It was odd been a long time since I have seen African Americans in the Oval Office actually talking about improving the lives of other African Americans. Glad we got a president that finally welcomes that discussion.

So, you have smeared Kanye West as "mentally disturbed" without reviewing his health records.
Dr. Sandy, you should Google "ignorance" - stat. ;-)

West said what needed to be said. Trump should take the opportunity to craft a plan to cut the prison population in half within a year. More later - the prison system is an obsolete boondoggle.

"Right now, you gave me the heart to go to Adidas. Because at Adidas, when I went in 2015, we were a $14 billion company losing $2 billion a year. Now we have a $38 billion market cap.

It's called "the Yeezy effect." And I went to Kasper, we had a meeting in Chicago, and I said, you have to bring manufacturing onshore, inshore, not even [inaudible] -- into the core. It's not about the borders, it's the core of [inaudible] and Chicago is the core of Middle America, and we have to make Middle America strong.

So I had the balls - because I had enough balls to put on this hat. I mean, this Adidas thing made me a billionaire and I could have lost $200 million walking away from that deal. But even with that, I knew it was more important for me to take the chance of walking away from that deal than to have no fathers in Chicago, with no homes, and when we do have prison reformation for no -- 'cause, it's uh, it’s habilitation, not rehabilitation, because they didn't have the abilities in the first place .

We never had anyone that taught us, they didn't teach us. Exactly, cause "we ain't have no one that taught us." Right? Ha."

That has absolutely nothing to do with the bizarre photo op on the same morning the President was facing a national crisis.

How do you challenge TDS?? You say Trump is ignorant....end of story.
You say Trump is inexperienced ...end of story.
You say Trump is misogynist.....end of story.
    You say Trump is bigoted.... end of story;
    You preface everything you say about him with one or more of the above so why argue? That is all progressive/liberals have left;
I am ignorant so I won't waste anymore of your time. Doesn't Antifa meet tonight? You better get going.

We know West is suffering from a mental illness. Robert, do you think this is a normal presentation that "covered all the bases?"

If you think this is a conventional discourse between the President and a black advocate, then you are suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome. Did you catch the part about how Trump is West's superman? How about West's presentation of the hydrogen powered Air Force One?

That was a reply to another poster. It did not contain any of the issues related to this thread. Posts that contain issues are the ones you never challenge.

So far you are batting a thousand. You have yet to challenge the issues I and others have presented. All you do is challenge those who report the issues.

So what Sandy. You waste your time worrying over 10 minutes of a rapper chatting and I worry over how cold is my beer.

Sad you are so nosy about things said to Trump. Very sad.

West is not the president. if Trump does not want him around that is up to him. It has nothing to do with hurricanes.

And all you do is challenge Trump on a 24/7 basis and anyone who supports him while claiming to be a Republican. Maybe you should register yourself as a Democrat since you seem to agree with them on so many things about Trump.

Kanye is liked and respected by many African Americans. I know because I work with hundreds of them and have been talking to them over the past few weeks on these issues with the midterms coming up. I was told by a few just today that they liked Kanye and did not like the Democrats attacking him. This may actually drive some of these Africans to Trump just because they are tired of the hate on the left.

Kanye is not perfect. Nobody is. There is no evidence he has a mental illness and even if there was does that somehow take away his right to support Trump publicly? Do you have problem with people with mental illnesses? I have a brother who suffers from PTSD for hitting a road side bomb while serving in Iraq so I don't like it when someone is attacked for possibly having a mental illness. This is not cool at all.

If the MSM/Democrats had been 1/1024th this upset about Snoop Doggy-Dog smoking pot in the WH with Obama I might pay attention to their concerns.

Yeah, I know, Robert. You don't give a shyt what happened last Thursday. That is what I have been saying. To hell with the people of Florida. Your beer is getting warm.

The point is, you aren't the only one. Based on their replies on this thread, Trump supporters didn't give a shyt, either.

Maybe Trump wasn't there passing out water, but there are a lot more important things a President does regarding disasters. Why do you always try and play on emotion?
Instead why aren't you using your vast knowledge to promote sound, positive, thinking? In fact, I haven't heard of ANY sound ideas coming from the left recently. Don't they discuss those things at Antifa meetings?

Tell me, what did I get wrong? Why are you hitting on me for what Trump has done? Isn't Trump responsible for what he does? I'm just the messenger here. He is the one who showed insensitivity toward a national crisis. Go bang on him.

Great, if you had been following along instead of just jumping in, you would know that is not the issue.

This isn't about West. This is about Trump. Read the OP!

How was he insensitive? By having a meeting about jobs for African Americans? Was he suppose to sit around and watch the weather channel all day?

This happened last Thursday. As a backdrop to the surreal episode in the Oval Office, I first watched the horror wrought to the Florida panhandle by Michael. Whole communities were gone. Not just damaged ... gone. The death toll was six, but that would undoubtedly climb. First responders had not yet begun checking on residences. They could not get through because the roads were impassible.

There was no electricity, no running water, and no communication. Many would never fully recover. They lost everything except the clothes on their back.

There were parts of the panhandle that looked like it was the victim of a nuclear bomb. Houses gone, houses destroyed, businesses gone or demolished, fallen trees marring the entire landscape, boats littering dry land, it was a frightening scene.

Then the network I was watching switched to a freakish scene in the Oval Office and a mentally disturbed rapper was engaged in a monologue with our President listening solemnly. You have to see it to believe it.

You know what really bothered me about this video. This was a private meeting, but Trump called in the White House press corps and the cameras. Trump wanted Americans to watch this bizarre episode in the Oval Office as Floridians looked for their living rooms and the dead!

Kanye West may not have been the only mentally disturbed individual in the room.

Now do you understand? Probably not if you are a Trump fan.

I fail to see how it was odd or insensitive. Was he suppose to watch te weather channel or have meetings? This was scheduled well in advance, it was part of a large day, other meetings took place. African American opportunities are important. He didn’t cause whatever network you were watching to flip over...but some people do care what African Americans have to say about the employment issues and prison issues facing their community. Guess you don’t

I've read the OP. You frame it far different than it should actually be framed. Florida has nothing to do with the story here. The story here is this: A black man who is prominent in the contemporary community, jumped the Washington plantation and has expressed the freedom he feels in doing so. It is a major threat to the left that they will not capture 90% of the vote of black Americans that they have grown used to. It is really big news. Florida is a tragic situation that is being dealt with....and you would like to blame it on President Trump. That is trying to use "emotion" to prove a point.
