That is only part of it - you are omitting one of the major reasons - That international corporations are allowed so siphon money out of the US through tax loopholes. In other words - even if all other costs where the same - Say a shoe made for 20 dollars (all in) and sold for 100 = 80 dollars profit. The US manufacturer pays tax on 80 dollars whereas the US company making the shoe somewhere else only pays tax on a small fraction of that amount. I have explained how this is done to you previously.

Actually you are right .. that is part of the problem as well - we like to outsource our pollution to other nations - especially people like Cortez - even though her new green deal states that this is not to be done - yet she tries to block the Keystone which does exactly that - not building the Keystone will change US fuel consumption by one drop which means we need to get the oil from somewhere else - as in high polluting nations such as Nigeria. The second issue was our insane Enviro Regulations. This is a bureaucratic nightmare - and exercise in pyramid building. There was no such thing as a dumb regulation to these people - the more the merrier - creating more work - and thus requiring more hiring - and more managers. Its a nasty cycle of nepotism. I am speaking from experience here having worked in the sector (cleaning up hydrocarbon contaminated sites) for over a decade. Its not like we need no enviro regulations - but the EPA turned into a clown show and there was no oversight.

Not so. America has lost it's manufacturing base because of the American consumers constant mantra of "It must be cheap", and the only way the manufacturers could make it cheaper was to have it made overseas. Go to Walmart and find me a coffee maker or toaster that's actually made in the USA.
India which has a low current base has a GDP growth rate over 7 like China had as it began it's growth spurt in the 1970's.
