The World Cup, the real one, currently being played in Brazil.

Should the World Cup be played every 2 years instead of 4?

Football was "invented" by the British as a means to an end, to end the murderous pastime that is WAR. It is time to re-create the Footballing World Cup every 2 years now and not have to wait every 4 years, the whole world is now on board, its time to move this baby on into the progressive realm, again.

Keep it every four years. Doing it every two years isn't even feasible.

On a side note, great match between US and Ghana.

Well lets use Brazil as a classic example of why not. They barley finished construction ahead of the world cup starting

Next, you think players are going to pass up fat contracts playing in different leagues to play for scratch on international teams? Good luck with that.

Like I said, doing the world cup every two years isn't feasible at all.

One of the problems is the torturous process of qualifying. Minor countries start playing pre-qualifiers something like two years out. The successful ones get to join the main qualifying groups a year out. Then it takes forever to get down to the final 32

If he had any balls, he would be in the English fan block.

    uggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

from the U12 age upward you always teach your players to clear the ball out over the touch line if you have the lead and there's a minute or 2 left.

Why oh why does Team USA's so "wonderful of a center mid" never challenge for a ball he loses, doesn't attack the ball during set pieces and why, with 35 seconds left didn't he clear the ball instead, he once again turns over the ball, doesn't attempt to win back the ball and we snatch a tie from the jaws of victory

At the very least someone should have just taken out Ronaldo and taken the yellow card.

you'd need to be marking him in order to "take him out"

Taylor Twellman is doing a good job of biting his tongue. He knows who cost them the match and he's being very diplomatic with his comments

    My predictions for next round...
Brazil vs Chile...Chile is the better side Imo, it'll be tight brazil has edge in fan support and ref bias....2-1 brazil

Columbia vs Uruguay, uruguay has lost it's mojo(the biter), Columbia 2-0

Netherlands vs Mexico, mexico keeper won't save them this time netherlands offense is too potent....Netherlands 3-0

Costa Rica vs Greece...refs won't be taken in by Greece diving a 2nd time...Costa Rica, 2-0

France vs Nigeria, France has just too much depth.... France 3-0

    Germany vs Algeria...Germany 4-0

Argentina vs Switzerland, argentina is a one trick pony, cut off Messi's supply and they've got nothing, upset Switzerland 2-1

Belgium vs USA, on paper Belgium is much stronger and talented but they haven't demonstrated that as yet, USA work rate and determination could make this close...1-1, pks flip a coin here...

reports are that brazil has lost its style of play because all their team play in europe and have adopted european styles of which the europeans excel at. brazilian football leagues need to overhaul their system, maybe starting with government reform. the old brazilian style of play is now reflected in teams like nigeria, who did very well and ghana who has a lot of promise.

the game was over at 2-0 and the players knew it, when you're down by two to any of the top teams there is almost no way back at 3-0 it's impossible, brazil was mentally shattered at that point they expected to win the WC...germany is not 7-1 better than brazil it was a one off result...

if I recall goals two and three looked like they were blunders by the same person, I haven't come across any videos where I could identify his number...
