So which word would you use to describe when someone holds two conflicting beleifs if not cognitive dissonance? Typically 'doublethink' is the word, but afaik 'doublethink' insinuates a LACK of the discomfort of knowing the two beleifs are contradictory, and the emotional responses typical in the gungrabber movement indicate a very strong discomfort and understanding of the conflict (as well as a marked refusal to correct the beleifs to be less conflicting).
