I'm not pretending anything about Trump's statements. I'm stating the facts. You are the one making the judgments.

You are confusing "sour grapes" with pay back.
    Pay back is always sweet.

Ok, you may not be actively pretending, but if you refuse to consider why trump said those things then you can't claim to know what he meant.

No, there is no point in attempting humor because there has to be some kind of sign of intelligence in the audience to know they will "get it".
As far as "Islamists"..... how can refugees be "invaders" if they were invited?

“A lot of prisoners had it worse than I did. I'd been mistreated before, but not as badly as others. I always liked to strut a little after I'd been roughed up to show the other guys I was tough enough to take it. But after I turned down their offer, they worked me over harder than they ever had before. For a long time. And they broke me. When they brought me back to my cell, I was hurt and ashamed, and I didn't know how I could face my fellow prisoners.”

What do you think John McCain meant?

How is that at all relevant? If you give me a half-good reason I'm happy to oblige

McCain admits that he was ashamed of his conduct as a POW.
Why should Trump have more respect for McCain than McCain has for himself?

What are you suggesting? Trump disrespected McCain and was right to do so?

I'd see the passage the opposite way. I find it a painful and touchingly honest account: it's hard to admit that kind of stuff. So it makes me respect McCain more, not less.

Yowzer - more unkind words from the lib progs ??

Think it through. Europe is gone - 100 years from now it will be part of the caliphate because of their immigration policies starting after WW2.

He had to admit it. He knew the Vietnamese had documented his breakdown and could have used it against him.

Odd that no one cared about the details then or now.

By "think it through" if you mean I should look at it through your eyes, I'll pass. That would be like one of those TV shows where the cop is able to think like a serial killer to catch him.
Look, Europe will be fine but to get back to the thread.....how do you explain how Trump will attack the people in this country and call them SOB's for not being patriotic yet when it comes to a country that has obviously inserted itself in our voting process, an attack if you will and we get crickets from him. Don't worry about Europe.

Don't count on it. Europe has been occupied by Islam before. Genocide and ethnic cleansing is the hallmark of European real politik - in the end.

You need to stop relying on "obvious" Fake News sources.

“The most prolific of the conspiracy-mongers tend to focus on the Russia scandal, weaving a narrative so sensationalistic and complex that it could pass for a Netflix political drama. Theirs is a world where it is acceptable to allege that hundreds of American politicians, journalists, and government officials are actually secret Russian agents; that Andrew Breitbart was murdered by Vladimir Putin; that the Kremlin has “kompromat” on everyone, and oh-by-the-way a presidency-ending sex tape is going to drop any day now.

Writing recently in The New Republic, Sarah Jones identified the popularity of these notorious tweetstormers—some of whom boast followings in the hundreds of thousands—as part of a “disturbing emerging trend” on the left. “Liberals desperate to believe that the right conspiracy will take down Donald Trump promote their own purveyors of fake news,” she wrote.”

Exactly what did McCain mean when he admitted "they broke me"?

“A lot of prisoners had it worse than I did. I'd been mistreated before, but not as badly as others. I always liked to strut a little after I'd been roughed up to show the other guys I was tough enough to take it. But after I turned down their offer, they worked me over harder than they ever had before. For a long time. And they broke me. It's happening however at an increasing rate. The reality is that the Islamists are multiplying at a much faster rate which means that there will be more and more legislators elected and a gradual conversion to a theocracy. There are many places in Europe where the police do not go and it continues to be very risky both politically and personally to put forth any criticism of Islam.

I understand but can't fault McCain for anything that happened when he was a prisoner of war.

That is all true, but never underestimate the ability of Europeans to change course.
Spain was conquered and occupied by Islam. Then Islam was eradicated - it was not a pretty.

I gave an appraisal of mccain's statement as you asked, so I'd say the answer is yes. Now could you get to the point and explain why you injected this passage into the discussion?

By think it through I mean do your homework to determine exactly what is going on in Europe as the result of Islamic immigration over the last 70 years. That involves reading. Europe is in a death spiral.

Trump called out players who disrespect the flag and what it represents SOB's. Not the words many would have used but the sentiment is correct. And now many more players are taking a knee to protest being called a name. That's rich - NFL players being offended because they have been spoken harshly to. What do the coaches say to them when they botch a play ??

Crickets from Trump on Russia ?? Where have you been ?? Watching MSNBC exclusively ??

It is not a question of faulting him. The questions are:

    1. What exactly did McCain do that was heroic?

    2. Exactly what did he do that he was "ashamed" of?

You have not answered my questions. I have answered yours.

I think the fact that a presidential candidate admitted he was broken in such a way that made him ashamed of himself, that he did something wrong, is a serious admission and should have been thoroughly investigated.
