Trump calls for raising minimum age to buy all guns to 21

Trump is floating the idea of more unconstitutional gun control again, further proving that he is an enemy to genuine conservatism.

Trump, like Obama before him, has been a big spending, big government president with no respect for the constitution.

 

Finally someone speaks the truth

 

Trump has no political party, ideology or principles. Trump has no allegiance to the Constitution or rule of law. Trump is a living inflatable air-dancer that pivots and moves according to what his base wants him to say or do. He doesn't believe in anything except staying in power. That's what he desperately wants, nothing more. He will do whatever it takes to ingratiate himself with his base.

 

Trump is damned if he does or damned if he don't get a grip on some kind of position.

 

He throws out lots of BS around guns, rarely follows through with anything

 

Trump supports gun control. He just lacks the political capital to move forward with his agenda. Trump never left the Democratic party... instead, they left him.

Yes there are concerns. I have concerns that Trump could swing to the left after reelection. I have concerns he has no intention of stopping illegal immigration. But the Dems present no viable candidate.

 

I was going to say he's shooting himself in the foot with this... but given that everyone else running in 2020 wants to basically revoke the 2A, he's actually pretty safe with it.

Just really sucks theres no one running that respects our right to bear arms. This path threatens the Union; entire regions will secede over gun rights if we keep moving this way.

 

I am grateful to President Trump for curbing the excesses of Conservatism. He opposes the excesses of Liberalism. He is not willing to sacrifice thousands of lives for pro-gun agenda.

 

If Americans are not mature enough to own a gun or have a drink until they are 21, they are not mature enough to vote or join the military.

 

This is the one area that I had huge remeron Trump. Up until now he has been pretty good on gun issues but he is not near pro gun as I would like.

 

Sadly President Trump will lose some supporters. But he will save lives by opposing guns.

 

How exactly will this help save lives? Do you really think that underaged gang members will now,not buy guns? They primary use pistols which you already need to be 21 to buy. I see this as a feel good law.

 

Explain precisely how lives will be saved. Not merely in theoretical terms, but in actual and practical terms.

 

Most suicide attempts without firearms will not be successful.

President Trump has shown that he is ready to compromise on the issues where Conservatism disagrees with Humanitarianism.

 

And precisely what will prevent these individuals from gaining access to firearms?

There is nothing humanitarian to be found in proceeding with plans to sacrifice one group of law-abiding individuals in the name of trying to help another group of law-abiding indivduals.

 

The very number of annual deaths 30,000 to 40,000 makes guns a National Emergency. People do not really need guns.

 

Individuals killing themselves off because they are tired of living is not a national emergency.

Many do. Why should they be made to suffer for the benefit of those who simply do not wish to continue existing?

 

Living without guns is not suffering.

 

Those who have indeed been forced to defend themselves against the actions of outside individuals, and who have indeed needed firearms to accomplish such a goal, would beg to differ on such an evaluation of the matter.
