The Bible is quoted in every Catholic mass and yet it still can be interpreted as "symbolic" and therefore blasphemous to assume that a mortal man can create divinely incarnated flesh and blood in a cup. It is not "culturally" alien to protestants - it is seen as doctrinally blasphemous. The Latin "hic est corpus meus" gave rise to the protestant insult "hocus pocus" during the Reformation. Transubstantiation is seen by protestants as superstitious and intrinsically evil. It's not a question of "culture"? Each religious authority believes that the other interpretation condemns the followers of the other Church to eternal Hell and damnation (read up on the nulls salus extra ecclesiam doctrine of the RC Church).

Having yet again pointed out your sneaky debating technique for the record, I'm happy to debate the US in a post dollar reserve currency world. In fact I've done so before on this forum.

The US is a massive Continent with immense natural resources and will undoubtedly do okay. What it will not be able to do - thank goodness - is maintain and project the same military it does today. The Pentagon system will be forcibly shrunk and the defence sector downsized because the USA's whole emphasis will shift to either repudiating its foreign debt (in which case it's screwed as a world player for x number of decades) or entering into binding agreements with the Paris Club to service its debt.

Either way the reign of the bully boy cum world bandit we all experience today - and have seen for so many past decades - will be over.
