Obama quickly reversed course when he realized tariffs were hurting consumers, maybe one of the reasons your business survived obama. I wouldn't expect any such quarter from trump. He'll pound his chest about the handful of steel jobs (or whatever) while you and people like you shutter your windows. It would be hilarious if it wasn't tragic.

Irony for sure. Moving forward for the left has taken us back in time to the era when socialist tyranny was upon us. "Tearing it down" I would assert is very much like the Second World War that was required to put that tyranny back in the bottle...

As we see who the left applaud, their examples and heroes are Chinese these days. I recall Obama actually complaining that we couldn't be more like China, as his authoritative approach would be unchallenged.

Ill advance this for Trump. Vastly improved economic confidence. I conclude that this has been achieved by doing a myriad of things, not just one thing. But as an accomplishment, unparalleled for decades.

 

What did he say that wasn't true? You hate Trump so you will not look at the facts objectively. Honestly, that is disturbing that you would act this way.

But when it comes to actual policy accomplishments tied to pledges he made on the campaign trail, Trump is actually doing pretty well – whether you like the results or not.

I don't even know what you are trying to talk about here, now. You've moved the goalposts entirely off the field.

Tariffs had nothing to do with the struggles I faced during Obama's two presidencies.

First there was the recession, which hurt everyone, then there was Obama's re-election which caused consumer confidence to plummet.

When consumer confidence is gone and people are uneasy about the future, they tend to hold onto their money.

People held their breath in the Fall of 2016 just as they did in the Fall of 2012. If Hillary had won, I might have thrown in the towel. Instead Trump won and immediately business leaped forward. Maybe you'd really have to better understand the luxury market and business influences in general to fully understand, but I lived it firsthand. You can hang on to your partisan blinders and try to wind yourself up for more personal snark, or you can give some credence to what I write. (And if you do not already know, I am an Independent who voted for Obama in 2008, before you write me off as "alt-right" or whatever just because I'm an educated successful business owner.)

 

I don't wish ill of any American, especially one operating a small business. That said, if I were operating a business that is reliant on discretionary spending I would be concerned. Even if my clientele are not majorly affected it's a good bet that your customers' clientele IS affected. If that becomes the case you will be pining for the good ole Obama days. And FWIW, this is coming from someone who has never voted for a democrat in any election. Ever.

 

There are only a few things in life I can guarantee you. One is that I will never be pining for the Obama days!

How unsurprising. We have two conservatives on this thread who have no health insurance and plan to socialize their health care costs when they get sick and go to the emergency room for treatment. How very responsible of them. And then they rail against socialism.
