This section of east TN is becoming so infested with deers that it's ridiculous. In the last ten years I've hit two and my wife has hit three. The Buck I hit this morning weighed about 150 pounds:

Since PETA and the anti-gun advocates (aka, gun-o-phobes) dont want ppl shooting Bambi, then they shud take the advice their ilk gives Pro-lifers and 'adopt-a-deer" to get them off of the roads!

LMAO!!! East Tennessee has managed hunts in several areas and some of my friends travel to west TN in the KY lake region in search of trophy deer. You people ignore a shooting in an alley by a dance hall and blame Liberals for dancing. Kiss my arse!!

Being a 'deer-murderer' obviously is working on your guilt and thus defensive posting.

Guess it's better to hit deer with a car, allowing them to suffer, rather than a clean kill shot to the heart/lungs that a skilled hunter would provide.

that would take about 20 minutes to fix using the same parts..no big deal..not even close to a wrecked car

Give it time..the guilt will pass...that is until you hit the next 'unharvested' deer..

    Guns are your friend:

Well I'm glad you're okay. We get deer wandering the streets around here in the very early hours and people have been known to hit them. Depending on the type of car they're driving and the speed they're going it can do some real damage if you hit one.

To harvest a dead deer one needs a deer permit (at least in CO)!

Having spent a couple of yrs growing up in rural WI with my uncles (5) and cousins, and going on yearly deer hunts, deer hits on cars were almost unheard of.

What has changed? The local tradition of training youth about gun safety and proper usage while hunting for venison has gone to the wayside...

I'll notify Wild Justice on the National Geographic Channel ("California Game Wardens battle to keep the state's wilderness safe. ...") for an episode in your area

The average 4-wheeler Joe shud be thankful to long-haul truckers sporting 'grille guards' for keeping the deer population down.

One time driving I-80 between Reno & Salt Lake City on a foggy, frosty winter night/morn, I counted 20 deer carcasses.

The adjustor will be up here in a day or two to estimate for the insurance company. I'll let you know. I guess you're some kind of mystic or soothsayer to be able to glance at a picture of the front end of a damaged vehicle and tell how much labor and expense will be involved. When it first happened I thought I was dragging the carcass because the steering is pulling to the right and a loud scraping noise can be heard. My comprehensive coverage is $500 deductible so I'll be out at least that much. Like I said before....my wife had three different deer strikes from about 2010-2013 while driving to work early in the morning. She was driving the same 2009 Lincoln town car each time and the repairs ranged from $2,800 to $4,500. The most expensive one the hood had been bent a little and they could not get it aligned to open and close so they had to replace and paint it.

I have a question for you dumb asses. Why are you in this animal and pet section of the forum if you're going to attack Liberals every time you post some worthless bullschit?

In Bush's vendetta against Saddam Hussein for trying to assassinate GHW Bush in Qatar, circa 1993, 4500 young Americans were slaughtered and another 35,000 seriously wounded. That crazy bastard declared victory before the war even got warmed up:

    Most important question.

Did you get to keep the deer? A little back strap for Christmas dinner?

I tried deer meat one time about 20 years ago....too coarse and chewy for me. I like lobster tails and NY strips fixed on my grill.

I dont believe the guy's quickie repair estimate included $$$ for psychological help with the guilt?

You seem to have a real problem with control...are you sure that you and your wife dont 'aim' for the deer you've murdered?

So, from your manic posting, is this the sequence of the Liberal ideology: overly self-esteemed, sensitive, emotional, intolerant, angry, loss of control, with the resultant of a long-laundry list of unintended consequences?

Yeah.....I can see where a dumb, conniving right wing assshole might justify killing deer.....shucks, that's a no brainer when they murder and slaughter young Americans by the thousands in some god forsaken desert 10,000 miles from home to protect their money grubbing oil interests.

Cheney cleared over $25,000,000 from his holdings in Halliburton while a Republican declared, unnecessary war was grinding away in Iraq.

4500 young Americans killed and over 35,000 seriously wounded because of a lying, conniving two faced self serving, draft dodging assshole. And the dumbassed Americans re-elected him:

Consider yourself fortunate. I hit one in Kansas in 91, on a motorcycle.

Man....you've got me there. I tried riding a motorcycle in 1951, a big Indian, and because I didn't know what I was doing I turned it over. I've never been on one again. I will mention one thing. There were no safety requirements back then and when the helmet thing came along most of the folks I knew who rode a bike kinda rebelled and didn't start wearing one for years. Kinda like seat belts. I bought a new 1965 Chevy, 327 V8, 4 in the floor...all the good stuff. It was the first car I owned which had seat belts. There were no automatic retractors or spring apparatus then, the belts just laid in the way all the time. After about a month I took a box cutter with a razor blade insert and cut the things out. The only part of them left was the brackets on the floor where they had been attached. My brother didn't start using the seat belts in his cars till it became a law to wear them and he probably doesn't use one much now. In the old days there were a few rebels who never used one. Occasionally I see a report concerning a death in a traffic accident and it mentions that the deceased was not wearing one. REAL DUMBASSES!
