We need to fix a fault in our economy - Medicare for all, single-payer cover.

American workers are too expensive once employers have paid benefits.

The patchwork American healthcare system costs twice as much as comparable systems in other countries, and the US life expectancy is lower than in similar countries in Europe.

We would effectively subsidize our workers by supplying public health care like all the countries competing with us.

No, this isn't a leftish policy - democrat policies are just an expensive way of getting nothing done, like Obamacare - a costly incomprehensible mess of public and private and bizarre stuff.

Wouldn't that be nice? My first health insurance under Obamacare was Medicaid. Since then, I have often thought that I wished more people in America got similar healthcare without needing to pay at the front desk for medical services.

But, I'm afraid that most Americans reject that kind of healthcare system. I don't know if they are brainwashed or have a decent point, but that's where public sentiment lies.

When I got on Medicare this year, I found that it was similar to the private insurance Medicaid I had before. In other words, private insurance has taken over for plain vanilla public government healthcare programs in most cases. Perhaps this is the best healthcare model for us Americans. With privatization even a Republican would like it.

Uh, if we follow your idea exact who do you think is going to pay. Hint: starts with "e" and end with "mployment"

The government already pays enough to run the complete healthcare system.

At present, the govt pays a portion of most people's health care and all of some people's healthcare, and the healthcare costs twice as much as it would in a simpler system.

The govt pays half the contributions to an immensely complex system that costs twice as much as necessary.

The additional cost of the US system is due to profiteering in private health insurance and the complexity of the billing system.

Although private healthcare companies profit, billing administration is the most significant waste in the system.

Some of the waste is in the 900,000 employees in private health insurance companies. Still, even more, staff work in hospitals and medical practices doing nothing more valuable than allocating costs among the various payers.

Loss of employment is the biggest objection I've heard to going over to a single-payer system.

But those excellent people are needed in other parts of the economy.

Our healthcare system needs a complete overhaul. a re-do, and new system. Everything in it is designed to enrich the wealthy and boost profits. I DON'T WANT MY HEALTH TO BE THE SUBJECT OF PROFITEERING.
