Transgender boy wins girls' state wrestling title for second time

For the second year in a row, a transgender wrestler has won the Texas girls’ Class 6A 110-pound division.

Mack Beggs, an 18-year-old senior from Euless Trinity High School near Dallas, entered the tournament in Cypress outside of Houston with an undefeated record. He beat Chelsea Sanchez.

The rules of the forum say I must form a cogent argument.

I cannot. If the world isn't rational why should I be?

    Mack you know better!

They could let him compete against the boys.

This is not fair. I don't agree that this should be happening. Sexual identity is one thing. I allow that it should be expressed with freedom and acceptance, but clearly someone with a male's body and muscles should not be competing athletically with females. Not fair.

Do we all realize that if Mack just took steroids to beat other girls she'd be charged legally for illegal drug possession?

I call bullshit, jail the bitch.

They could just allow him to compete against the boys like he wants to.

This is a moral breakdown. Can you imagine the parents that tell a child that this is ok?

Transgender is fine, but don't play games with it!

This girl diminishes every other transgender.

Something that might be missed by the source is that this boy wants to compete against the boys but is being denied that because he was born female. So in order to wrestle he has to compete against the girls. Not his choice, but rather what the state of Texas has decided should be the case.

No he does not. Please do not speak for us. You neither care or are supportive of trans people. Don't pretend to be an ally.

And they are taking hormone treatments that are enhancing their strength. THey should be treated no differently than someone taking steriods and should be barred from participation. Even the Olympics require that you remain treatment free for a few years before you can compete.

First off testosterone treatments are not anabolic steroids. Second they could let him compete with the boys.

You really don't care and would rather just discriminate so why put up the facade?

Not missed and not my point. The fact is she thinks it's ok for her to have an advantage over others and claim victory. It's freaking sick! Not that she's trans but that she knows the advantage the drugs give but still does it!

    Who thinks this is right?

The girl she beat was illegally beat out of her dream!

This just sucks and I blame Mack!

You have no clue what she's taking. She doesn't look like a normally developed teen female to me. You?

Once again. If he wants to compete then he must stop taking the treatments. You don't get to dictate special rules for trans that are different than others. Either you want to be treated equally or you don't. No one else gets to use steriods so why is he allowed? The Olympics don't even allow it.

Your attitude is precisely why while most people will give lip service to trans rights they find you advocates obnoxious. If you want to be treated like everyone else then you have to abide by the rules just like everyone else does. No performance enhancing drugs allowed.........PERIOD.

Bend the rules? Can a girl take testosterone legally and compete? No.

You can blame him all you want, but he does not make the rules and does not want to be wrestling in the female standings. The state of Texas told him that if he wished to wrestle he would only be allowed to wrestle in the female division because he was born female. He is just taking their stupidity to its conclusion and showing how wrong it is. Again, this is not what he would chose to do. You want him to go away and hide like Texas did. I am glad he didn't. Trans people are not going away even if you do silly things to them. Sorry to let you know. So blame him all you want I don't think he really cares.

Mack shouldn't be wrestling girls. Mack obviously has an unfair physical advantage.

If he isn't allowed to wrestle boys, then Texas needs to change the Rules.

But, there is no way that Mack should be wrestling girls

So to prove a point 'she' needs to go out and beat bitches? She's wrong, personally wrong. She knows it.

This....end thread. All Texas had to do and frankly this was partly their fault was say that if they won't allow him to wrestle in the boys division then he has to stop taking treatments for the duration of his wrestling career.

For people claiming that Mack just did what he was told that is complete bullshit. Mack could have suspended his treatments while he wrestled and won the tournament legitimately but he put himself before everyone else and didn't give a damn about cheating....so why the **** should I or anyone else care about what cheater wants?
