IO think I saw it in "The Lightbulb Conspiracy" that East Germany companies used to build products so good they was no need to replace them - because there was no consumer culture in communism, they went out of buisness soon after the wall fell because they sold just a few products compared to the Western companies that replaced theirs evry few years or so, so maybe that was what assisted to create the high quality of German wares ? no ? maybe just a little ?

Done by them to blame them as not British to customers in their Empire, but this shot went backwards against them. The customers told then "No, I want to have Made in Germany goods"...
