This young lady is dynamite. She should run for office.

    She said:

We've seen a force that would shatter our nation rather than share it,

Would destroy our country if it meant delaying democracy.

And this effort very nearly succeeded.

But while democracy can be periodically delayed,

It can never be permanently defeated.

In this truth, in this faith, we trust.

For while we have our eyes on the future,

History has its eyes on us.

Couldn't agree more. 22 years old and battled a speech impediment as a child.

It's nice to see talent again.

Translation. We colluded to protect the elite. We silence the voice of freedom, And democracy has no place in the new democratic power. Mob power is what is the order of the day. Truth is only what democrats dictate. And only that "truth" shines today.

If you can't appreciate that take on it, too bad. My thought now is that once democrats ramp up the reconciliation camps, the democrats will still be cheering. The Nazis had nothing on these people.

I missed that, was terrified that Bane or Joker were going to pop out at any second during the dystopian proceedings and had to turn it off.

Was the rest of the poem that bad? Because that's not good poetry. Sorry, it's just not. Maybe the poet would be better suited to Hallmark Cards or pop country lyrics?

Huh, the Democrats are not the ones running around with Camp Auschwitz sweaters. I mean, after the above rant, I can only react by never dialoguing with you again. Over and out forever.

Not what was said. Was it? So why lie about what was written?

    Whatever, man.
Your boy lost and is gone. Good riddance. I understand why you're upset, though.

I have many times, and a stanza just for this thread:

Propped up by fraud, the octogenarian.
    Shock troops abound, how authoritarian!

Sorry. You won't become a National Poet Laureat with that, including because you managed to lie in your first line already. Bravo. It reminds me of the idiotic young press secretary whose first lie was saying she would never lie, LOL

    Haters gonna hate.

She's quite a remarkable young woman.

Who is Amanda Gorman, Joe Biden's inauguration poet? - CBBC Newsround

Born in Los Angeles, California, in 1998, Gorman had a speech impediment as a child - something she shares in common with President Biden.

"It's made me the performer that I am and the storyteller that I strive to be," she said in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times.

Gorman became LA's youth poet laureate at 16. Three years later in 2017, while studying sociology at Harvard, she became the first national youth poet laureate.

She published her first book, The One for Whom Food Is Not Enough, in 2015 and will publish a picture book, Change Sings, later this year.

A full transcript (and of course it is 10,000 times better than @Sanskrit 's efforts, LOL) is available here:

    https://www.rev.com/blog/transcripts/amanda-gorman-inauguration-poem-transcript-the-hill-we-climb

    I like these parts:

"That even as we grieved, we grew. That even as we hurt, we hoped. That even as we tired, we tried that will forever be tied together victorious. Not because we will never again know defeat, but because we will never again sow division."

"victory won’t lie in the blade, but in all the bridges we’ve made."

"If we merge mercy with might and might with right, then love becomes our legacy and changes our children’s birthright."

"We will raise this wounded world into a wondrous one. We will rise from the gold-limbed hills of the West. We will rise from the wind-swept Northeast where our forefathers first realized revolution. We will rise from the Lake Rim cities of the Midwestern states. We will rise from the sun-baked South. We will rebuild, reconcile and recover in every known nook of our nation, in every corner called our country our people diverse and beautiful will emerge battered and beautiful. When day comes, we step out of the shade aflame and unafraid. The new dawn blooms as we free it. For there is always light. If only we’re brave enough to see it. If only we’re brave enough to be it."

    Outstanding!!!

I take back part of what I posted. The above is a brilliantly subtle and understated homage to the deceased who "rose" and voted for Biden anyway despite being dead, one of the Democrats' most reliable and faithful voting blocs, so glad they were mentioned and celebrated. Bravo!

Either that or it's a bad rip off from an Atlanta Falcons Ad a few years back:

    Ohoh.

Great, because only 2 deceased people were caught having voted in an audit done in Georgia. One of them was a guy who tried to get his deceased mother to vote for... Trump. So, the hordes of zombies who supposedly voted for Biden is just another one of the lies spread by Trump in his attempt to reverse the free and fair results of the 2021 election. Nice try. Next.

Hey, you're welcome to send your proof to the courts. Seems like the clownish team of Trump lawyers were unable to find any though, so you'll be the first one. They'll love you for it.

No thanks. Having too much fun with the Plagiarist Laureate ripping off a Falcons ad atm. Surely you understand.

Sure, pal. After all, you need some entertaining and consolation, given the bitter reality that your boy lost the election and is gone. I understand. I feel for you. Don't despair. Cling to stuff like this and maybe you'll indeed feel better.
