I used to fish the whole state. The big bend area though, never that far west. They had a two week closure and that was about it. There were no drop in catches or increases in productivity per hour fished. The state puts out statistics every commercial fisherman must report on landings. You can find it at "Florida fish and wildlife research institute landings data" on google. We lucked out. Louisiana swamps though are worth visiting again though. I was there last year in the way back from Texas. Nice place.

Come see John pennekamp park. When a grouper the size of a car swims up to you a few times you will get an appreciation for how the state is run.

Well there is a whole lot they didn't envision man. That's why we have to keep moving forward, and we can't always get stuck on what the framers intended. Plus I also think it's fair to say that different framers intended different things.

Hamilton, and Adams intended a much different country than Jefferson, and Madison. They fought it out, and so will we. that's just how it goes.

If you feel that way change the document and get support for it. Ours is not a system that was supposed to be run by simple majorities. Besides, those programs are all big failures anyway.

Well I don't have to my interpretation has won out over the years in the courts, and the congress. Hence why you are flabberghasted at the way things are, and I get it.

Like what has happened in Australia. Large tracts of native forests (hardwood) chopped down then replaced by introduced trees like pine. Much of this land wasn't even replanted but left for livestock grazing. Serious loss of wildlife that depended on native flora for survival.

But that happened because tyrants want power, and they got it by threatening people. Democrats will never allow votes on their sacred cows. All of which are big failures in any event, why do you support them? Because of their intentions or their outcomes?

Hell no, lol. If I'm going to Florida, it's not going to be for some fish.

Miami or Jacksonville. Maybe Clearwater since I have family there. Love how you can walk around in shorts and sandals and not appear out of place.

You assume their intentions. I don't know their intentions, but I know mine, and their policy lines up with it mostly. Namely I believe that the government does have a responsibility, and indeed a constitutional obligation to provide for the general welfare of the public. That is the entire crux of the issue, and I've endeavored to provide you with both historical, and legal evidence supporting that conclusion that is not tyranny, but rather a valid, and defensible interpretation of constitutional authority. I understand you don't agree, and I also believe it or not understand that most of the Democrats your encounter likely don't know their ass from their elbow. Or why they support the policies they do, but this one does.

I'm not incompetent. I'm not ignorant of the history of my country, and yes I vote Democratic.... Well most of the time ;).

This is probably right, but more and more 'native' forests are being harvested and replaced by introduced species. Native forests where wildlife depends on a certain type of flora for survival. This had been happening in Australia.

Where I live, the escarpment behind me the White Cedar was king. Forests stripped of White Cedar, exported to Europe for the fine furniture industry. Nowadays you'd be hard pressed to find any White Cedar growing in its natural state along the east coast.

Australia only has a fraction of rainforest left compared to before white settlement. Vast tracts cleared for gazing and urbanisation. These can't be replanted and are gone forever,, and is responsible for the extinction of many native species.

The above can be multiplied one hundred (at least) fold across the globe.

Exotics are a legitimate issue. It is something goverment can manage effectively. If it is t wasting resources on phony environmental issues.

The trees can be replanted. I have an Aussie baobab I you need seeds one day. It is 3 feet tall now, but in time. :)

Start a native plant nursery. They are making bank these days.

You believe the government has a constitutional mandate for a Ponzi scheme like social security?

    This is old stuff.

Lee Doren is brilliant in his critiques. I reccomend his other critiques as well, particularily the one on Cenk Uyghur and gun control.

Also, check out 'tax the rich'. Funded with your taxes, and its pure propaganda to be shown in classrooms. Suffice to say that I'm not that positively inclined towards state run education..

The SOS needs no rebuttal for anyone older than ten. I didn't watch this vid but saw much of TSOS, and there was one line that said it all. The stupid flippant ugly (*)(*)(*)(*) narrator said (and I quote), "It's the government's job to protect us". Oh really? Mercy me, thank Sweet Sunny Jeezus that I have the benevolent and loving Big Brother to protect me. How wonderful.

Garbage socialist dogma of the highest order. Whoever put that in the schools needs to be tar and feathered and them drawn and quartered and the parts hung in the public square.

Oh not at all I fully oppose the raiding of the social security fund for spending on other programs. Yes that includes raiding it for the FHA. Or TARP. Or auto bailouts. I think If the congress decides it wants to set up those programs it should create it's own funds for them. Or it shouldn't create them. I think some tough choices should be made along those lines, but I do believe that programs like those are constitutional.

I would prioritize Social Security very high on that list though. followed by health care. Past that I would not mind seeing cuts.

The Australian Baobab isn't an endangered species, the White Cedar is which now only exists in protected areas is.

Australia has a very finely balanced ecosystem. Remove native flora in an area, some animal species die out to a point of extinction. There are animals that only eat one kind of plant species.

Native plant nurseries don't encourage the reintroduction of native animals that left an area due to deforestation, nor does it miraculously 'rebirth' fauna made extinct due to deforestation.

I've laid out the historical, and constitutional basis for that interpretation already in the thread if you want to discuss any of those points just shout it out, and i'll get back to it later. I won't bother to re list the whole thing again.

Damn it this thread is growing faster than I can read through the posts.

    All I will say is:

If you are so blinded by socialism that even when the rebuttal clearly shows the factual lies and misleadings of the original video and the critic backs up his statements with facts you still think he is wrong, there is no hope. Reality does not exist for you, only your own personal theoretical reality where socialism works, Chavez was an angel with a halo and the spirit of Marx will speak to you from above the clouds and "bless" you by taking away everything you have that everyone else in the world doesn't (ie everything including your life).

No, but it plants trees. You can't turn back the clock. The commons was poorly managed before by government. Do your part as an individual I say and spend limited government resources where thy do the most good.

Go spread the white cedar. It takes little effort to plant a hundred seedlings.

Um... the government conscripts the army to fight in our behalf to protect us from the french, native americans, terrorist or communist or whatever. Sure the citizens make up the army but the government funds(with taxes)and organizes it.

Its not the governments job to protect us? What is their job then?

That's not what the stupid (*)(*)(*)(*) was talking about. Watch the video so you too can join the children in thanking Sweet Jeezus that Big Brother will protect you from the evil capitalists. Enjoy.

    I know it's old, I said that.

I saw that tax the rich one a while ago, I just wasn't on this site at the time to vent my outrage. That one was.....like WHAT THE (*)(*)(*)(*)?!?!?!? This is why there's so many (*)(*)(*)(*)ing dumbass socialists now, the education system creates them! This is USSR-style crap, presenting that kind of lie to school kids.

Indoctrinating American children to hate their fellow Americans? THIS is what it's coming to? Jesus Christ.

yeah, it's truly horrible. I mean, its kids its being shown to. THey don't know anything about these stuff, and things you're taught so young usually stick when its comming from an authority like teachers. That means that there'll be tons of actually brainwashed people! Gotta say, the lefties are indeed good at knowing how to take over a culture.

In a way you can turn back the clock. Check out the Wollemi Pine, thought to be extinct for over 200 million years.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wollemia

BTW,, a school mate (a biologist) of mine was part of the team that discovered the pine.

I will check that out in a second. I just was looking it up. Your endangered species is an exotic invasive florida is trying to wipe out. Can you believe it? Lol... Goverments should maybe talk to each other.

That is a nice pine. It reminds me of Norfolk pines. I have a few I put lights on at Christmas and call it decorating.

The military is entirely voluntary. And the military's job is to protect us from violent external or internal threats, not from corporations we don't like.

The only other protection the government should provide is against infringement upon rights; ie prosecuting murder, fraud, rape, robbery, etc; and allowing people through civil courts to sue the ever-loving (*)(*)(*)(*) out of corporations that lie to or harm the public. You want to keep corps in line? Give them no government back up, nothing. They make it on their own or go broke - we the consumers will decide if we want to give them our money.
