The images, the stories, the after effects here in TX are sobering. 20 folks, in a Walmart killed when crazy came to town, and started shooting the place up.

The very first thing that came to my mind was, well, good thing they were in Walmart because there should be guns in the Walmart that perhaps could have been brought to bear. I mean, if it is like my local store, there is still a section selling things like shotguns, and all the ammo to go with it.

I am actually surprised that given that this was in El Paso, that some enterprising shopper didn't figure that out and at least attempt to protect themselves and others.

What say the rest of you folks?

I was under the impression that carrying was common in Texas. I'm surprised there wasn't a good guy with a gun anywhere.

Just because a person has a gun doesn't mean they have the courage to face an active shooter - we saw that in
the refusal of an armed officer to face a shooter in the school in Florida. It's not a movie set.

Yeah. It sucks that we can't really find a way to deal with lone wolves. Those are hard to pin down.

But they aren't alone....There are internet sites, where they gather to plot their attacks, and how to obtain their weapons of war............and a sitting President who jokes about shooting those you disagree with

Possible targets like this should have security at the door, which would have been able to take out the perp before he did too much damage, and stop anyone from entering who had a gun.

It also doesn’t mean that they are a “good guy”.

It just means that they are someone walking around in public sporting a weapon.

NO security at the door would have prevented this white terrorist armed with a weapon of war from getting in..........NO civilian should be able to obtain these weapons

Half of the cars in the Walmart parking lot had Mexican license plates.

The millennial drove 635 miles to El Paso because there would be a turkey shoot.

America better get its **** together and build the Trump Wall and start enforcing the laws that are already on the books or some crazed millennial who is off his ritalin will be driving from Denver Colorado to the Walmart in the Pico-Union district of L.A.

The mass shooting in El Paso was political and a terrorist attack in response to politically correct immigration policies just as the biggest mass shooting in history where 77 mostly children were murdered in Norway. because of Norway's PC immigration laws.

How many Americans are willing to surrender their Constitutional rights because of illegal aliens ?

Lone wolves is a technical term. It just means they act alone. They're not part of some wider network of terrorists. Or if they are, they themselves are doing the work. That's why they're hard to track down. They don't leave as much intelligence to go off of.

So you think that the world is a scripted TV show where the good guy with a gun is John Wayne ... in Florida we had an armed guard who didn't have the courage to face a well armed active shooter. It happens. People never know how they will face a violent situation. Having a gun doesn't mean automatic courage. It doesn't automatically mean a steady hand under fire, either.

You are aware without American civilians purchasing these AR's these arms manufacturers would go out of business and the Army and Marine Corps would become dependent on Russia, China or a few European gun manufactures that are heavily subsidised by the government.

It's a national security issue, America's gun manufacturers for the U.S. military are dependent on gun sells to American civilians.

The “white nationalist” shot white people while the “leftist” shot black people. Almost like their politics had nothing to do with the real reason for their mass murder?

BTW, no military uses the weapons used. Just sayin.

    I doubt it.

If I did do that I would likely keep all of the money for myself and spend it on guns and ammo.
