There has been a lot of talk about the current FBI investigation only being based on the Steele dossier. Of course, that has always been untrue. The US was also getting info from friendly nations about potential Russian interference.

The Australian involved here is no ordinary diplomat. Alexander Downer was the son of a diplomat. He became a member of Parliament, was briefly leader of the Liberal Party (actually a Conservative party), leader of the Opposition and then Foreign Minister for 11 years. While I don't like him or his politics, he is pretty close to an unimpeachable source in these circumstances.

When a member of the 'Five Eyes' tells you people in the Trump campaign are blabbing about Russian 'dirt' before it becomes public knowledge you pay attention.

He said, she said. Who cares? Russia hasnt been a threat to the US since the Cuban Missile Crisis. The DNC should've come up with a better plot... this Russian thing is going nowhere. Esp since we're the worlds worst when it comes to influencing elections in countries where we have interest.

Let me reiterate... Russian collusion is a big nothing burger.

For those who abide the idea of reading a story in the New York Times there is a Murdoch-friendly version above. Also more info of 'the Australian' involved. Not just some random diplomat.
