You're obviously unaware of the history of US coups in Latin America or elsewhere.

Bolivian entrepreneur Samuel Doria Medina is also the vice-presidential candidate alongside coup President Jeanine Áñez for the now delayed 2020 Bolivian presidential elections.

Yes reforms can be undone if the opposition comes back into power as the public gets amnesia. Plus the DP changed and stopped looking out for workers. They aided the GOP in dismantling the new deal economy .

Once the suffering reaches critical mass we will reform capitalism again out of necessity. And once again treat capitalism as to serve America and all working Americans instead of just a few wealthy. Emphasizing the importance of a large middle class. And the value of all labor.

We know how to regulate banks away from gambling casinos. And history proves it works. Deregs added back unacceptable risks that increased bank profits. After 50 years of regulations that gave us no financial led crashes.

What we see today is not sustainable. We will see a repeat of reforms as under FDR to save capitalism again from the excesses of sociopaths who owe no allegiance to any country..And with help from both parties have given us oligarchy, fascism. But there is greater suffering ahead that will cause the light bulbs to come on. And some unquestioned ideological beliefs will be questioned and the insanity they created will be seen..

Of course the DP will have to change back to what it was. A party for the common american. And it's not headed in that direction. It can be pro worker without being real deal socialism.

At my age I won't live to see it but my grandkids and great grandkids will.

The growing social unrest and violence we see growing isn't driven by cops and racism. Although that excuse is being used. Instead it is driven by economics and generations that will never own real assets like a home. Causing an angst that lies beneath these other factors.

Being a nation of low wage servants with few opportunities for upward mobility isn't sustainable. Having to of compete with cents on the dollar wages has created the piss poor America of today. A rush to the bottom.

lol, wow, all of us, huh? Somehow I doubt it.

I’m sure I would be just fine if it infected me. My wife would probably be in danger though.

sure, we should be cautious, but you seem to want to put life on hold. I certainly won’t. If it kills me, which I doubt it would or if it kills my wife, well, we’ll meet in our next incarnation.

what’s crazy is squandering life’s joys and experiences because you are so terrified of dying. We all die eventually anyway, no use in panicking over it.

Nobody's panicking over anything, but there's no reason to go playing golf in thunderstorms because they wouldn't cancel your tee time either.

The hard part for Americans to deal with is that this is the kind of thing where the main thing we are called upon to do is to look out for everyone else. That is, we best protect ourselves in these circumstances by protecting each other NOT directly protecting ourselves. Americans find this kind of situation really hard to understand, it's part of our culture.

If corporations actually ran the government, the government would be smaller, cheaper and far more efficient and effective. Fascism exists in Antifa, not in corporations. Your comments are backward, I'm afraid.

Now on to what you really meant to say. You dislike the fact that corporations bribe lawmakers. So do I. The problem, though, is the lawmakers. If the lawmakers would stop accepting bribes, no more bribes would be offered. You can make it illegal for companies to donate to election campaigns and I would support that. But the lawmakers should be able to manage that all by themselves. But they are corrupt and operating in a corrupt system, probably started by the companies. Instead of complaining about it, you should do something to try to fix it. A single term limit for any elected official would be a good start.

Oversimplification, where it isn't blatantly wrong.

Antifa is short for anti-Fascist. They fight Fascists, which is prob why you don't like them..

The rich have enormous power, that is obvious. Most of them have no interest in running the government. The ones that do, like Koch, are kooks. But they can often get what they want.

Bribe has a specific meaning. There is a lot going on, but it is done in such a way that it doesn't violate the law, usually.

Term limits don't work, and would make the problem worse. The rich would have people to 'guide' legislators, who wouldn't even know where the mens room is...

But there are things we could do. Most countries are like Britain, they have strong and independent voting authorities. Brits call theirs the Boundaries Commission.

We should also kill the revolving door.

There are other things, but dealing with them is a bit more involved, like getting rid of Dark Money.

Those who are most susceptible need to withdraw themselves more. Shutting down life for everyone is not sustainable, and will lead to burnout where everyone just says “**** it” and stops worrying about the virus completely. We are close to that point already as it is.

American poor once had a pretty high standard of living but it was decided the world was being cheated by greedy American poor. We had two Presidents, Carter and then Obama that told us we were no longer entitled to top dog status. That we should prepare ourselves t be just like everyone else. That's why Reagan and now Trump.

    We ain't dead yet.

No, we are close to the point where everyone withdraws, but that's where the only thing heard is some sort of modern equivalent to "Bring out your dead"

The Virus is already beginning to kill younger people.

It's capitalism run amok in the US. Control of the government is held by corporations and special interests.

I share your philosophy of life.

Also is the fact that the infection fatality rate for the virus is extremely low, less than 1, even by the government's own data. In reality it's probably lower than that because of the poor quality of the data so far.

As the Princeton Study evidenced using two decades of congressional record, only rich special interests get represented by legislation with the non elites not being represented. That is oligarchy, fascism. Antifa are amateurs compared to this.

    Can't weasel out of it.

I call it bribery. I fail to understand how the politicians put up with it.

Yep that is how we lost our republic. The supreme court was stupid not to understand the corrupting factor of money upon our rulers who need vast sums of it to keep their power and status.

Govt cannot get cleaned up until money from rich donors is removed from elections. And we need term limits just like the executive branch was given after FDR died.. That would help in getting the republic back.

I agree with all of that. But it has to be a single term limit if we want to reduce corruption.

Then so be it. A little intelligence would go a long way in getting our republic back. Yet congress will never do the right thing. They love the system they created in their own self interests over the years. Yet it guarantees corruption and has made a mockery of our republic. We get taxed while receiving no representation. If an average american.

    It's FUBAR.

No, it is possible though unlikely that the voters could vote incumbents out of office until the politicians get the idea. Very unlikely by the way and we haven't lost our republic.

Probably all taken by the population of Venezuela who are depressed about their socialist paradise.
