Top general says he would resist "illegal" nuke order from Trump

The top U.S. nuclear commander said Saturday he would push back against President Trump if he ordered a nuclear launch the general believed to be "illegal," saying he would hope to find another solution.

Isn't a proof that people are worried about a President who hides his mental problems badly ?

 

All of tRUmp's "orders" are and have been illegal.

 

Trump resides rent free in a lot of heads.

So far Trump has followed the law at every turn.

 

ANY decent general would resist ANY "illegal" nuke order from ANY president; this is meaningless posturing.

 

Funny story. The US sold NK nuclear reactors a mere two years before placing NK on an "axis of evil" list in an utterly bipartisan endeavor initiated under Clinton and followed through upon under Bush. Sold from a company Rumsfeld had once sat on the board of directors of. And Bush ponied up US taxpayer funding to assist NK in wrapping up the deal.

 

This is a simple military structure that has been around since the founding of this great country.

Military officers swear an oath to protect the constitution of the USA.

Swearing loyalty to the Constitution instead of the president or any other person means that officials cannot manipulate officers in order to gain control over the military and become dictators.

The “reporters” (democrats with press passes) who ask a general “will you obey an illegal order to launch nuclear weapons” know the answer that the officer will give, as its a part of his oath.

But don’t let that simple question/answer stop from spreading BS since the vast majority of people wouldn’t know the difference between a Lance Corporal, or a O6 Colonel.

 

Absolutely. Heck, a Private can refuse an order that is "illegal". On massive nothing burger, and as the General stated, "it's not that complicated."

Everyone knows trump is nuts and I think most would defy an illegal order.

A hearing was just held to determine ways to limit his ability to initiate a first strike, without Congressional approval.

 

Unless we or are an ally is attacked with nukes, or the military is 100% confident a nuclear attack is imminent, no President should be allowed to launch a first strike nuclear attack without the consent of the Vice-President and Secretary of Defense.

 

Well this 4-star is done. What makes a nuclear weapon release order “illegal”? I mean think about it? Anyway moving on, I would hope, just like anyone else, that they would don’t refuse, or at least question, a illegal nuclear strike order.

first strike with a nuclear weapon should be declared illegal unless intelligence agencies are 100% sure nuclear attack from that country is about to occur, and VP and Secr of Def agrees.

Of the past 11 Presidents the community organizer Barack Obama holds the record of issuing more unlawful orders than the past 11 Presidents combined.

Can't think of one unlawful order that Commander in Chief Trump has issued, not one.

Unlike Obama who surrounded himself with yes men and purged the Officers Corps of those who weren't yes men, President Trump had surrounded himself with those who are not yes men.

Gen. "Mad Dog" Mattis was fired by the Obama White House for not being a yes man.

Gen. Kelley was just about to be fired by the Obama White House for not being a yes man but Kelley retired before Obama could fire Kelley.

Unlike President Obama who left office after eight years and never understood the military chain of command, it's purpose and how it works, the current CnC Trump fully understands the military chain of command. I suppose Trump learned about the military chain of command while attending the ROTC N.Y. Military Academy for six years.

It's obvious Gen. Hyten isn't a yes man and must have slipped through the cracks that he wasn't purged by the Obama White House.

Only an idiot of a President as Commander in Chief would surround himself with yes men like Obama did.

MacArthur, Patton, Halsey, Nimitz, Vandegrift weren't yes men.
