The "social contract."

    I basically agree. The problems with the general social contract lie at the edges. For example, I live next door to a semi-professional rock band (they have paying gigs, but they aren't close to being able to quit their day jobs). They practice from about 5:30 to 9:00 pm on Wednesdays and Sundays (and occasional other days). It messes up my TV time on those days, as they are practicing approximately 25 feet from my TV. I hear all the bass notes/drum bangs. That said, legally, they can practice from 7 am to 10 pm. I don't complain about them anymore, as I do realize it could be worse. That said, how would you deal with that situation.

    Well that falls under #2 and #3: Keep your **** in your own box and don’t be a dick. Your neighbors should go find a legitimate rehearsal space.
