What makes shooting something as large as an elephant, giraffe or a rhino challenging???Now shooting mice or rats that would be a challenge and a true test of ones marksmanship.

Pure ignorance. A few elephants are taken annually by legal hunters. When taken legally, all parts of the animal must be used. The meat goes to the villagers, the skin is used and the tusks are destroyed. However, thousands are killed by poachers. Most are killed for their tusks and the rest is left to rot.

    Like I said....
    Go google trophy hunters.
It's your typical middle age white man who kill just to make a selfie, sometimes with his wife.
And them are some weird looking elephants.

So I will ask again, are you going to criticize black Africans? This is just sad.......its so sad and pathetic. Its like a race between a Chevy Volt and a Porsche 918 Spyder. You ever watch those videos of baby animals trying to move their parents but they can't no matter what they do? HAHAHAHAHA

Trophy hunter or poacher, animal Is no more or less dead. Why not lump them in the same group? Hell at least the trophy hunters try and obey the law overall, poachers ignore it totally. Why the white male comment? It shows your bias and nothing else.

To the poster who hates all hunters..silly comment. All emotions and no logic. Anybody can easily point to all the things you do in your life daily that negatively effects animals...your hypocritical to attack all hunters.

With the above assuming that once the animal is killed, the carcass is left to simply rot and no one benefits from the hunt taking place. Such is not the case.

Trophy hunting is legal and sanctioned by the government of the nation of Africa. If the act is found to be so objectionable to yourself, take it up with the government itself, not those who are actually abiding and complying with the law in place.

Organize a protest and donate far more funding to the nation of Africa, than any number of trophy hunters could ever manage to pay. Buy out the government of the nation of Africa and convince them to put an end to all trophy hunting. Otherwise cease the useless prattling.

Which makes it the most likely to be a problem animal and of the least value to the societal structure of the herd.

I love animals. Don’t hunt myself but have no issue with those that do.

It’s hard not to feel bad for animals in need. Lord knows I have enough shelter animals because of that!

But I have seen people who let that emotion destroy any logic they might have when speaking about animals.

It's like listening that it's legal to toss off gay people of high buildings in some countries, and what's wrong with that kind of nonsense.

Hardly the same thing. Killing innocent animals is not the equal of killing innocent people.

Which why every country on Earth have laws that reflect that.

The fact is, is that trophy hunting only pays the corrupt in very poor countries.

It only shows the argument of "it's legal and so it's okay" is a retarded argument.

Nope. And even if it did, why deny funding for conservation in poor countries? Now you hate poor as well as the melanin rich.

I can source that it pays the corrupt and that it doesn't function as you claim.
So it seems you never looked up if your original claim was true.

    But here,.. buddy

Yes, emotion and logic/animal welfare are hard to reconcile sometimes at the personal as well as the global level.

I am having to make the decision soon on euthanizing a cow who’s an old friend. I don’t hunt except varmints and predator control.

I support those who hunt. There is no logical reason to oppose hunting.

So do so. This isn’t the first time I’ve been around the block on this issue.

That can be a lot less humane of a kill for the animal. I hope you realize that.
