First of all, our military doesn't exactly see Russia as friendly.

Secondly, apparently conservatives are into authoritarian rulers. Liberals easily see the likes of Putin to be an enemy of freedom loving people everywhere, especially to his own people. Why can't conservatives?

But then, through my observations of having grown up around conservatives, and having to face them every time I attend family gatherings, it has long been my opinion that conservatives prefer authoritarians. After all conservatives are far more likely to hit their children and be supportive of harsh police tactics.

Actually, IF evidence that he worked with Russia comes out, it falls well within the definition of treason. It would be working with a foreign government to undermine cybersecurity in the US and undermine US sovereignty by helping them interfere in our elections. It definitely fits within the definition of treason.

However, If something did happen, I doubt he knew anything until well after the fact. He is pretty much the dumbest, man on earth, and he's unable to keep his mouth shut and tends to incriminate himself with every other word he speaks. Hell, he even admitted to the IRS that he embezzled money from the Trump Foundation to pay off his legal fees from the lawsuit against Trump University. He tried to take the money he embezzled off of his taxes, and got caught. He thinks he's smarter than everyone else and everyone else is too stupid to catch his crimes. So, I am sure if something was going on they went out of their way to keep him out of the loop and ensure that he knew nothing.

Even if Trump knew nothng of any collusion with Russia, the fact that he's openly impeded the investigation would be enough for both impeachment and felony obstruction charges if something is uncovered.

I don't care about the Russia thing. No one I know cares about it either. No one cares if President Trump did business with Russians. Russia wasn't even considered the root of all evil until the Dems began trying to blame their failure last November on SOMETHING besides themselves.

 

Remember, as the former FBI Director Comey explained, even if a person broke the law, destroys evidence to hide it, signs that s/he as read and understands the law, and lies about it, a person still can not be charged unless it proven the person did what s/he did specifically for the purpose of committing a criminal act fully knowing it was a criminal act at the time and did so wanting to commit that criminal act to do a criminal act.

Unless they have a recording of the President or one of his people saying "I want to commit a crime and the crime I am now going to commit is ______" no one can be prosecuted. The person can commit a crime dozens of times, lie about, destroy evidence,and have signed sh/he understands the law and still can not be charged according to Comey.
