-touch hollywood celebrities unnecessarily getting tested just so they can draw attention to themselves because they are more important than everyone else), only a few percent of them are dying.

In terms of the population of our country, only 0.00012% of our population is dying each day from this flu.

There's no way to compare it to if we didn't social distance since we cannot go back in time and redo this all over again. I think the better way to react to this would've been to keep elderly people social distanced and to allow the younger population to continue running the economy.

Apparently not as disastrous as MSM acts like...

... which, for such a small stuffy location, is quite LOW. I'm surprised that ONLY 1 out of 5 people contracted it during that time.

I am surprised you can only see extremes. Yelling out "bloodshed" while people are already anxious, is irresponsible and in extremely poor taste.

No, COVID-19 is not "quite literally" a flu.

It is caused by a coronavirus.

Flu strains are caused by a different and separate family of viruses - orthomyxovirus.
