I would just like to pointedly shift your attention to Russia for a while. Russia has already reported the complete statistics for today, 2020-10-009. Things are not going well in Russia:



As you can see, Russia has jumped to more than +10,000 fresh C19 infections per day for the 6th day in a row. Further, the +12,126 listed for today is the highest haul for Russia since the pandemic began. Also, until now, Russia's longest continuous stretch of +10,000 daily cases was 11 days, from 2020-05-003 through 2020-05-013. So, if Russia stays over +10,000 for the next 6 days (and likely, it will), then it will set a new record for that nation. In June/July/August, Russia was whittling down cases to around +5,000, so the last 6 days represent a more than doubling of daily cases over that time.

Now, Russia's daily case-load looks like peanuts compared to India or even the USA, but the point is: Russia claimed to have a working vaccine and in fact, is currently testing it in a couple of former soviet satellite states, but that is no help to Russia right now, not at all. Also there can be no doubt that the rise in C19 cases is happening all over the world and even Russia cannot place its fingers on the scales enough to hide this fact. Soon, the world will be AVERAGING +350,000 cases per day, which means that the world will be jumping 1 million cases in slightly less than 3 days, or more than 10,000,000 cases per month.

I am sensing that history will record that the 2nd full week of October, 2020, which we are currently in, will represent the beginning of a massive fall wave, one that I sense will go deep into the winter.

Witnessed several citizens in Burke County, ND blowing their noses, thus, up North, Flu season has already started.

Thus, in reference to symptoms/feeling sick, the question is; Is it the Common Flu or Covid19? I’m guessing many that have flu-like symptoms will get tested for Covid19, and self-isolate “just in case”.

 

I'd just like to point out that today, Saturday, 2020-10-010, at circa 23:15 my time zone, 3 hours before WorldOMeter closes out the statistics for the day, the world has already jumped +310,000 cases over the day before. Usually, when I check the C19 stats around 11:00 PM my time, when I wake up the next morning, the world will have jumped another +100,000 cases after I stopped checking the statistics and went to bed.

It appears that this Saturday is going to be by far the heaviest C19 Saturday thus far during the run of this pandemic. We are facing the real possiblity that our world will come very close to +400,000 cases on this day; perhaps we will actually hit the +400,000 mark. Already with the world at at +310,000 today, the USA probably has about 20,000 more cases still to report, Brazil probably has 10,000 more to report. That alone brings us to +340,000. And then there are the dreadnaught nations of Colombia, Spain, Argentina, Peru and larger nations like Egypt, Oman, Venezuela, Belarus, Bahrain, El Salvador, etc, that have not reported anything at all yet today.

All said and told, out of over 213 nations, 123 have reported cases, leaving us with 90 nations left on the list and surely at least 70 of them will report some kind of COVID-19 numbers today.

This will also mean that for the first time ever, our world has had not only 5 days of +300,000 cases per day, it will have had SIX days of +300,000 per day.

Just to be crystal clear: the last time the world saw less than +200,000 cases was on 2020-07-013, 3 months ago, and the last time we saw less than +100,000 cases was on 2020-05-031, 4.5 months ago. We are not far away from +500,000 C19 cases per day becoming the norm.

Scary, eh? But this is the reality we are now facing. This pandemic is real and it is literally everywhere. Mask-up.

Note: I predicted last night, 2020-10-010, that the world would come very close to +400,000 cases today. It did not. That being said, due to time-constraints today, I am putting out the quick analysis very early on this day and it is entirely possible that the worldwide numbers for 2020-10-010 will be revised upward today during the run of the day. It's happened before on a Sunday for the Saturday directly before. Wait and see. It was a huge newsweek on the COVID-19 front...foremost that the world is now jumping 1 million C19 cases every three days.

If you compare the weekly average of this week before to the preceeding week, you will see that the average +daily cases rose considerably (+335,248 vs +297,117 the week before, statistically insignificant), but the average deaths rose measurably (+5,608 the week before to +5,672 now). +335,248 C19 cases per day = 233 fresh infections PER MINUTE.

India, which passed Brazil in total cases exactly five Sundays ago, is now +2,042,321 (the Sunday before: +1,706,891) cases ahead of Brazil and -872,699 (the Sunday before: -1,014,732) cases behind the USA. As you can see, India has long crossed over the 2/3 point between the USA and Brazil and is now far less cases behind the USA than it is ahead of Brazil.

Also, Colombia (911,316) went over 900,000 cases in this week, and both Argentina (894,206) and Spain (890,367) are not far behind. Not long from now, we will have at least 7 nations with over 1,000,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

The most important news here is that Russia has maintained over +10,000 new C19 cases for 8 days in a row now. Russia, which claims to have a working vaccine that is going on trials in a number of former Soviet-satellite states... how can this be?

In terms of total deaths per country, descending:

The top 4:

USA, total deaths: 219,695 / 20.32% of worldwide deaths (20.60% on the Sunday before). The USA is currently expected to hit 250,000 deaths Mid-November, 2020.

Brazil, total deaths: 150,506 / 13.92% of worldwide deaths (14.05% on the Sunday before). Extrapolated 200,000 death date, based on the daily average of 657 deaths per day, from 2020-10-014 = +81.6 days from now: New Years Day 2021.

India, total deaths: 109,184 / 10.10% of worldwide deaths (9.86% on the Sunday before). If India maintains this +1,020 death per day average, then in 95.3 days, India will go over 200,000 C19 deaths around January 12, 2021.

Mexico, total deaths: 83,642 / 7.74% of worldwide deaths (7.57% on the Sunday before). No extrapolation for 100,000 deaths quite yet.

Combined (560,297), the top four nations currently represent 51.82% of all total deaths in the world to-date (was also 52.09% the day before).

+355,086 new COVID-19 cases over the week before.
NEW YORK went over 500,000 total confirmed COVID-19 cases during this week.
Both PUERTO RICO and NEBRASKA went over 50,000 total confirmed COVID-19 cases during this week.
OHIO went over 5,000 total C19 deaths during this week.


There are now 219,695 total COVID-19 deaths in the USA, +5,084 of those deaths were recorded during the run of this week.
USA WEEKLY rolling average = 50,727 new infections & 726 deaths per day.
14,471 C19 cases in the USA are listed in critical care (+273 over the week before).
TOTAL PERFORMED C19 tests: 118.5 million

You can see that the USA is now back up to an average of just less than +51,000 new C19 infections per day. The last time the USA was around this average was on 2020-08-017, almost two months ago.

An average of +50,727 new infections per day = 35.3 new infections per MINUTE.

Fortunately for the USA....momentarily, the average deaths are staying under +1,000 and also under the +850 from my extrapolation (see: bottom of analysis).

If cases massively surge again nationwide, there's a pretty solid chance that California, currently at 855,389 cases, could go over the 1,000,000 mark right around election day. An average of +6,573 cases per day would get California there and when you consider that because of the forest fires, there is a massive backlog of testing and test results in that state yet to be published, it is within the realm of possibility that this can happen, but less likely to happen than one week ago.

FACIT: we ended the 7-day period analysed with 219,695 total US deaths from COVID-19.



This means that we have currently lost the equivalent of more than the population of JAMAICA or just slightly than the population of RICHMOND, never to get the one or the other back again.

ADJUSTED EXTRAPOLATION (started on 2020-08-001)​

As of 2020-08-001, I adjusted the extrapolation upward from an estimated average +700 deaths per day (from 2020-06-001 through 2020-07-031) to an estimated average of +850 deaths per day in the USA. Here the current projected milestones:

2020-09-020: 200,000 deaths (the old extrapolation projected: 2020-10-013). 200,000 deaths were reached 5 days before, on 2020-09-015.
2020-11-003 (Election Day): 237,500 deaths
2020-11-018: 250,000 deaths (the old extrapolation projected: 2020-12-023).
2020-12-031: 286,697 deaths on New Years Eve, 2020 going into 2021.

At current:



This means that we are currently at +1,748 deaths over the extrapolation, which puts us also currently 2.1 days ahead of the next milestone-projections. This value is the lowest value in the extrapolation since 2020-08-008. Currently, the average daily death rate in the USA is: +726 per day, 124 under the extrapolated +850 per day. If we stay at this level, then in 14 days, the extrapolation would land at 0 and on the day after, we would go into a negative value, which would be a very, very good thing.

I know it may be tiring to see these statistics all the time, but I do think it's important to follow the data-path every day and to put it in print, for posterity's sake, so that the naysayers cannot say "nay" without looking totally ignorant.

So. China has admitted to 21 new cases. Is this believable?

 

The switch to once-a-week fuller analyses for the worldwide figures and the USA, and daily screenshots of those two plus the other 3 dreadnaught nations appears to be working well. It certainly is saving me about 7 hours of worktime at the computer per week. Not quite as much minutae per day, but the weekly overview will simply have to do.

This week is my daughter's fall vacation (German schools have 2 full weeks of fall vacation) and she is here with me for a number of days. Happy, happy, joy, joy!

But as you all can also see, the situation is becoming quite serious in Europe, which is obviously plunging into a 2nd wave.

Therefore: it's been a long time since I've done an in-depth analysis of Germany, but one will be coming out at the following weekend. Could be very enlightening.

I know we are just 22 days away from what is likely to be the most consequential US General elections (50 states plus DC) in a very, very long time, but COVID-19 does not care about elections. COVID-19 doesn't get tired of being in or out of the news. This virus simply seeks human hosts and invades them. So, in spite of the mountinig tension or excitement in the lead-up to the Biden-Trump battle for the White House in the USA, I just want to remind that C19 is still delivering a gut-punch to the entire world.

COVID-19 should never have been political to begin with, and we Americans are now paying an extremely high price for the politics of this, which never should have been. Had we ALL masked up in March 2020, we would not be where we are now. It's really that simple.
