Greatest golf spectacle since Jack won in ‘86....What a gritty performance by the kid from LA!!!! OUTSTANDING in deed....Way to go Tiger!!!
I'm simply calling it: THE SECOND COMING! Utter public humiliation. Self-induced personal destruction. A publicly embarrassing and high profile divorce with world wide exposure. Haters fueled more than a Saturn rocket before launch. The Golf Channel (clearly) seeking a replacement Icon for the PGA Tour in all its spoken rhetoric. Being the butt of every joke. Losing sponsorship. Losing "friends." A million back surgeries. Unable to walk under his own power due to so much pain. Utterly written off, cast away and told he would NEVER even compete on Tour again, let alone so much as sniff at another Major win. Yet, like the Phoenix, Tiger Woods, rose to fly again at a height unmatched in Professional Golf. This was clearly the greatest Comeback Story in Professional Sports I have ever personally witnessed in my lifetime. He beat a field stacked so tightly that it made the Indy 500 leader bubble pale in comparison. You could not drive an Indycar as tightly packed as the Masters Leader Board right down to Sunday. Playing with with Fused Back, something no other Professional Golfer has ever done to any degree, let alone at a level sufficient to compete in a tournament. This was not merely an impossible comeback. This was the closest I will get to a literal Second Coming. This was Biblical in proportion to anything else I've ever witnessed, read about or heard about in the history of histories in Professional Sports. The most interesting thing about this Second Coming is that it has Just Begun! He just won the Masters with his "B" game. He never was able to sustain his "A" game. Clearly, he now has a Brand New "B" game and if that's so, there won't be any other "A" game on Tour able to keep up, if Tiger, brings his "A" to the Tournament. The PGA Championship is course set-up he can still win. The British Open Championship, he's proven he can still lead. The Masters Championship has just been the conquered proving grounds for the 5th time in his career. Only the US Open, with its massive length off the tee and the absurdly long hitters like Tony Finau and others, might prove to be a bit much given how much shorter Tiger Woods, is off the tee as a direct result of back surgery. He can't crank and torque on his back that hard anymore - the younger Players can and they are driving balls 330 yards on a whim. However, the PGA, British and Masters are all stages now set-up for Tiger, to resume his assault on Jack's 18 Major victories. This is why I call it the "Second Coming." This is literally the "second" shot at Jack's all time record. 15 Majors in my lifetime. Epic.
Great to see Tiger win. All we need now is for the officials to get rid of the dirt bags in the galleries that yell out "get in the hole" every two seconds...as though they are all pissed or at a hockey match...rabble.... Oh and get Golf Channel to get rid of the moron who tells us that a player is "working the fifteenth" and speaks as though he has a degree in Eloquence or something...
