I was prompted to post here by this "The Scottish independence debate is being reshaped by the pandemic" in The Washington Post - 28th May 2020.

Sturgeon cannot be trusted to save us from this pandemic, not trusted by Scots and certainly trusted not by others.

Sturgeon was Health Minister and Deputy First Minister from 2007 and is more responsible for Scotland's unpreparedness for any pandemic and the scale of the death toll here than anyone!

Anti-science traitors like Sturgeon put the Queen first.

Sturgeon sings "God Save the Queen" while her police arrest republicans and scientists as political prisoners of the UK.

    SCOTTISH INDEPENDENCE

I write as a supporter of Scottish independence many times arrested as a political prisoner and censored by the police and courts misgoverned by the UK's puppet First Ministers of Scotland.

The UK and SNP royalists hate me for being a scientist and a republican supporting Scots' rights to elect our own head of state, opposing the monarchy, calling for the Queen and her family to be exiled from Scotland to apply pressure for the republican revolution and to win Scottish independence.

I'm not a fake "republican" who thinks the Queen is a "great" head of state.

I wouldn't advise having that Queen for my worst enemy, never mind for an ally country.

Please Political Forum readers never again support that Queen or any monarch.

Please Americans never again invite that Queen to the White House.

Please never again visit the Queen in Buckingham palace.

Sturgeon and her predecessor as SNP leader and First Minister Alex Salmond are against nuclear weapons - explicitly if nukes are stationed in Scotland by our allies - but the SNP say nothing to oppose nuclear weapons targeted against Scotland by a potential enemy. Salmond now has a show on Russia Today.

So Sturgeon's photograph of her two-minute silence to mark the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day (illustrated in the Washington Post opinion piece linked to) she does only because other Scots are marking the anniversary but not because the SNP can be relied upon as an anti-fascist ally.

On the whole I think Scotland and the Scottish people have done very well with Covid 19. I am hopeful with the way Sturgeon has been going about things and if people understand the necessity for social distancing/masks at this time, that we could get very near getting it out of Scotland. If not it may be necessary to keep the 5 mile rule until this is achieved.

If this works one thing will need to be done until England gets it act together -the border will need to be shut. Given that New York is refusing to allow people in States in the US where it is rising into NY unless they do 14 days isolation, I do not see that that would need to be a problem ;)

We have now been advised not to go to Covid19 hotspots in England and are also asking people from there, not to come here.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-53608460

Nicola has previously threatened to stop people crossing the border but has also come under pressure not to do that . Really I think we should now, not wait until we are having to go into a lockdown again. I think we would be able to keep things stable here with minimun infections kept in order by contact and trace. The kids are going back to school next week and provided we keep Covid out, we could get more or less back to things as normal with basic preventative measures. For any who still believe this only affects the very old, there is growing evidence of it having with a lot of people including some young, serious on going health problems, not known as yet for how long, possible life long so this is a serious illness the full extent of which we do not as yet know but the possibility of long term lung and heart problems are beginning to show signs as well as the deaths of a fair number of those who had Septis and then recovered so we, Scotland, should do whatever we can to keep it oot.

You SNP nuts and your Cranky leader cannot be trusted to be independent... I just hope BoJo has got a plan to reduce Holyrood's devolved powers to a absolute minimum just to piss the SNP off even more...

You jocks stay on the otherside of the Scottish Marches and sup your Dragons soup.... Except Count Dankula, he is welcome in England anytime!..

The way I see things, Scotland has been insulated from a lot of the problems of the UK.
Due to its northerly location and more sparse population.

To frame it in other words, Scotland is already kind of a crappy place in several ways, but this fact is what prevents it from getting worse. Because it is not a destination region. You don't get lots of people coming there bringing their crime, problems, and disease.
