Yup. As I posted previously: It's conceivable that one day all women's swimming records will be held by transgender athletes.

Of course, it isn't going away.
    And, it shouldn't go away.

The following quote (attributed to an "Anonymous Female Member of the UPenn Swim Team", but, just as easily could have been a fabrication attribued to an "anonymous source") RINGS TRUE:

“It just seems like if you say anything, everyone is just going to attack you and call you transphobic, and it’s not even true. We just want to have what we were promised by joining the swim team, which is fair competition and equal opportunities. It’s been really frustrating because we all agree, and I have yet to meet anyone or talk to anyone who thinks what is going on is OK.”
    __________

As I have said many times before, the lid needs to be blown off of this.
This should be a Top Story on CNN and MSNBC.

They need to get Katie Ledecky on 60 Minutes to talk about this.
    Or even better:
A 1-Hour Oprah Winfrey Prime Time Special.
Featuring a joint interview wiith Ledecky and Thomas.
This is the sort of issue that deserves such massive upgrade (of visibility into the public discussion), that if I had any say in it, and if 60 Minutes (or Oprah) didn't want to take it on:

It should be the subject of a Special Edition of Dateline NBC.
    Featuring Ledecky and Thomas.
Heavily promoted and played in the time slot directly after the Super Bowl.

At this point, in regards to the upcoming NCAA Swimming Championships:
I would be in favor of a 100% Boycott of Biological Females (IF Trans M to F Swimmers are allowed to compete).

Yes. Something that "Dramatic" is needed.

Part 2 of this W.E story is even more outrageous:

Transgender Penn swimmer breaks team rules, compares self to Jackie Robinson
On our last training trip, we were told not to wear Penn gear on our trip to Florida, on the off chance that we would get harassed or anything," she said. "So, everyone went out of their way — now, about 75% of our athletic wardrobe is Penn — we went out of our way to not pack any Penn stuff. Except Lia. Every single day at the airport and at the gym, Lia made sure to wear a big Penn shirt with ‘Penn Swim and Dive’ on it. And she was the only one. We weren’t allowed to wear it because of her, and she did it every day.”
“She was doing it just to make a point," the swimmer said. "We all went out of our way for her.”

This disgusts me. And it has nothing to do with anyone's decision to transition from one gender to another. If Bruce to Caitlyn Jenner says there is something wrong here, there is something wrong here.

Common sense has left this country! This isn't about supporting the Transgender community. A man competes on the men's team for 3 years and then gets to compete on the women's team?

    @Steve N
    Check this out:

However, there is a caveat: according to the release, “The Board of Governors urged the divisions to provide flexibility to allow for additional eligibility if a transgender student-athlete loses eligibility based on the policy change provided they meet the newly adopted standards.” That “flexibility” may allow currently-eligible trans athletes, a group that includes Thomas, to continue competing for the remainder of the season even without meeting the documented levels.

All I want for Christmas is for LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant to transition to women and join the WNBA.

Then I want Djokovic to transition and play Serena in the finals at Wimbledon.

    Then I'll be happy.

I wish there were a professional women's baseball league so that Mike Trout could transition and join it. But there isn't. (I wonder why that is?)

You think cis-males just want to transition for the fun of it. LOL.
I think this is the entirety of the problem is people don't understand what trans means.

Each sports organization sets their rules for competing. As it should be.
I think the NCAA is changing policy now to more how the Olympic rules are.

"I can talk from a standpoint of doping. I don't think I've competed in a clean field in my entire career," the Olympic legend said. "It has to be a level playing field. I think that's something that we all need. That's what sports are, and for me, I don't know where this is going to go, I don't know what's going to happen."

"I believe we all should feel comfortable with who we are in our own skin," he added. "But I think sports should all be played on an even playing field. I don't know what that looks like in the future."

If this story is true and UPenn sues and wins, colleges around the country will probably actively recruit men for their women’s sports. A victory for UPenn will doom women in college sports to be nothing more than last place finishers.

UPenn considering suit if Lia Thomas is barred from women’s swimming championship

The University of Pennsylvania is considering a lawsuit if Lia Thomas is barred from competing in the upcoming NCAA women’s swimming championship, according to a report.

A swimmer on the Penn women’s team, speaking on the condition of anonymity, claimed to Fox News that administrators were considering legal action if Thomas is prohibited from participating in the championship.

“I have a feeling that if USA Swimming changes their rules, they will be filing a lawsuit for Lia to swim, but they wouldn’t do that for us,” she said. “That’s just really upsetting.”

I didn't know or care why they do it. "Like" should compete against "like."

It is discrimination to tell a heavyweight boxer that he can't fight bantamweights, even if it hurts his feelings. I don't care, because such discrimination, such segregation, if you will, is fair.

Come to think of it, why do you think we segregate athletes by sex in the first place?

The problem is the definition of 'LIKE'.
The rules committee of each sports organization determines ''like". And the boxing committee sets the rules for who can box against who.

Who determines fair? You? I? Or the sports organizing committees?

The central problem is the foreseeable outcome that one day all women's sports records will be held by transgendered athletes.
