UPDATED PERMANENT DISCLAIMER AS OF 2020-11-009

Short COVID-19 analysis for the 1st day of Christmas, Friday, 2020-12-025 (GMT +0 - Greenwich / 20:00 EDT)
Worldwide and 'dreadnaught' nations circa 1,500,000 COVID-19 cases upwards

-Weekdays: I'm releasing only barebones data for the worldwide figures and the top nations throughout the week.
-Then, I will publish a large set of End of Week (EOW) reports for the Sunday of each week and also two large analyses at End of Month (EOM) and End of Year (EOY).
-You can then interpret the tables and screenshots for yourselves.
-Whatever is not screenshotted during the week, you can always see for yourself at the online-excel-document (see: sig-file).

As of 2020-12-007, I added Turkey, Ukraine and South Africa to the tracking. Turkey is now in the daily small analyses. Peru just went over the 1,000,000-mark on 2020-12-021, which I noted HERE. And Ukraine just went over the 1,000,000 early on Christmas Eve, which I noted HERE.

Of the final tracking country with over 900,000 cases but not yet at 1,000,000:
South Africa: 983,359, averaging +11,689 new infections per day = 1.4 days before South Africa jumps as 18th nation over 1,000,000 = 2020-12-027

We are going to end the year 2020 with 18 nations over the 1,000,000-mark.

BTW, I would like to encourage everyone that, when you read the excel table screenshots, look at the +cases and +deaths for each country and then go to columns N & O and do a quick mental comparison to the 7 day rolling averages for both of those figures. I think that this can often be very enlightening.

SOUTH AFRICA GOES OVER 1,000,000 TOTAL C19 CASES, IS THE 18th NATION ON EARTH TO DO SO.

    This happened today, 2020-12-027:

    The South-Africa excel-table:

    2020-12-027 COVID-19 SOUTH AFRICA 000.png

This table will also be included in the pre-analysis tables in about 9-10 hours from now.

And so, precisely as projected, our world ends the terrible year 2020 with 18 nations having reported more than 1,000,000 confirmed C19 infections apiece.

UPDATED PERMANENT DISCLAIMER AS OF 2020-11-009

Pre-EOW-analysis tables for for the week of 2020-12-021 through 2020-12-027

    (GMT +0 - Greenwich = 20:00 EDT), Part 1:
Worldwide and and top 18 nations (split into two postings)
I started doing this differently two weeks ago: since Spain waits until Monday evening (my time) to release its numbers for Saturday, Sunday and Monday and since a slew of nations do a lot of retroactive updates during the day on Monday, which of course shifts the Sunday values, the combined Worldwide/USA analysis (with Spain tacked-on) will first come out late tonight, in about 10-11 hours. Also, things like the weekly values table and the rubrik worktables will all come out later. This saves me an extra step in the work, which is already tedious enough. This is also why the screenshots for the Worldwide / USA / Spain values are marked as "semi-final" for now.

Here a screenshot of just page 1 of the WorldOMeter table (semi-final), for reference:

UPDATED PERMANENT DISCLAIMER AS OF 2020-11-009

Combined Worldwide / USA / Spain analysis for the week of 2020-12-021 through 2020-12-027

    (GMT +0 - Greenwich = 20:00 EDT)
    CHRISTMASTIDE 2020
THIS IS THE FINAL END-OF-WEEK ANALYSIS FOR THE YEAR 2020

Until now, I have always done separate Worldwide and USA analyses, but decided to condense the two analyses into one in the last weeks and not write so much small-detail blah-blah, well aware that those who have been following my postings are excellent at interpreting the data for themselves. Also, since Spain waits until Mondays to get the weekend data in, I think that this mini-format will be the right one for the future. A lot of how you see material presented here will still be used in the new, upcoming 2021 format.

The new crown-jewel in all of this is this table:

2020-12-027 COVID-19 WORLDWIDE and major nations weekly compare tables.png

The values in columns L and O are the most important: they show the difference to the week before. In the case of Covid-19, positive values are bad, negative values are good. This table saves me oodles of text to write. If you, however, have any questions about it, then let me know. Right now, in the diff-colums, there are a lot of deeply negative values, which I would normally greet, but please do remember that the statistical reporting tends to drop-off sharply during holidays and in this week, we had Christmas Eve and the first 3 days of Christmas, which technically stretches all the way until Epiphany on January 6th of the following year. In the USA, one celebrates Christmas just for one day, primarily on December 25th, but in many, many nations across the earth, people celebrate both a first and a second day of Christmas (25th and 26th) as national holidays, free from work. And then, directly following the 2 days of Christmas was a Sunday (the 3rd day of Christmas!), in this case. So, although I wish I could say "Hallelujah, the numbers are dropping like flies!", what this probably means is that there is a backlog of C19 numbers just waiting to be reported as of today, 2020-12-028.

There were 15 nation-rubrik changes in the last week. The biggest and most noticeable changes were that 3 nations all crossed over the 1,000,000-mark during Christmas week.

    USA:

THERE WAS NO CHANGE FROM THE SEMI-FINAL TOTALS POSTED EARLIER ON 2020-12-028

There were 6 unit-rubrik changes over the last week. There is the possibility that the state of New York will also go over the million-mark by year's end. Wait and see.

For months now, I have been extrapolating the likely future total deaths in the USA. For a long time, that extrapolation held, but as all can see, in the last 5 weeks, ever increasingly, the explosion of deaths has blown this extrapolation fully out of the water, so I am just gonna leave it here for all to see and that's that. We are now over +57,791 deaths past the extrapolation and it is looking very much as if we will either get very close to or go over 350,000 total deaths in the USA by year's end. Instead of posting the calculation table (which you can see online for yourself), I will post the last 11 days instead of just these 7 with the EOY report for the USA.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    SPAIN:
    * 1,885,938 *
    +5,336 daily cases / +75 daily deaths
+63,331 cases over the week before / +898 deaths over the week before
Spain, like Turkey, has problems with prompt reporting due to the backlog in autonomous regions of the country

UPDATED PERMANENT DISCLAIMER AS OF 2020-11-009

    Short COVID-19 analysis: Monday, 2020-12-028 (GMT +0 - Greenwich / 20:00 EDT)

Ukraine just went over the 1,000,000 early on Christmas Eve, which I noted HERE. South Africa cleared the 1,000,000 bar on 2020-12-027, which I noted HERE. This means that we are going to end the year 2020 with 18 nations over the 1,000,000-mark and all 18 of them are nations that I am tracking on a daily basis.

BTW, I would like to encourage everyone that, when you read the excel table screenshots, look at the +cases and +deaths for each country and then go to columns N & O and do a quick mental comparison to the 7 day rolling averages for both of those figures. I think that this can often be very enlightening.

THE SIG-FILE EXCEL TRACKING CURRENTLY ENCOMPASSES WORLDWIDE FIGURES + 18 NATIONS
In the week, the figures for worldwide +12 of those nations are published as screenshots here.

    WORLDWIDE:

    +511,651 daily cases / +9,309 deaths
    ROLLING 7-DAY AVERAGE = +564,932 daily cases / +10,375 daily deaths
WORLDWIDE, 7.2 PEOPLE ARE DYING FROM COVID-19 EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF EVERY SINGLE DAY
AT THIS RATE OF GROWTH, THE WORLD WILL END 2020 AT OR OVER 83 MILLION TOTAL C19 CASES

My plans for the COVID-19 reporting in 2021: Format, Timing & Content changes
    PART 1

2020 is wrapping up and surely it has developed in ways that none of us could have imagined. With the exception of just 2 days, I've reported on this thread every single day since its inception in the middle of March, 2020. It’s been a great deal of work for me on top of my professional and family life, but I really feel that it has been worth it. We owe it to posterity to record these things so that in the future, people will know the cold, hard facts of what happened, and I am one of those people with the ability and desire to track this kind of information.

When I started tracking/reporting the COVID-19 stats on Twitter (2020-02-027), the world had just reached 82,411 COVID-19 cases and 2,808 deaths; when I opened this thread on March 14th, 2020, our world had reached 156,000 cases and just a little more than 5,800 deaths. Shortly after this thread began, large parts of our world, including the USA, went on lockdown.

That was more than 81.6 million cases and 1.77 million deaths ago, just to be clear. And since then,18 nations have cleared the 1-million-case mark; certainly more nations will follow suit in 2021. So, before I introduce the new format for 2021, I would like to walk through the major chronological points in the COVID-19 2020 history of our world. This is going to be a long history, but it is not exhaustive; I am only covering the biggest points. It does, however, illustrate how immense the COVID-19 pandemic has become and I suspect that you will be glad to have read it once you have waded through it. Also, in the online excel table, there is a tab just for this kind of history.

THE PROGRESS OF COVID-19 FROM APRIL THROUGH DECEMBER, 2020:

Slightly less than 3 weeks after I began this thread, the world jumped over the 1,000,000 C19 case-mark (2020-04-002). That was the first time in 2020 that an ‚entity‘ entered the 7-digit-zone. At that time, just seeing the world hit 1,000,000 cases was a shock for most if not all of us.

3 weeks later, on 2020-04-027, the world went over 3,000,000 cases and on the same day, the United States of America (USA) went over the 1,000,000-mark and was therefore the 1st nation to achieve this milestone. Just shy of two month’s later, on 2020-06-019, Brazil was the 2nd nation on earth to go over the 1,000,000-mark, but not before the World and the USA had reached 7,000,000 and 2,000,000 total cases, respectively. Regressing slightly: at the beginning of May, 2020, sensing that we were really in this for a very long haul, I began daily USA analyses to go with the daily worldwide analyses that had already started in April. On 2020-05-026, the day after Memorial Day, the USA exceeded 100,000 C19 deaths and was the first nation of (currently) four to do this, a truly sad milestone. Ok, onward now...

On 2020-06-027, our World entered the 8-digit zone and went over the 10,000,000-mark in C19 cases. This happened shortly after 8 PM my time in Germany, on a Saturday. It was a horrifying feeling for me.

One month after Brazil joined the „million-club“, on 2020-07-016, Brazil sailed over 2,000,000 cases and on that same day, India became the 3rd nation on Earth to go over the 1,000,000-mark. On 2020-07-027, the USA exceeded 150,000 C19 deaths. 12 days later, on 2020-08-008, Brazil exceeded 100,000 C19 deaths.

Although the feeling was that there were less +cases on the summer, in reality, on 2020-08-009, the World had doubled from 10,000,000 to 20,000,000 C19 cases. It only took 6 weeks to achieve this doubling.

To start off the Fall season, directly on 2020-09-001, Russia, which had been creeping up the scale slowly but surely, became the 4th nation to go over the 1,000,000-mark. In fact, you can see from the Russia excel table that the sudden jump in +cases in that country presaged what was soon going to happen in the rest of Europe and the USA.. Two weeks later on 2020-09-015, the USA exceeded 200,000 total C19 deaths. On 2020-09-027, the Indian state of Maharashtra cleared the 1,000,000-mark and became the first state/province within a nation to do this. Four days later still, on 2020-10-001, India became the third nation to exceed 100,000 total C19 deaths. Just a few short days before that, the world overall exceeded 1,000,000 C19 deaths.

So, it took 9 months from the beginning of the pandemic for 4 nations to clear the 1,000,000-case-hurdle.The remaining 14 nations sprinted over the line in relatively quick sucession from the middle of October until the end of December, 2020:

on 2020-10-019, both Spain and Argentina jumped over the 1,000,000-mark as the 5th and 6th nations to do so. 4 days later, on 2020-10-023, France went over the 1,000,000-mark and was the 7th nation to do so. The very next day, on 2020-10-024, Colombia did likewise and was the 8th nation to do so. By the time this happened, the world had aready started seeing at least +500,000 fresh C19 infections per day; the 2nd wave was in full-swing. A week later, on 2020-10-031, the United Kingdom went over the 1,000,000-mark and was the 9th nation to do so. More nations jumped over the 1,000,000-mark in October, 2020 than in the 9 months before.

On 2020-11-006, three days after the US-General Election, the USA entered the 8-digit zone and became the first nation on Earth to have accrued more than 10,000,000 total C19 cases all on its own. On that same day, the US state of Texas cleared the 1,000,000-mark and became the second state/province within a nation to do this. One day later, on 2020-11-007, the day on which the networks declared that the Democratic presidential ticket won the US general election, our world sprang over 50,000,000 C19 cases. On 2020-11-011, Italy became the 10th nation to go over the 1,000,000 mark. Just one month before, Italy had only 360,000 cases. The next day, the US state of California went over the 1,000,000-mark, the third state/province within a nation to do so. On 2020-11-014, the USA exceeded 250,000 total C19 deaths. On 2020-11-015, Mexico became the 11th nation to go over the 1,000,000-mark. Just four days later, on 2020-11-019, Mexico also exceeded 100,000 C19 deaths and became the fourth nation on Earth do to so, after the USA, Brazil and India. On that same day and for the first time, the USA alone exceeded +200,000 fresh C19 infections in one single day and Brazil jumped over 6,000,000 total C19 cases. On 2020-11-026, Germany became the 12th nation to go over the 1,000,000-mark in C19 cases.

On 2020-12-001, the the US state of Florida went over the 1,000,000-mark, the fourth state/province within a nation to do so. The next day, on 2020-12-002, Poland became the 13th nation to go over the 1,000,000-mark in C19 cases. And the very next day, on 2020-12-003, Iran became the 14th nation to do likewise. One week later, on 2020-12-010, Turkey suddenly shot well over the 1,000,000-case-mark and was the 15th nation to do so. Actually, it entered a huge backlog of cases and suddenly landed at 1.7 million on that day. Simultaneously, on 2020-12-010, the USA cleared 16,000,000 cases and the world went over 70,000,000…. the next day, on 2020-12-011, as the hits just kept coming in, the USA exceeded 300,000 total C19 deaths.

On 2020-12-018, India entered the 8-digit zone and became the second nation on Earth to have accrued more than 10,000,000 C19 cases all on its own.

The last three „million club“ nations reached this milestone right before or after Christmas: on 2020-12-022, slow-snail' Peru was the 16th nation to go over 1,000,000 C19 cases. On Christmas Eve, 2020-12-024, Ukraine did likewise, as the 17th nation. And just two days ago, on 2020-12-027, South Africa was the 18th and final nation in this year to clear the 1,000,000-case-marker. There is also the possibility that the US state of New York will become the fifth state/province within a country to go over the 1,000,000 mark by year’s end, but that is not yet written in stone. There is also the very, very strong possibility that the USA will hit 350,000 total C19 deaths on New Year's Eve, 2020.

I can say with certainty that no other nations will join the million-club in this year. Next in line: the Netherlands (770,000) and Indonesia (727,000). There are not enough days left in this year for them to join the million club. We will end the year 2020 with 18 nations over 1,000,000 cases a piece, 4 nations with over 100,000 total C19 deaths apiece and 6 nations with between 50,000-100,000 total C19 deaths apiece.

I have reported all of these things (and much more) as they happened, but seeing them all at once is... a shock.

But just looking at the rankings and realizing that in just 10 weeks time during the end-spurt of 2020, 14 nations all sprung like young gazelles over this gruesome milestone, in spite of the beginning of inoculations of any number of (apparently) working vaccines, it is very likely that 20 to 30 more nations are still going to go over the 1,000,000-mark before the storm subsides. Even at nominal growth levels as we saw last summer in most of the world, at least 20 more nations will accrue 1,000,000 total C19 cases during 2021. This poses a conundrum for me, for it means that by the end of the pandemic, I may be tracking as many as 45-50 nations DAILY. In terms of recording these things in an online excel table as I have been doing, that is certainly doable and not very time-consuming, but is probably too much work to do in terms of screenshotting and reporting on a daily basis. So, some things are going to need to change. Otherwise, the analyses I provide will once again become too heavy-laden. With that in mind, I am going to change the following vis-a-vis C19 analyses. See: Part II (next posting)

My plans for the COVID-19 reporting in 2021: Format, Timing & Content changes
    PART 2
    Part 1 is HERE.

    TIMING and FREQUENCY
First, there will be massive EOY (End of Year) reporting for 2020, but according to the following timetable:

On 2021-01-001: excel tables for 2020-12-031 for the worldwide values and the 18 nations that I am currently tracking, just like the EOW analyses have been in the past weeks.

On 2021-01-001, later in the evening (my time): a very extensive EOY USA analysis for 2020-12-031, most likely, in two parts.

On 2020-01-002: a very extensive EOY worldwide analysis (in two parts) for 2020-12-031. Because WorldOMeter has a „2 days ago“ function in the worldwide daily tables, I can allow one extra day’s time in order to adjust for countries that are surely going to shake-down their end-of-year statistics and addend all sorts of stuff. This gives extra time to be more methodical and not be rushed, for the analyses will be huge.

Concerning COVID-19 information provided as of 2021-01-001 (New Years Day), I will now only be providing excel table screenshots for all entities approaching or above 5,000,000 cases (instead of 1,000,000 cases). This means that for data from 2021-01-001 onwards, at least for a good while, I will only be providing daily screenshot material for the worldwide figures, the USA, India and Brazil. However, with time, Russia, France, and others as well will reach the newly-set 5,000,000-mark and will then re-enter the daily screenshot routine.

Also, as of January, 2021, there will no longer be End of Week (EOW) analyses. Instead, there will be a mid-month analysis and an EOM (End of Month) analysis, including massive excel table screenshots and special calculations.

For months with 28 or 30 days in them, logically, the mid-month report will be for the 14th or 15th day of the month, respectively.

For months with 31 days, the mid-month report will be either on the 15th or the 16th of the month, depending on how I see the numbers developing up to the 15th, also whether or not a Sunday comes into question as the end-date.

This means that for the year 2021, I will publish 12 mid-month analyses, 10 EOM analyses, 1 half-year analysis (end of June, 2021) and 1 EOY analysis (end of December, 2021), making for a sum total of 24 large analyses. To contrast, in the year 2020, starting in April/May, I provided large analyses every single day until the end of September and then moved slowly to the weekly format, so I have quite literally written well over 300 large C19 analyses in 2020. That’s too much, looking into the future.

    THE RUBRIK TABLES
It’s time to tweak the values for both rubrik tables and make them leaner. As of 2021, for the USA figures:
    100,000 / 1,000,000 / 5,000,000 total cases. Will no longer track 1,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 50,000 case-marks.
    +500 / +1,000 / +10,000 +cases. Will no longer track +100, +5,000 case-marks.
    1,000 / 10,000 / 50,000 total deaths. Will no longer track 100, 5,000 death-marks.
+deaths – remains as I had in 2020 (no changes)
    1,000,000 / 10,000,000 / 100,000,000 total tests performed. Will no longer track 500,000 tests-mark.

For the worldwide figures, the rubrik table will also be trimmed-up in a similar way. I will be tracking the following, with lower categories deleted, as was the case with the USA:
    100,000 / 1,000,000 / 10,000,000 total cases
    +1,000 / +10,000 / +100,000 +cases
    1,000 / 10,000 / 100,000 deaths
    +deaths – as I had in 2020 (no changes)
    1,000,000 / 10,000,000 / 100,000,000 total tests performed

Starting in March, 2021: VACCINATION DATA
A separate and very detailed posting will be coming out shortly, but as soon as the nations begin releasing reliable data on how many people have been vaccinated, per vaccine type, including how many have completed the second vaccine, I will start tracking this, most likely with a separate thread.

I am using the @ function to notify a lot of people about the changes for 2021. If any of you have suggestions for what you would like to see, please let me know before New Year’s Day. Remember, this posting is in two parts, I feel that it's good if you all read both parts.

    @Adfundum @Derideo_Te @ronv @Curious Always @gnoib @a better world @Sallyally @truth and justice @JakeJ @Iranian Monitor @The Scotsman @dairyair @LangleyMan @Jonsa @bx4 @CenterField @ChiCowboy @WalterSobchak @AZ. @Asherah @bigfella @Phyxius @StillBlue @Bowerbird @AKS @Arkanis @MJ Davies @PARTIZAN1 @TomFitz @Quantum Nerd @btthegreat @Cubed

Folks, I don't use the @ function very often, but if you prefer that I not do it at all, just let me know. No offense was intended by @-ing this time around.

And finally, it's only fair and proper to thank @Falena for allowing this data-thread to flourish in this subforum, also for sticky'ing it. Falena, your input is always welcome on this thread and I am always glad when you stop by.

So, y'all, wash your hands, physically distance, stay safe, healthy and happy.

Soooo, this happened at the NorthStar Mall in San Antonio, Texas on December 22nd, 2020, in the evening, during peak Christmas shopping time:

Covidiot Cultists Spawn Melee At Texas Mall [VIDEO] - Joe.My.God.

The link is from JMG (a very good but somewhat unorthodox news source) as the San Antonio ABC link decided that it didn't like my European server!

But here are two videos, one with a little less than 5 minutes of raw-footage:

The video from the San Antonio ABC news coverage:

    Sad.... just plain old sad.....

Things are not going well in the UK.

Yesterday, the UK broke it's record and recorded +41,385 new C19 cases. It was the first time ever that the UK had reached +40,000 C19 cases in just one day.
Today, 2020-12-029, the UK broke the record set yesterday and recorded +53,135 new C19 cases.

We've been in practically a lockdown for the last 6 weeks but many people are just not taking any notice of the rules now. People are not socially distancing in stores and people are still visiting friends and family in private houses. Hardly anyone bothers to use the sanitizers supplied at shop entrances or wipe down any shop trolleys before use. The roads were just as busy this Christmas as last Christmas even though we are supposed to stay in our city and limit travel within city. And we had anti-mask protests and anti-vaccinations protests in London last week

1192. We missed the goal again, 1200.
But still a good haul, around 160 in a week. 30 more than the week before, as I remember.

We are just a touch under 600/100,000/week.

But trust we are working hard on it.
Over Christmas the churches were full, packed. the stores packed.
    Masks at around 50%.
    26 and 27 the restaurants full, not 50%, 100%.

UPDATED PERMANENT DISCLAIMER AS OF 2020-11-009

    Short COVID-19 analysis: Tuesday, 2020-12-029 (GMT +0 - Greenwich / 20:00 EDT)

Since 2020-12-031 (New Year's Eve, or as it is often called, "Silvester") is a holiday or 1/2 holiday in many countries, that means that today, 2020-12-030 is actually the last full work-day of this year and since the backlog of C19 cases and deaths from the Christmas Weekend are still being processed through the systems of many, many countries, it could very well end up that today's end-numbers, when they come out, will be eye-popping in nature.

We all know that this virus doesn't simply halt because mankind is celebrating a holiday, but it does mean that the work-schedules of medical, technical and statistical personnel are curtailed. So, if my gut feeling is right, today will show some mighty huge (and frankly, depressing) numbers, tomorrow will look more "normal" (if we can even call anything in 2020 "normal) and then we have New Year's Day 2021 on a Friday, with a weekend right at the door. Logic tells me that we may also see a heavy Saturday (2021-01-002), a moderate Sunday and then, as of coming Monday, 2021-01-004, I suspect that we will see the beginning of -by far- the worst month in C19 history. In fact, it may end up being the worst month overall, as the new strain, although it is apparently not more deadly, is 70% more infectious.

I am writing this so that we all can take a sober, clear view of what is about to happen. My friendly advice is: don't let the lighter numbers that happen during the holidays lull us into thinking that things are getting better. They are not getting better. They are getting considerably worse.

Perhaps now would be a good time for the entire population of our planet to actually listen to what the scientists and medical personnel have been saying all along:

    wash your hands
physically distance yourselves from each other
    take no unneccesary risks
    wear a nose-mouth covering, also known as a face-mask.

Don't you know that UFOs are a huge problem.
We were able to see it this year again, especially in the Southern Pacific.
1 ship sank and 4 had sever damage, during the current Vendee Globe.
    All done by UFOs.

We need to know, don't you think so.

2020 End of Year / 2021 Beginning of Year housekeeping details:

As of the New Year, when it comes to time-zone calculations, I am moving from GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) to UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).

    Online link-libraries

For those who have been following my analyses over the year, you will notice that I often included the links for smaller analyses leading up to the larger weekend or EOM analyses. Those links can also be found here:

    Statistikhengst - Political Forum COVID-19 Link-Library May-Dec 2020

The online google document has an extremely cool side-function:

    2020-12-031 COVID-19 Link-Bibliothek screenshot.png

the date-listing at the left can be used to get very quickly to the date you wish to see. If you are looking for information for a specific date, don't forget to look at the links under the day after, because most of the analyses came out on the following day. The sum total of the analyses that I recorded the links for from April 27th, 2020 until now is just under 800 and once the New Year's analyses are done, we should land at 805 or 806. Plenty of good reading material for the future. Herr Statistikhengst was a busy little bee in 2020, nöööö.

Also, just a reminder that in the online excel-table, at the tab for the worldwide figures and also every country, the dates in the very leftmost column are hyperlinked to their corresponding analysis. Here Mexico, just as an example:

    2020-12-031 COVID-19 Excel data links screenshot.png

And of course, I already have the online link-library for 2021 up and running:

    Statistikhengst - Political Forum COVID-19 Link-Library Jan-Dec 2021

Both of these links will be present at the top left of every analysis in 2021, just like the permanent disclaimer. There is a two-day overlap between the 2020 links and the 2021 links: 2021-01-001 and 2021-01-002. Those two dates will be in both documents.

You should be able to view the documents online and also download them, should you wish.

Why did I do this? As a friendly service to the PF community. You can feel free to pass the links along to others who might be interesting in the statistical history of C19.

    -Stat

PS: in 5 hours I will be saying goodbye to 2020 and drinking some champagne to 2021 and when I do that, I will be thinking of all of you and wishing you all a Happy New Year!

    Visualization software

I've been playing around with certain types of data-visualization software to see if I can make this spreadsheet material a little more interesting to see. There is a learning process involved in all of this and there are various, diverse types of software, so this is going to take a while, but I would like to turn the viewing of C-19 data into a 3D-experience, if its possible.

Analysis tables for EOM (End of Month) December 2020 & EOY (End of Year), 2020-12-031

(UTC +0, Greenwich = 20:00 UTC -5, East Coast of the USA), Part 1:
Worldwide and and top 18 nations (split into two postings)

    READ!
The end-of-year analyses for pretty much any undertaking are usually different than the rest of the year. It is no different with this data.
Since December 31st is not only the end of a month, but also the end of the entire year, these tables/analyses will be used to cover both aspects of the data.

    First, the schedule:
-these two postings are the screenshots of the Worldwide figures and the top 18 nations, all of them now over 1,000,000 C19 cases. At this moment, the Worldwide and USA figures are preliminary.

-in about 10 hours, I will publish the final USA figures in the form of a very large analysis, likely spread over 2 postings.

-Tomorrow, on 2021-01-002, I will then publish the end-analysis for the Worldwide figures for 2020-12-031. WorldOMeter has a "2 days ago" function at its main table, which allows us to wait one more day to see the final numbers. The advantage to this is that nations that may be adjusting their total figures will have one more day to do so. Like the USA analysis, the worldwide analysis will be very large and will likely be spread out over 2 postings. With the USA and Worldwide analyses I will be adding a link to a screenshot overflow thread at my blog. This will be explained in both analyses. Should for any reason the worldwide or USA numbers for 2020-12-031 be drastically changed over this coming week, then I will post an update.

    Second
, a new element comes into today's tables, namely, the use of the ➚ ➘ ➙ arrows within the half-monthy and monthly calculations. Those arrows mean that the current +calculation in cases / deaths is either more, less or relatively equal to the value from the month before. For instance, when you look at the preliminary worldwide figures directly below, you will see an for both the +cases and the +deaths, meaning that there were more +cases and +deaths from December 31 to November 30 as from November 30 to October 31 and so on. The mathematical proof for this is easy to see in columns P and Q.

    Third
, yesterday, I published this posting: Online Link-Libraries for 2020 & 2021, posted 2020-12-031, 18:59 UTC +1, +13071. This is why there is a new permanent double-link right under the standard disclaimer link.

Fourth: the screenshots for these tables list UTC +1 as the end time. It's actually UTC +0. Germany is on UTC +1 time, so it's a small error on my part and not worth re-screenshotting the entire mishpochah this time around. It doesn't change the fact that these values are for EOD in Greenwich, which is 8 PM in the Eastern Time Zone of the USA.

So, let's get started. Here a screenshot of just page 1 of the WorldOMeter table (preliminary totals), for reference:

    Chronological online PF C-19 analysis Library-links: 2020 / 2021

Before you read this the last analysis for the USA for 2020, please read the notes to the pre-analysis tables here:
    Pre-analysis tables Part I for 2020-12-031, posted 2021-01-001, 12:13 UTC +1, #13072.

    STAT'S EXCEL-TABLE:
    2020-12-031 COVID-19 USA 000 (FINAL TOTALS).png

In one year's time, the USA went from 0 to 20.4 million COVID-19 cases and from 0 to 354,000 COVID-19 deaths. Before you read farther, re-read that last sentence and reflect for a moment. Believe me, it's a good idea. Let that sad news sink in for a while.

The USA advanced +6,526,616 more C19 cases in the month of December, 2020. For context: it took the entire world just a little more than five full months to get to a TOTAL of 6,562,696 cases on 2020-06-003.
What the averages mean: +190,618, +2,450 = 132.2 fresh C19 cases and 1.7 C19 deaths per minute in the USA. EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY.

    The 4-Rubriks Worksheet:

This graphic is very telling. Two examples:

-150 days ago, at the end of July, 2020, there were 28 Units with over 1,000 total C19 deaths. Now, there are 44.
And so forth and so on.

COVID-19 in the USA, by all 57 UNITS, + cases,

I am now going an entirely different way these days when it comes to monthly statistics for the USA. At the online excel document (see: sig-file), I have opened a new table, porting over the data from the last day of the month and also the month before and then adding some calculation functions that are not at the WorldOMeter site. Here the monthly +cases, something you cannot see at WorldOMeter:

    2020-12-031 COVID-19 USA 003 -month plus cases.png
    2020-12-031 COVID-19 USA 004 -month plus cases.png

As you can see, 19 states within the Union saw more than +100,000 fresh C19 infections during the last month of 2020 and California, our Union's largest state, saw more than +1,000,000 new cases in just one month. That is..... absolutely terrifying.

COVID-19 in the USA, by all 57 UNITS, + tests:

The order of total tests you can find at worldometers, but here, the +tests (monthly), which you cannot find at WorldOMeter:

Ignore the top 5 - that's just the excel table going crazy due to a lack of data, but as of row 8 down to row 31, now that is some serious positivity going on. The states of North Carolina and Kentucky are the closest to the national positivity rate.

COVID-19 in the USA, by all 57 UNITS, total deaths:
    2020-12-031 COVID-19 USA 007 - total deaths.png
    2020-12-031 COVID-19 USA 008 - total deaths.png

43 Units (42 states + Veterans affairs) clock out this year with at least 1,000 C19 deaths apiece.
Of those 43, 10 states in the Union ended 2020 with more than 10,000 C10 deaths a piece.

COVID-19 in the USA, by all 57 UNITS, + deaths:

In the last month of 2020, we saw 26 units (25 states + Veterans affairs) suffer more than +1,000 deaths in just one month and three of those units, all states (CA, TX and PA) sufferered more than +5,000 deaths just in the month of December. IL, with +4,993, was literally on the cusp of the +5,000-mark, so in reality, it was four units, not three. You can check out the mortality rates for yourselves. With so much suffering all throughout the Union right now, what difference does it make if one area has a somewhat higher mortality rate than another? We are all suffering greatly right now. The numbers simply do not lie.

FACIT: we ended the year 2020 with 354,215 total US deaths from COVID-19.

    ADJUSTED EXTRAPOLATION (started on 2020-08-001)

As most of you know, I had a calculated death-total extrapolation running all the way since June, 2020. On 2020-08-001, I adjusted the extrapolation upward from an estimated average +700 deaths per day (from 2020-06-001 through 2020-07-031) to an estimated average of +850 deaths per day in the USA (2020-08-001 through 2020-12-031). Here were the projected milestones:

2020-09-020: 200,000 deaths (the old extrapolation projected: 2020-10-013). 200,000 deaths were reached 5 days before, on 2020-09-015.
2020-11-003 (Election Day): 237,500 deaths. On election day, we hit 238,641 deaths, very close to the actual extrapolation.
2020-11-018: 250,000 deaths (the old extrapolation projected: 2020-12-023). We reached 250,000 deaths on November 14th, four days ahead of the extrapolation.
2020-12-031: 286,697 deaths on New Years Eve, 2020 going into 2021. We exceeded this total already on 2020-12-005, 26 days ahead of the extrapolation.

With that in mind, here the complete data for all 7 months (put on your glasses for the 1st screenshot!):

You can see that the extrapolation indeed projected 286,697 total US COVID-19 deaths, were the +850 deaths per day to have been maintained and you can see that right at the beginning of November, 2020 the projections and the actual number (2020-11-002) were almost on par with each other. And then, the 2nd wave hit the USA like a hurricane and we ended the year with over 350,000 dead, more than +67,000 over the actual projection. I will not be tracking this statistic in this way anymore. It was too hard on my heart and spirit, but I promised to make an extrapolation to the end of 2020 and I kept my word.

Now that the extrapolation has run its course, I will soon delete that tab from the online excel-table. However, we have evidence of the 7 months of steady work right here in this analysis, for posterity's sake.

I will only be doing these super intensive USA analyses once per month and not at mid-month.

IN CONCLUSION: wash your hands, wear a face-mask, get vaccinated as soon as you can, maintain physical distancing and stay hopeful and positive. I am so very glad that 2020 is now gone. Again, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU.
