Wait, didn't the left want to open the government and work out an immigration deal at a later date? We all know what that means. Talk about vague, how about talking about non existent?

Negotiate? With who? Trump stayed in DC while Pelosi went to Hawaii, mind you the government was already shut down. Then some democrats took their families to Puerto Rico and took over 100 lobbyists with them. And if Trump didn't cancel Pelosi's flight, she'd be on a European vacation at this moment with 93 family members and friends. And of the dems who stayed in DC, some of them refused to meet with Trump. It's your side that's refusing to negotiate.

The reason they won’t negotiate on the wall is closely related to the reason trump is so strongly pushing it.

The wall was, perhaps, THE major plank in trumps election platform.

The democrats cannot allow trump to make good on his campaign promises. They will do anything they can to prevent him from achieving anything, then they will beat him up in 2020 for failing to deliver.

They don’t care about Mexicans or border security, they don’t care about layed off government workers... they only care about preventing MAGA.

If it were needed, we'd see a valid justification.

Instead, we get hate for Hispanics, blatant lies about drugs and violence, assaults on families (even taking away their children), attempts to end our asylum law, racial and religions assaults on legal immigration, etc. - at a time when the number of undocumented aliens isn't growing and the main way into the US is NOT by running that border.

    We DO need immigration reform.

But, Trump has been monumentally OPPOSED to that.

I don't see any Hispanic hate. Mentioning that over 80% of the illegals are single males between 16 and 30 is not hate. Mentioning there will be some very bad people among them is not hate. It's called being realistic and not naive.

Well apparently they have to negotiate with Anne Coulter or Rush Limbaugh because they call the shots and they were on holiday also. "And if Trump didn't cancel Pelosi's flight" you forgot to add "in a political stunt/hissy fit". How can the Dems (or anyone) negotiate with Trump when he'll flip like a fish out of water....and then say it someone's else's fault.
Please...."stayed in DC"..for once. This guy is gone more than anyone.

The polls show that this hurts the dems as much as Trump and the Republicans get very little blame. Trump isn't a career politician so long term that means only the Dems will pay for this.

I am not fond of the Republicans. I'd prefer many of the democrat policies preTrump that were pro worker and higher tax for the rich. I'd rather see them compromise and get a deal rather than destroy their party.

good ol' high taxes and socialism.

That's a losing argument, dude. That's why democrats need 3rd world immigrants. Can't sell that garbage to people who actually work for a living.

I agree that the wall is IMMORAL. Not for the reasons Pelosi would cite however. It is not the - keeping people out- that I find immoral.

A wall does not just keep people out. It also keeps people in !! I do not want to live in a cage.

Socialism ? You mean "wealth redistribution" Red Establishment loves wealth redistribution even more than Blue - and that is not an easy bar to hit.

No, you just want your illegals getting in.

Has Trump revoked your passport? No, he hasn't.

Immoral? Was she sitting on her moral high horse when she stalled action on curtailing credit card swipe fees while she cashed in on the VISA IPO at Americans' expense? She was never prosecuted for her corruption nor did she pay a penny back to the people she robbed. I get it. Her landscaping help walks around the fence Democrats voted for in 2006. It would be an inconvenience for them to have to climb, delayed and risk being caught.

Billionaires don't 'need' to work for a living. The problem is that the dems say they want to tax billionaires but really they sneak them tax exemptions and while raising tax on the middle class as well as the upper and instead of directing all the funds to build an infrastructure that benefits all people and businesses, they give handouts and waste a lot on special interests.

Neither party is perfect but at least the old Dem party used to stand for a little of something good.

Nice lie. He's already come down on the price tag by 80%. You in return have given nothing.

wut wut? Is English your second language or is it that you do not understand the word "Socialism" ?

Perhaps looking up the definition of the words you use might help sort out your confusion !

Sorry if this is a daft question, but what exactly is the Democrats' answer to this immigration problem?

What is nonsense. Don't blame me for your inability to figure out that a wall can be used to keep people in the country.

Have you never heard about the wall separating East and West Germany during the commie era ?
