A coil is hardly a sure form of birth control, FoxHastings.

Geesh, and women wonder why they get pregnant...

As are many other forms that YOU Anti-Choicers swear work .

WOMEN wonder why they get pregnant !!!!! NO, they don't.

The Anti-Choicers who claim all women should have to use birth control and then they will never get pregnant are the ones who don't know how women get pregnant..

So, why are you blaming women for using contraception?

I'm not blaming her. She chose to take the risks and then she chose life.

Some of these contraceptive options are not particularly good though if you really do not want to get pregnant and would resort to abortion in the case of a pregnancy.
If all she did was install a coil or casually pop a few birth control pills, I wouldn't consider that really trying.

I'm willing to set a price on a child's head, and use statistics and mathematical calculations to assign a life value.

The life of a child with a medical condition may be worth less but it is not worthless.

The issue isn't just that the prognostication was wrong. It's that they were prepared to risk killing a healthy life to get rid of one with a defect.

This had nothing to do with saving life.
We are talking about an intentional killing.

There is no way you can compare this to a normal medical mistake.

Oh, so you value children based on their monetary value....

Better than valuing them not at all,
or based on less than the convenience of the woman...

And are you going to factor in quality of life?

Now what price life? Will a baby born in the USA be as valuable or less valuable than one born in Nigeria?

Or the degree of poverty or the threat that poses to the woman or....

I love how it is boiled down to "convenience" when we KNOW that when abortion is made illegal women will use coat hangers and rat poison to abort. Feeling that something is inconvenient is not that powerful a motivator

Yes, absolutely, but we also need to factor in the chance that maybe, just a few of these unborn babies doctors say will have no quality of life, might actually be able to have a decent life.

If we had to terminate a perfectly normal unborn baby that the woman wanted just so we could spare another child from being brought into the world with horrible suffering, would it be worth it? That's essentially the question you're asking.

I'll admit, it can be a heart-wrenching dilemma.

Surely a baby is a baby no matter where it is born

    NO, "we" do NOT...

    That's sheer nonsensical babble.

    But not YOUR dilemma....

Did you mean the English "what?"

Yes, the OP is not about abortion, it is about doctors making mistakes...

Yes, we're all happy when doctors, who tried to kill us, failed.

    Nice dodge

    Put a price on it

There are already children out there on home ventilation with nursing support who will never truly interact with anyone else

I found this down in the comment section of another blog article:

    Libby

My husband and his identical twin brother were born at 26 weeks. The doctors prepared the family for the worst and at best they predicted the boys would never walk or talk normally and would likely be blind. Well those boys showed them! They’re turning 37 this year. They're perfect. :)

And what relevance does this have to women having the right to their own bodies and abortion ???

7,341 but 7 of them were accidental due to drunk doctors.
    https://www.verywellfamily.com/termination-of-a-desired-pregnancy-for-medical-reasons-2371777

There were also 2,658, 319 abortions of a fetus with only a 68% chance of completing an Olympic event.
