Frank Zappa said they were better than the Beatles. No lie. They have quite the cult following,or did have. Kurt Cobain I think was a fan. There's an argument that it's so a-tonal and shapeless that it's original art. I think that's what Zappa meant.

It's a sad deal. The dad bullied them into forming the band and performing.

The joy of party drugs, no wonder they're hit with many other artists and people who lacked any functioning brain cells.

sounds like something Frank Zappa would say.
so borderline avant-garde. It's not necessarily the sound of the appreciate. Maybe it's the balls that took proverbial in this case to get up and on stage and sing and do the music knowing that it was bad and taking the jeers and stride.

I could see that. Also the idea that who decided what good music is supposed to sound like sort of thing I don't get it and then since that I would listen to that song again. But I suppose making art isn't always about making beauty.
So perhaps this was a protest. Interesting. Have heard the music but I've never knew the story behind it.

LOL - I wish I didn't. For some inexplicable reason that stupid song was stuck in my head last weekend.

And speaking of fish heads, paybacks are hell:

You have to be blitzed out of your mind to listen to that entire album, and if you are you'll probably laugh your way through it.

This my personal, um, favorite (?), "song" off that album :smoking:

I can't believe how many people are praising this garbage. Maybe it's like how designer labels make hideous clothing. It's so that nobody can copy it.

But I would call this noise auditorial vomit

The parts that crack me up are at the end of each line where it sounds like he's trying to bring something up that he just ate.

LOL - I would call that noise bad Beatnik poetry accompanied by auditorial vomit. It's so bad on so many levels it's hilarious.

BTW, I suspect you won't be terribly surprised to hear that Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart made some music together:

I don't think there's much that I wouldn't believe about Frank Zappa. That dude was out there. Zappo is kind of like the musical version of Salvador Dali.

My personal worst music piece is Lightin' Strikes by Lou Christie, or actually anything by him. His falsetto creeps me out, makes my skin crawl.

Well I posted my worst in #649 above, but I am going to submit the following as an "honorable mention". Warning. Once listened to this song is imprinted as I found out from kids singing on the school bus during an elementary school field trip.
