Apparently some troops were injured in the attack

11 U.S. troops were wounded in the Iranian missile strike,

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2020/01/17/americans-injured-iran-missile-attack/

Several forum members proposed the green glass response in case any one was injured by an Iranian response. They suggested that Iran intentionally avoided injuring us or causing damage. NO HARM NO FOUL

now we know there was damage, there were injuries
Is it time to turn Iran into green glass?

From everything I'm seeing, the "injuries" were "pressure wave related". In other words, it was just precautionary screening for possible hearing damage and concussion-related injuries from the blasts of the explosions.

I know lots of people are thirsty for American soldier's blood, but there's nothing for you to drink.

    Sorry to disappoint you.

Translated, possible concussion. Something anyone who works at an artillery range that allows high powered is subject to on a daily basis. Try working with a tank crew during exercises and you will know what I mean.

    What rubbish.

    1. You dont have the capability to make Iran "green glass", you would become green glass yourself.
    2. Empty threats born from impotence.

The 'butterfly effect' is a pressure wave related injury also...

Do not deny that there is less than 11 injuries.

Do not deny that all are being observed on concussion protocol.

This is evidence of some in a certain political wing despise our soldiers.

Iran is several million square miles. Not even the chicxulub asteroid which was 10 billion the force of the hiroshima bomb, would be able to turn Iran into green glass. Now USA has a few thousand nukes. You could not even glass a area with 200km diameter.

People greatly overestimate the power of nuclear weapons. If you would heat up Iran enough that its surface melts to glass, would mean in your own shithole USA temperature would rise enough to vaporize water.

(CNN)Before leaving the internal gathering at Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday, President Donald Trump held a hastily scheduled press conference. In it, he was asked about the clear discrepancy between his initial claim that no Americans had been harmed in Iran's retaliatory strikes against a US base in Iraq and reports of 11 military personnel diagnosed with concussions and an unnamed number of others also being treated in the wake of the attack.

"No, I heard that they had headaches, and a couple of other things, but I would say, and I can report, it's not very serious," Trump said dismissively. When pressed about the potential for traumatic brain injury among those concussed, Trump added: "They told me about it numerous days later, you'd have to ask Department of Defense. I don't consider it very serious relative to other injuries that I've seen. I've seen what Iran has done with their roadside bombs to our troops. I've seen people with no legs and with no arms. I've seen people that were horribly, horribly injured in that area, that war. No, I do not consider that to be bad injuries, no."

Given this horrific news, we should invade Iran immediately with every available ground forced we have and kill them all. Its the only way to be sure this will never happen again.

What you believe shows you are utterly clueless and without any knowledge on the issue.

The report below is the Foundation for Defense of Democracies -- an anti-Iran think tank funded by the pro Israel lobby. (See, for instance, here for those who fund the group and here for its agenda). While the report contains the usual propaganda linking Iran's Qiam missile to the Scud family of missiles (it is propaganda, akin to say that a Porsche belong to the Model T family of automobiles), no one who has any clue has ever linked Iran's Fateh missiles to any foreign design of any kind. And no one can or has ever claimed any of these missiles, whether Fateh or Qiam or any other Iranian ballistic missile, is produced anywhere outside of Iran.

On the The Fateh missile, the missile (a solid fuel missile which can be fired from different angles) actually boasts accuracy than no foreign ballistic missile can match, with its actual precision now a proven fact. Other countries with advanced ballistic missiles arm them with nuclear warheads and have never been as interested as Iran in working on the precision of their ballistic missiles. (For precision strikes using missiles, the US relies on cruise missiles like the Tomahawk, which aren't any better in that regard than Iran's Soumar cruise missile).

But even the Qiam, which like all other Iranian ballistic missiles, is produced in Iran (no country sells Iran any "offensive weapons" and, frankly, other than some pre-UN embargo contracts fulfilled by the Russians belatedly for some anti-aircraft missiles, no weapons of any kind are sold to Iran due to the UN embargo), is a very different missile than the original Scud C missiles.

Anyway, while I doubt you would be interested in anything informative, even from those working for anti-Iran propaganda outfits like the "Foundation for Defense of Democracies", here is a report that might help you come up with propaganda that is at least less ignorant.

The official US position, after Iran's missile strike, was:
1- No Americans were "harmed" by Iran's missile strike. And there was 'minor damage' from the strike, a 'helicopter' was damaged.
2- Later: Acknowledgment of some of the physical damage done by the missiles, after satellite imagery had already left no doubts about it, with the Pentagon eventually allowing journalists to visit the base.
3- Last Week: 11 US servicemen were flown to Germany and Kuwait for concussion related injuries out of an "abundance of caution".
4- Today: 34 US servicemen were diagnosed with traumatic brain injury; 9 still receiving treatment in Germany and 8 flown from Germany to the US for further treatment.

    The official Iranian position was:

1- Iran was not targeting US soldiers in the strike, but instead "the US drone operation and command centre at the Ain al-Asad air base", specifically hitting "the headquarters of the US's drone operation, the Apache helicopters’ repair shed and maintenance centre, the Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopters’ ramp and hangar, and the ramps used for the V-22 Osprey tiltrotors and Super Hercules aircraft."

2- While not specifically targeting US soldiers, US casualties would have been inevitable. Iran has "documented" proof of US servicemen flown out of Iraq by C-130 planes for treatment.

That position has been repeated, but never changed. Initial reports in Iranian media (no longer reported) about the actual number of deaths or casualties, citing anonymous sources, were never part of Iran's "official position" on the issue.

As for how the Pentagon's latest acknowledgment on the issue (reported not just by CNN), is being reported by Iranian government media:

    https://www.presstv.com/Detail/2020...ed-concussion,-brain-injury-in-Iranian-strike
34 US troops suffered concussion, brain injury in Iranian strike: Pentagon

    p.s.
To be fair, there are propaganda reports in Iran as well. One report, citing Iraqi media, claims that 4 deaths caused by the missile strikes have been covered up by the Pentagon, with the deaths being attributed to some recent incidents in Germany and Afghanistan.

On what the latter, what I would call for now 'propaganda report' I allude to, I decided to run down and see what "incidents" were these reports referring to? One of them, reporting 2 deaths in Germany, appears a bit suspicious. The other, 2 recent deaths of US soldiers in Afghanistan, doesn't look suspicious and appears to have been what is being reported by the US.

The one that was a bit suspicious was this one:

    https://www.thelocal.de/20200113/two-us-airmen-found-dead-at-germany-military-base
UPDATE: Two US airmen found dead at Germany military base

Funny how your version of the Iranian 'official position' leaves out this:

    https://www.tehrantimes.com/news/443924/Over-80-U-S-forces-dead-in-Iran-s-missile-strikes-on-targets

Sort of a big thing to leave out, especially given the detailed version you gave of America's position. Of course, you are going to hide behind a definition of 'official position' that excludes these early claims, but the idea that the IRGC & state media don't qualify as 'official' is the sort of stuff only the heavily propagandized believe.

You are deliberately misrepresenting Iran's position on the missile strike, but you know that. Why? because it is clear that Iran lied for propaganda purposes only to be embarrassed when the truth emerged. A bit like shooting down that Ukrainian plane - lie first, then truth when it becomes unavoidable. The really funny bit is you desperately trying to find some dead American military personnel somewhere you can imply are linked to the missile strike.

It must be tiring having to constantly defend a violent dictatorship that represses & murders its own people and instinctively lies without compunction.

Iran's official position is what I summarized. Reports in the media, citing unnamed sources, aren't the official position of Iran regardless of the media reporting them. While propaganda organs who like to cite all sorts of things and pretend that is somehow the position of "Iran", and often cite this or that report or figure for this purpose regardless of whether that person has any authority to represent Iran's position on an issue, the official position of Iran is the one announced by an authoritative figure with applicable authority and jurisdiction to speak for Iran on an issue. On this issue, that would be Iran's revolutionary guards in their official briefing and press releases on the subject, as well as the Iranian foreign ministry, the Iranian president and Iran's Supreme Leader.

To be sure, I did allude to the initial reports you are referring to in my original post when I said:
Anyway, carry on with the propaganda. The facts speak for themselves.

So state controlled media quoting people from the Revolutionary Guard or elsewhere in government isn't 'official'. That is the excuse you are using. Figures. Like I said, no one who isn't drinking Iranian government kool aid by the barrel believes that. If they are citing people inside government claiming 80 dead that is government propaganda pure & simple. Trying to hide behind a carefully tailored definition of 'official' to pretend otherwise is as close to lying as doesn't matter.

Even funnier is your attempt to paint the US government as misleading people because a handful of people have concussion. lets contrast:

*America: 'no casualties' in initial reports, later reports list a small number of injuries. In the following days concussion, a condition that often takes hours or longer to be clearly diagnosed, is reported in several dozen personnel, most of whom return to duties quickly. Concussion is not classified by the US military as a 'casualty'.

    Zero deaths.

*Iran: initial claims of 80 dead & 200 injured in state controlled media magically evaporate when it is clear that no one has died. Hours later Iran shoots down an airliner, initially claims it was mechanical failure, then denounces reports that it may have been shot down as 'lies' before conceding, three days after the shoot down that it was Iranian forces who did it. And that concession only comes as video evidence emerges of a shoot down. Days of lying to cover up something the military would have known it did immediately.

Yep, America is definitely the untrustworthy one here.

Keep pumping out the propaganda, it is both amusing & informative.

State media or any media quoting an authoritative figure is reporting the official position. State media or any media reporting something based on "reports" from unidentified sources, isn't representing Iran's official position.

With respect to the strike against the US bases in Iraq, Iran's revolutionary guards issued a press release and gave 2 press briefings, televised live, giving details regarding the attacks. If they wanted to claim "80 US soldiers" had been killed, they could have. When asked specifically about the issue, in fact, the response was as I mentioned and which I will paraphrase here: the target of the strikes weren't American soldiers, but US casualties would be inevitable. US reports about suffering no casualties are for US domestic consumption. They did suffer casualties and we have "documented evidence" of US C-130 planes taking injured US soldiers outside of Iraq.
