I was following you until the last sentence, AU. Since when do bullies and oppressors care if their targets like them? They just want to dominate and demand obedience. They don't care if it's fake.

You know what I love about this post? I swear that I have had the exact same thought a gazillion times reading @Thedimon's post. @Doofenshmirtz does the same thing. They both contribute wonderful comments and it feels like they are in some kind of "Write the shortest logical answer possible Contest."

I don't know what either of them does to earn a living but they would be excellent at writing the blurbs inside books. I read their posts and my brain is thinking "Ok, and then what happens...?" LOL I would buy every book in that case.

So, thanks for that reality check, BT. ;-)

What is this opinion based on, AU? Personally, any adjectives before the word "captives" are neutralized.

Simple logic would seem to indicate that governments want quiet and cooperative subjects not plotting rebels.

Why? NATO forces did not target civilians.

"We are going on the counterattack," Ukrainian government adviser says about fighting in Kyiv region

From CNN's Olga Voitovych and Andrew Carey in Lviv

A Ukrainian government adviser struck an upbeat note describing recent offensives in the region around Kyiv.

“We are going on the counterattack. We are moving forward,” Vadym Denysenko, an adviser to the interior minister, told Ukrainian television.

CNN reported earlier that Ukrainian forces appeared to have retaken territory around the small settlement of Lukianovka about 55 kilometers (about 34 miles) east of the capital. Social media geolocated by CNN depicted the aftermath of heavy battles there.

To the immediate northwest of Kyiv, the mayor of Irpin told CNN that 80% of the town was controlled by the Ukrainian army, but added it was still coming under sustained fire from Russian Grad rockets.

“Very serious battles took place near Baryshivka [to the east], Bucha, Hostomel, and Irpin [all to the northwest]. We managed to recapture quite a lot,” Denysenko said.
Defensive lines were being held, he said, with counter-offensives staged.

“Twelve tanks, several planes, more than 10 units of armored vehicles and at least 300 people were destroyed in the last 24 hours,” he said.

At the same time, Denysenko reported further Russian airstrikes to the south of the capital, near Vasylkiv, which is about 30 kilometers (about 18 miles) away, and Bila Tserkva, about 70 kilometers (about 43 miles) away.

According to Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Russia’s response to its loses is to continue building up troop numbers in neighboring Belarus, with many deployed from units in Russia’s east.

And how about some real news:

The Chechens raised their flag on the administration building of Mariupol and the city has now been liberated from its 14 thousand strong neo-nazi Azov Battalion.

After their 8 year ordeal, the people are united again with the rest of Donetsk. The President of the Donetsk Peoples Republic Dennis Poussilin has arrived with two Russians from the Duma to oversee the distribution of aid to the people.

Some of them haven't had water and food for days, and were being held hostage in their basements by the Azov Battalion. Bread, water and other essentials are being distributed, as well as medical assistance, a gas cooker and generators to charge their phones.

Nato was not involved in Iraq. It was W's "coalition of the willing".

Your bogus death estimate is based on a telephone survey of 1400 Iraqi's in 2007. Regardless, it is a Red Herring.

This LARRY C. JOHNSON must be a military genius – he compares Operation Barbarossa where Germany attacked Soviet Union to attack Russia on Ukraine – it shows how much he understands in a warfare.
The Russian ‘special military operation’ continues over 1 month – I wonder if the name of this war will be – ‘One Year Special Military Operation’.
Yes – Russia is winning and the reason Russian media are forbidden to show independent journalist reports is…independent journalists are liars and Russian government allow to report only journalists who are telling the truth.

Ukrainians are not only Nazis, they are thief too – here is a picture of Ukrainians stealing Russian equipment:

Yep, Putin is winning - as matter of fact he is winning in Ukraine more than one month. How many months he will be winning in Ukraine? More months than the Soviet Union was winning in Afghanistan?

In this case, there is not a single Western media that is trustworthy. Also, by the way, like the statement of Western politicians. Because they all wrote and told lies.

Indeed. Ukraine's military was even less of a threat to Russia than the Russian military is to ours.

Ah yes, I forgot. The make believe reality of our MSM.[IMG]

The Russians have now closed off the Azov Sea by taking Ukraine's second largest city Mariupol - thanks to Ukraine's great political leader Zalensky and at the cost of 7 thousand Azov.

Now Russia will concentrate on Dnipro and then Odessa. When that's taken, Ukraine will have lost all access to the Black Sea.

I think within a month (maximum two months) the special operation in Ukraine will end.
So don't worry, the Russians are fine.
By the way, after Russia's special operation, the new government in the state formations on the territory of the former Ukraine will catch Nazis and their supporters.
It will be easy. Because even now law-abiding citizens of Ukraine are happy to write statements against Nazi accomplices. They do it voluntarily and with great pleasure.
And one more fact - state formations on the territory of the former Ukraine are not members of international organizations like PACE. And consequently in their territory will be (I am sure of this) the death penalty. (as in the US, for example).
And given the fact that all Nazis and their accomplices are active in social networks, they are all known by name. Their relatives and friends are also known. Therefore, the capture of the Nazis and their accomplices will not take much time.

The western media is as trustworthy as media gets, actually. Even the politically biased media outlets are trustworthy. They can't afford not to be, in fact, because they would lose credibility and audiences otherwise. It's not like Russia, where the media is government-controlled, free speech is outlawed and people are given no alternative.

They've rubblized Mariupol. It's taken them a month and anywhere from 7,000 to 15,000 casualties in the overall theater so far to wear it down to this point, not to mention the lost commanding officers and military hardware, including their beloved Orsk. Ukraine will continue to get stronger and Russia weaker as this drags on.
