I usually read everything I can find on a given topic so I'm not closing myself off to confirmation bias but you have to understand that my fidelity is with my country, the United States of America and it only makes sense that yours is with your country.

Be that as it may, what is it that you think Americans, in general, are not understanding about the conditions and current war between Russia and the Ukraine? I'm aware that you think Putin is a deity and Zelensky is a demon. Beyond that, what is happening that you don't think we are being aware of here in the US?

As far as I know, no one in Russia considers Putin a deity. He does not always do what is pleasing to the population. But in this case, the vast majority of Russians (about 90%) support the special operation in Ukraine.

On other issues, they can both support him and actively oppose his decisions.

We understand that the only issue Russia had with NATO was this organization stood in the way of

There are two major reasons Putin wants Ukraine
1 - Ukraine back in Russian hands makes Russia bigger and stronger
2 - Ukraine in the EU shows how poor and weak Russia really is.
