Yes, it is. I couldn't care less if US companies make profits. it has zero impact on my life. The Venezuelan oil industry needs investment and competent management. It currently lacks both, which is one of the reasons production is at 30 year lows. An increase in oil production will benefit Venezuelans.
Oil, like land, doesn't belong to anyone other than those who can claim it and defend it. Is it written somewhere in the universe that the oil in this particular region belongs just to Venezuela? If you believe so then you should be giving all of America back to the natives. lol
Some folks here presuppose that the US has the right to choose a country's President for them. Elections are fine as long as they come out the right way. In Henry Kissinger's words, referring to Chile in 1973: You either believe in democracy or you don't. The US establishment hates it.
Yemen is overrun with terrorists like isis Boko Haram, AQ and Al houthis who have been attacking KSA for over a decade.
When you "take" something that belongs to other folks it's called robbery. When it's "taken" using force it's called armed robbery. Or are you suggesting that the USA is above the law?
WHO'S THE LEADER OF THE CLUB THAT'S MADE FOR YOU AND ME M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E Stanley Kubrick understood this reality back in 1987 in his Vietnam era FULL METAL JACKET
Washington definitely supports the democratic process, something that hasn't existed in Venezuela for quite a while. We are trying to prevent rebellion which would eventually happen without any involvement at all. So explain, please, why you Russians are supporting the dictator. You just love dictators? You want military bases closer to the Southern U.S.? Probably both.
Is there anywhere in the US Constitution in which the government is authorized to overthrow legitimate governments? No sir, there is not. Local people electing their representatives and presidents is the democratic process. FYI, the US government has overthrown many legitimately elected governments all over the world. Some say the figure is 58 with Venezuela. William Blum wrote a book about it and counted 55 at that time. We're not trying to prevent a rebellion, we are very much fomenting a rebellion, as we have done dozens of times over many decades. We commit military aggression as normal behavior. WE are the criminals in this case, and in all those cases over the years. You're very much in denial, and that is the goal of government propagandists. Congratulations, you may be eligible for some government award for you spectacular credulity.
You confuse exploitation with mutually beneficial business agreements. We can help the people of Venezuela rebound from the tyranny of socialism and help ourselves in the process. It's a win win.
In your distorted world, are all acts of generosity considered publicity stunts, or are you just embarrassed and uncomfortable to know that 'socialists' reach out to help others?
Your naïve realism won't let you know that I believe in capitalism, but I draw the line at crony capitalism and fascism. So I'm informing you of that situation Joseph, but I doubt it will make any difference.
The current regime isn’t legitimate. They shut down the media, stole an election, and have abused the Venezuelan people. It’s a thug state. Reaching third world status is the result of governmental malpractice. We need to peacefully aid the resistance.
